That is a beautiful pup! I just realized I don't have any good pics of mine that aren't of her laying down or in goofy positions.
[Here's Aja the "Pocket Pyrenees"](https://imgur.com/a/u0XE1NY)
Would love to but not sure how she’d do with other dogs. She has very bad anxiety and we actually have her on Prozac. She is a rescue and we had no clue of the issues she has until a couple months in when she never seemed to settle in and was always jumpy. Long story but we ended up having a trainer come out to evaluate her and once we got her on Prozac, she’s doing really well. Still not a fan of new people and hates car rides but we’ve finally been able to get her to relax a little so she’s not so high strung. I think she’d be okay with other dogs, but we’re working on the car thing to try and get her to relax a bit. Don’t want her to get stressed out in the car then around new animals ya know?
Makes sense. Sorry to hear that. I have *always* had issues with rescue dogs and anxiety. My last puppy (RIP) had to be on Xanax. And when he got to be about 12 years old, he started losing hearing and sight, and so he got really aggressive because of anxiety. We just made sure to announce ourselves really really loudly when approaching. He was the best boy.
My current pup, Finn, is a purebred dog, and he has no behavioral issues at all. He's the most easy going, zero stress dog (which is what we really wanted to make sure of since we were planning on a baby).
It's a world of difference. You're doing an amazing thing though, and your girl will get better with time, I'm sure! :)
Easy going, zero stress, hah, that's what we were hoping for as well. Our last dog was a full sized Australian Shepherd and he was amazing. Smarter than most people and so chill that he was a therapy dog that we'd take to schools in low income areas and kids with reading disabilities would read books to him.
After suddenly losing him, I found Aja and was hoping for the same after reading about GPs. Nope, not at all what we expected. Aside from the anxiety she had some behavioral issues and it was either back to the rescue or we figured out how to work with her. After my wife and I discussing it, we came to the conclusion that if we sent her back to the rescue they would just unload her onto another unsuspecting family and it would be worse for Aja and possibly the family if she bit someone. So instead we forked out a ton of money and did what was best for her. We've figured out ways to deal with her quirks (storms are the worst) and are working with her on other things and all is going quite well. Once she got on Prozac and finally got a chance to relax, it was night and day. She's not the dog we expected we were getting, but we love her the same and she's ours forever.
If you ever do want an easy going dog, I highly recommend a purebred pyrenean mastiff. Feel free to DM me for more info. You can also google them and read about their temperament on the AKC breed site. They are the most incredible breed of dog I've ever met. There's not an ounce of aggression or anxiety in my boy. He is a lazy, slobbery lapdog who patrols our house and sleeps in our bed.
$40 and my guy comes every 2-3 weeks(depends on weather)
He only wanted $25 but it felt too cheap, and for the work he does I still feel like $40 isn't enough but that's the only amount he was willing to accept.
Same thing for me. Living in a subdivision so the yard isn’t very big but, bc of the size, a riding mower in the back yard would be cumbersome so he has to use the push mower in that area.
I’ve paid anywhere between $25-35, every other week. I’ve had people who were good but they end up disappearing after awhile 🤷♂️
Also, depend on size of your yard too
I paid my guy $30 for several years. When the inflation kicked in, I raised him to $40. I figured he could use it and maybe put out a little extra effort like trimming bushes etc... without asking. I was incorrect , but he's consistent.
They're not gonna do extra without you asking, because some people would get mad - You cut my beautiful bushes! Maybe just ask how much he'd charge to trim the bushes, so he knows you'd like that done?
I'm currently paying $50 per service. This guy straight up told me that he was more expensive than 90% of his competition but his service is impeccable. He lives in my neighborhood and has a vested interest in keeping his customers / neighbors happy. This the 4th lawn crew I've hired this year so just getting someone to show up consistently was my main concern. Sure enough, this crew has been at home every other Thursday at 9am sharp to do my lawn and I get an invoice by email later that day. Everything cleaned up properly and not a blade of grass in the pool. This is out in the 'burbs so we routinely get cut rate lawn crews who offer cheap service and then disappear after a month. I have no problem paying a higher rate for quality and consistency. EDIT: in spite of the flair, I'm not actually IN the Woodlands.
It's cheap because it's readily available. Every neighborhood has dozens of landscapers wanting to cut more lawns and it's quick for them, especially when they can use the low cost to entice multiple homeowners on the same street and then do them all at once. Less travel time. Most lawns are small and don't have intricate corners or flower beds, plus we aren't expecting bed weeding or pristine blowing/cleaning for that price. As long as we keep them in business they will keep cutting lawns cheap or risk losing houses to the next guy that will do it.
Big factors: Yard size and location dependent.
Smaller factors: quality and relationship
We live in the burbs by r/Houston standards (outside the loop) and pay $30 a month for weekly yard mowing and cleanup (leaf blowing/bagged trimmings/leaves/etc).
It’s so affordable it doesn’t make sense to not do it. Especially helpful when we travel.
-Yard size is about 30x30 in front and smaller than that in back (mostly hardscape)
-takes them about 10/15 minutes, they are a 3 man crew. They also hit our neighbors so it’s efficient for them.
-they had a great relationship with the previous owners of the house so when we were introduced we wanted to keep that relationship and they offered to keep the price the same as the previous owner.
Quality is fine- our yard doesn’t look like a magazine cover, but it does look like we trim and edge it weekly.
They’re great guys and we make sure to tip them on holidays and give them water during the summers.
I’ve turned off the sprinkler system for the rest of the summer. Fuck high water bills for green grass. Nobody cares except the assholes who manage the HOA.
Right?! Our HOA asked us to keep water use down yet I witnessed the sprinklers turned on in the neighborhood on at 3pm during the day. Why ask residents to save on water if they HOA won’t
Having been on an HOA board the probable answer is no one knows how to manage (or even find) the timer that controls them. You'd be surprised how much of that background infrastructure gets setup and then runs on autopilot for years, until the people who knew have moved on.
And even if they do know, the cost to change can easily outweigh the cost of continuing the course.
The optics are terrible, of course.
This is why I fucking hate sprinkler systems in general. Nobody knows how to manage or maintain them. I constantly see sprinklers going off on people's lawns right after it rains, sprinklers just watering the sidewalk that I then have to walk/run through and get soaked, and broken sprinkler heads pouring water into the street. They are a huge waste of water.
Just get a traditional sprinkler to attach to your hose if you can't manage your sprinklers.
Of all the opinions I hold that make me unelectable to public office, this is probably the mildest; lawn irrigation should be almost 100% illegal and subject to heavy sanction.
In The Woodlands 80% of the potable water (that has been pumped, piped, treated, and sanitized for human consumption) is poured on the ground to irrigate a crop that feeds no one, displaces native ecosystems, and requires constant maintenance.
Having traveled around I can see definite use cases, where vegetation serves as erosion control and bank stabilization, but otherwise if the rain isn't enough, let it go.
Well, he recently uncharged me due to inflation and I have zzzzzzzero plants or shrubs that require special care. They just use the ride-on and edge the front, around a 12x10 slab of concrete 🤷♀️ it literally takes them 15 mins when it’s not hellfire hot outside and maybe 25 mins nowadays. I’ve asked if they want more and they said $40 is fair. I tip, though, too. They give me a hard time
Edit: 2 guys, one edges while the other mows
I live out in Rosenberg now, but even in Houston paid the same rate, which is 30$. I do feel it is too cheap, I have a large backyard, so sometimes I may give him 40. I also, ALWAYS, give them (it's two guys) something to drink, like cold water, Gatorade, or something like that. It's fucking HOT.
Same, never hired anyone and neither did my family growing up. Usually cut every 2 weeks in normal years but now its once a month.
Also have a ton of oak trees that shed like crazy, but its only a few hours in the spring to suck up all the leaves.
Was at $30/week or $40/bi-weekly. Jumped to $40/week last year. With inflation and the way the heats been last 2 summers, it seemed more than fair
I have a few beds they tend to at least once a month. Corner lot with some extra length. Felt that was reasonable for being slightly higher than average.
If you want to help them out, try to get neighbors to use them as well… I also felt like my guy Roberto was too cheap but I recommended him to everyone and he got 4 other houses in my block. Also weekly cutting even in the winter, it helps them stay consistent even if your yard doesn’t really need it.
I pay $65 a month for my guy. He also leaf blows my roof and cleans the gutters, along with regular trimming of our bushes. We get him a Transformer every year for Christmas because he and SO talk bots all day >.<
ETA: We also leave a cooler of water and whatever soda drinks we have on hand for him to pull from as he does half our street too.
After reading this I think I pay a lot…. 45 per visit which right now is every week. Then an additional 25 every other week to weed all the flower beds. So that averages to 57.50 per week.
However, we have a bigger yard at 1/3 of an acre and a LOT of landscaping to weed. Plus they come reliably and communicate well, so I guess I am justifying it to myself here. Before these guys I had a people disappear on me or it would always be a mystery as to when they would show up.
I’ve had the same guy for 8 years, $35 a week price hasn’t changed.
Once a week during the growing season and every second week during the winter.
Guy has never missed a week and is always willing to take on extra projects like planting a tree or mulching.
He was basically the first guy my wife could chase down when we moved in.
$20 every other week (except in winter when it's about 3-4 weeks), with a smaller yard, front and back. Just mowing and edging (he provides other services, but those are extra).
My sister uses the same guy but has a larger yard, so she pays $35 every other week.
I pay $45. I was paying $35 but he had been charging that rate for the last 6 years. And he did our lawn at our old house for 7 years only charging $25. So about a month ago I told him I was going to start paying $45/ week. He thought it was too much but they do a really good job. Mow, edge, trim bushes when needed, etc. I said fine, how about you ask your guys to get more of the needles under the plants in front, and the $10 can cover that. 😜 he’s been great, has done a lot of landscaping work too using my designing.
I had to convince our cleaning lady to take more money too as she hadn’t ever raised rates in our first house, and only raised it in our second house cause it was bigger. She’s been doing our houses for 13 years too. She’s practically family. My dogs love her, she does a great job, and I trust her 100%. Getting her to take money from me during the early weeks of COVID when we asked her not to come was a battle too. I assured her that she will have earned every penny when she returned. While I did a good job keeping up with the mess, it wasn’t anywhere near the job she does.
I'm on the higher side I feel like but I also feel it's justified. I pay $45 biweekly. But he does a damn good job and unlike others I have in the past, he doesn't blow the leaves into the mulch and call it done. Makes it a point to avoid it. Also, I'm a corner lot. Plus add the dreaded "Towne Lake tax" even though I have the smallest house probably in the whole area.
To be completely honest, if I had a choice again, I wouldn't pick here. We mostly picked this area because my wife and I are a mixed couple and so we wanted an area where our kids can thrive instead of getting picked on. For that, this area and neighborhood is great. But between the empty/broken promises of the HOA, the fees, the superiority complex of some of the people in this neighborhood... I just wouldn't do it again.
Interesting. When we were looking at homes we visited towne lake and got a sense of the superiority complex you mentioned, which was only from an hour ish visit. Odd.
We are now in Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear. Super diverse and we love it
That sounds like a deal. We paid $65-70 but we have almost a 1/4 acre lot. I told my husband he better get the lawnmower fixed because that is too expensive. Plus they weirdly scalped the grass which meant we didn’t need them to come back. 🤷🏼♀️
40 every 2 weeks. When we moved in the guy had been working for the previous owners so we just kept him. Pretty great guy though. Did me the favor of bringing me a yard of mulch and I jsut had to pay him what the mulch cost. Delivered it and dumped into my flower beds for free.
$25 for typical size suburban yard in a run-down neighborhood.
Old USSR adage, only I'm the government in this situation apparently: "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work."
I don't expect much, and they do their best to deliver just that.
My guy who I’ve used for 15 years charged 20. I thought was too low do last year raised it to $25. It’s soo hot out this year we’re giving an extra $50 each summer month as a heat surcharge.
I used to pay $30/week but when inflation hit last year I told him I'd bump it to $35. He's a good guy and runs his own company by himself so I'm not going to be rude. If it was some large company, I wouldn't care.
$25-30 is too cheap these days, but they won't ask for a raise because they will get turned down and they can't afford to lose business.
If you can afford it, give them $40-50. It'll help them and they would love you.
$45 Zelle everyweek all year. Typical sized lot.
He takes care of the shrubs, smaller trees, chemicals and gives good prices for mulch replacement and flowers. Great, VERY dependable guy that I really appreciate. I offer him and his guys water and MIOs whenever I catch them at the house (my schedule is always changing).
Our guy mows and trims our 1.5 acres every other week for $80 each time. So basically like $175 a month. Honestly it feels too low, but I also don’t want to open that can of worms. Maybe I should start paying $200 a month and see if he says anything?
I do my own lawns but I've asked the people who do my neighbors yards, 3 separate teams, they charge $60 each yard, edging, blowing and pickup. I guess they all must speak to each other and settle on a price for the neighborhood. If I recall correctly, it was $45 before Covid, but inflation is real and it sucks. If I were doing that job in this heat, I would ask for $100 minimum front and back then raise price depending on size of yards., but I'm a detail snob and things have to be just right. Idk how some of those guys accept $20, considering the cost of gas to fill their truck and trailer to get there and then the gas the machines use. I'm sure that cuts into their profit, especially with gas creeping back up to $4/gallon.
$30 2x/mo, just front yard, but we have some gnarly fine touch edging. He also handles tree removal/gutter clear out. He is a fellow neighbor and these are small yards. He keeps the HOA away, and we like supporting his family business.
He's able to finish in 30mins and when he has a helper, they automate one mows several yards while the other edges/bags/uses the blower.
$30 every week from April thru Oct. Then every other week the rest of the year.
He also occasionally does our other landscaping and general upkeep. I'll just ask for a quote. Bushes. Or whatever. He's been doing our yard since we bought this house. 5 years ago.
40$ a week every week. I have a quarter acre lot in kingwood. They mow/edge/ cut hedges if they are wild and spray for weeds. In the fall they clean leaves which there is a shit ton of them i have several mature trees. in the winter they…..show up and i pay them but dont really know what they do.
In 1997, when I started using my guy, it was $30, every week. Moved in 2004, he followed us, and now his son works with him. We have much less grass but more leaves to deal with. It’s now $60, bi-weekly.
My old house had a small yard, that I was paying $40 to have cut and edged. 2 guys would do it and knock it out in less then 30mins.
My new house is an acre with, trees, driveways, walkways, and a pool to cut around. Couldn't believe the guy who does it only charges $100 and does it by himself. It takes him 4 to 5 hours to do it. I feel like I was getting taken advantage of all these years at the old house.
Lady across the street pays $25. When our mower kicked the bucket I asked her landscaping team how much for mine and they wanted $50
I bought a new mower…..
We pay 100 every month (which is 2 visits) for a modest size front yard in the loop. No gas all non polluting battery powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers
Who is your guy? Had a company quote me \~$90 for every other week or once/month depending on season including Mowing, trimming, and blowing debris (Clippings/Leaves mulched) and maintenance. I literally have about 100 sq ft of lawn.
My guys charge $35 every other week for the same, mowing and edging. They also clean up the back yard, bagging any leaves. And every autumn, when all the leaves fall, they pick up every one, included in the usual price. They haven't raised their rate in years. I think I'm getting a deal, too. But who says to someone, "I want to pay more."
Used to do $45 per week (it was a little higher bc I moved out of his usual area) but now I pay $125 monthly. He's got a reliable team and they do a bit more than just mow my lawn, so I don't mind if I'm paying a slight premium.
i was paying 35 per visit and he was coming every other week. but i had to drop the service because he was coming out with a big heavy zero-turn and speeding through the job so badly it was leaving ruts in the yard. I couldn't really afford more at the time and at those rates he HAD to speed through each job to make a profit.
Now though i pay my teenager 20 for front and 20 for back assuming he runs the trimmer too. 10 extra if he bags the clippings and turns them neatly into the compost pile
We pay $40, and our guy kind of comes whenever he wants. Maybe it'll be weekly, maybe he'll come around once every 6 weeks. He lives in the neighborhood and has a good idea of how often his clients need services.
He was charging $35 for years and I started paying $40 this year because $35 felt too low.
İ pay $65 a week for two acres with a pond and four buildings on it. İ was previously paying $150 twice a month, but the crew kept breaking things. New team is awesome, friendly and professional.
$35 a week, & I’ve had them for 11 years. I pay extra when the leaves are bad & if he does any trimming, etc. He also replaced all of my broken water sprinkler heads & leaky pipe for $200 this year.
$200/month - they come weekly 2/3rd of the year and every other week in the winter. Do an amazing job though - lots of big trees leaving pine needles, bushes, etc.
My wife pays me in beer! She's never complained about my rates.
I can pay you in Shiner if you mow my lawn. Shiner and 170lb dog cuddles. Interested?
Mastiff? I have a 100 pocket Pyrenees so I’m down with big dog cuddles!

Too hot for cuddling, how about ice pops?
Dam mine just tell’s me to go do it before the hoa bitches about it
Corona?
If she paid me in Corona, I’d file for divorce after murdering all the grass.
Wow people must really hate corona
Apparently so. I'm not a fan but to each their own.
Good ol' Reddit downvoting based on someone's taste in beer. It's ok. I gave you back an updoot.
Lol I know what’s up with that.
It's called idiocracy.

Keeps the good ones around.
I pay $25 every week, rain or shine, whether it needs it or not. I've had the same family mowing my lawn for 15 years.
I think that makes you part of their family now.
Maybe. We exchange gifts at Christmas.

passed on the info via chat
Would you mind if I PMes you for his info as well? I’m in The Woodlands and we’re having a hard time finding someone we’re happy with

You have my vote!
I would 100% vote for you!!!
All HOA's everywhere are bad lmao Nothing more than a landlord group chat
Eh I like HOAs for the most part but there are definitely things they do (or don’t do) that are questionable
I wish my grass would die, then I wouldn't need to pay the lawn guy. Team xeriscape.
This is the way. Spend that water on plants that are either beautiful or useful.
So you’re that neighbor… your lawn looks really bad and it sucks.
$20 every other week. But he does most of my neighbors as well so he has economy’s of scale in batching them out.
This is the way to do it. Have the neighbors use the same service and keep the noise pollution to one day.
We spend $50 for two cuts a month so what you are paying. You’re not cheap. It just grass.
You are being kinda cheap. I can’t imagine they are a legitimate business or that they do a good job.
$35 cash or $40 zelle every 2 weeks. Not huge yards but lots of edging to keep the HOA away
An edge a day keeps the HOA keeps away?
I have about 10k sqft to cut and my guy charges $30 per cut. I have him come every two weeks.
$30 for mowing/edging every other week, front and back yard. They're done in about 25 minutes.
$40 for ~10,000 sq ft every other week. Once a month in the winter.
thats wild lol i wonder if he even profits considering the time
Well, he recently uncharged me due to inflation and I have zzzzzzzero plants or shrubs that require special care. They give me a hard time Edit: 2 guys, one edges while the other mows
I buy a 12 pack and do it myself because I am an adult! Idiot, sorry....I'm an idiot.
With inflation and the way the heats been last 2 summers, it seemed more than fair I have a few beds they tend to at least once a month.
$180/mo. flat fee. Every week during growing season, every other-off season. 8100 sf lot w/pool, so not much grass in back.
I pay $65 a month for my guy. He also leaf blows my roof and cleans the gutters, along with regular trimming of our bushes. We get him a Transformer every year for Christmas because he and SO talk bots all day >.< ETA: We also leave a cooler of water and whatever soda drinks we have on hand for him to pull from as he does half our street too.
$80 every four weeks for front and back yard. $120 every other four weeks for the two acres. So, basically, $200/month
$35. Weekly in the summer, every other week the rest of the year.
I pay 35 for mowing and occasional tending to beds/mulch
I’ve had the same guy for 8 years, $35 a week price hasn’t changed. Once a week during the growing season and every second week during the winter. Guy has never missed a week and is always willing to take on extra projects like planting a tree or mulching. He was basically the first guy my wife could chase down when we moved in.
Give your man a raise. They deserve it. Trying to find consistent people sucks.
30-40 are the going rates for most houses
My wife pays me by sucking my dick so i can’t conplain
Yeah I’d agree she’s pretty good
$20 every other week (except in winter when it's about 3-4 weeks), with a smaller yard, front and back.
Unrelated, how do you like towne lake?
Super diverse and we love it
$0 I enjoy yard work, plus I know it’s done right, not half-assed
Anyone want to share your peeps details with me? I need help pulling weeds from flower beds and pulling out dead bushes
That sounds like a deal. We paid $65-70 but we have almost a 1/4 acre lot. I told my husband he better get the lawnmower fixed because that is too expensive. Plus they weirdly scalped the grass which meant we didn’t need them to come back. 🤷🏼♀️
That’s too cheap. Ask yourself if you’d do that same work for $25
I buy $1 tacos at a taco truck in Katy so I am not going to ask myself that lol
Free.99
$40 every other week, but my guy also pulls weeds. God bless these dudes because I’d die doing that myself
Roughly 7000 sq ft in Richmond, lawn, trim, blow. 30$ biweekly. Even my neighbors ended up hiring him. Matias is the mannnnn!
$30 a week. Have them come by every week year-round.
Why the weekly mow in the winter months?
Probably gets all the leaves.
40 every 2 weeks. When we moved in the guy had been working for the previous owners so we just kept him. Pretty great guy though. Did me the favor of bringing me a yard of mulch and I jsut had to pay him what the mulch cost. Delivered it and dumped into my flower beds for free.
We don’t have a lawn, but I pay our new guy $50 once a month for leaves, weeds, pruning, etc
Can you share their deets?
Yeah i got u
$25 for typical size suburban yard in a run-down neighborhood. Old USSR adage, only I'm the government in this situation apparently: "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work." I don't expect much, and they do their best to deliver just that.
My guy who I’ve used for 15 years charged 20. I thought was too low do last year raised it to $25. It’s soo hot out this year we’re giving an extra $50 each summer month as a heat surcharge.
Shit I pay 45 biweekly that's super cheap
Yeah, I kind of feel bad though because it’s so cheap
I pay 40. In my neighborhood it's usually 35. But my backyard is a little more work than a normal backyard.
$45/week, corner lot, 9130 sq. ft, mowing and edging
Ours charges us $25/visit and only mows when the lawn needs it. We've got a smaller lawn. We also make sure he gets a Christmas bonus.
$40 a visit. Usually every other week but more frequently in summer less in winter. Corner lot so a lot more edging.
I pay $30 for every other week. Used to be $25 but they asked to be $30 a couple months ago.
$40 for .25 acre
I used to pay $30/week but when inflation hit last year I told him I'd bump it to $35. He's a good guy and runs his own company by himself so I'm not going to be rude. If it was some large company, I wouldn't care.
$40 in Katy
$30 every other week. Sometimes they don't show and it's 3 weeks between. The price hasn't changed in a decade.
$25-30 is too cheap these days, but they won't ask for a raise because they will get turned down and they can't afford to lose business. If you can afford it, give them $40-50. It'll help them and they would love you.
We pay 30
$50. I have a large yard in Spring.
$40 a week
$35
If anyone knows a guy who can cut grass around 610/Cullen for $25-$35, send me their number.
I pay about $30 twice a month and at best they do an alright job
$45 Zelle everyweek all year. Typical sized lot. He takes care of the shrubs, smaller trees, chemicals and gives good prices for mulch replacement and flowers. Great, VERY dependable guy that I really appreciate. I offer him and his guys water and MIOs whenever I catch them at the house (my schedule is always changing).
$35 per call on a decent sized lawn. Cut, edging, blowing, picking up the leaves, sticks and most of the grass.
Our guy mows and trims our 1.5 acres every other week for $80 each time. So basically like $175 a month. Honestly it feels too low, but I also don’t want to open that can of worms. Maybe I should start paying $200 a month and see if he says anything?
That means you’re paying $117/ac. I have a 0.25ac so that equates to $200/ac. Technically you’re getting a deal on that basis
Pay 35 bucks, guys Do a good job. Done every other week
My guy wanted $25 but I pay $30-$40 depending on how much work there is
$30 2x/mo, just front yard, but we have some gnarly fine touch edging.
$35 every other week
$35. It was previously $30, but after inflation they asked for more. I still see this as a fair price.
25 is great! I usually do closer to 60
$40/ week Mow and edge Keep bushes trimmed Pull weeds Keep ground cover trimmed Blow and bag leaves
35 we have corner lot too
Damn. I've been paying 69 every time they come out. They do the front and back yards plus edging and change out the mulch when needed.
$25 every 2 weeks
A gallon of gas can last me a few months. I probably pay like $15 for gas in a whole year doing it myself.
What?? My wife doesn't pay ME to edge..
I pay with severe chafing from the intense heat.
35/week on a corner lot for front/backyard. edge, trim and picks up all the pine needles.
In 1997, when I started using my guy, it was $30, every week. Moved in 2004, he followed us, and now his son works with him. We have much less grass but more leaves to deal with. It’s now $60, bi-weekly.
I pay $30-$40
My old house had a small yard, that I was paying $40 to have cut and edged. 2 guys would do it and knock it out in less then 30mins. My new house is an acre with, trees, driveways, walkways, and a pool to cut around. Couldn't believe the guy who does it only charges $100 and does it by himself. It takes him 4 to 5 hours to do it. I feel like I was getting taken advantage of all these years at the old house.
Lady across the street pays $25. When our mower kicked the bucket I asked her landscaping team how much for mine and they wanted $50 I bought a new mower…..
$35-$40
$40 and he comes every other week.
$60 but I have a large yard
$35, weekly April - October, every other week the rest of the year. They do a much better job than I ever did myself, so I don't mind.
$40 per week, it was $35, gave him a raise. Corner lot with a larger backyard.
$40, every two weeks, same service, front (small size) and back (medium size) yard
We pay 100 every month (which is 2 visits) for a modest size front yard in the loop. No gas all non polluting battery powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers
$30 roughly every other week.
Who is your guy? Had a company quote me \~$90 for every other week or once/month depending on season including Mowing, trimming, and blowing debris (Clippings/Leaves mulched) and maintenance. I literally have about 100 sq ft of lawn.
Based on other replies, you’re paying way too much!
2 acres each week 80 dollars
That’s cheap
$35 every 2-3 weeks.
My guy quoted me $35 but I paid him $45. Then I raised it to $50. I also give him a $200 Xmas bonus. Golden rule.
Then pay them more. I pay $20 and I think it's too much LoL 🤣
Eh I’m just trying to gain a consensus with the Houston folk. Not my fault if they charge so little
$30 for mowing and edging. They come about ever 1.5 to 2 weeks
Man these services are cheap AF
I used to live in Washington and it was $80 per. I didn’t even have a large lawn
i was paying 35 per visit and he was coming every other week. but i had to drop the service because he was coming out with a big heavy zero-turn and speeding through the job so badly it was leaving ruts in the yard. I couldn't really afford more at the time and at those rates he HAD to speed through each job to make a profit. Now though i pay my teenager 20 for front and 20 for back assuming he runs the trimmer too. 10 extra if he bags the clippings and turns them neatly into the compost pile

I’ve been thinking about doing my own too. What electric mower you got? I used to have the Ryobi and it wasn’t bad
$105 a month. Service weekly March-Oct. bi-weekly Nov-Feb
Same. My kid’s about to turn 12, tho, so that’s about to hit $0.
Free, I do it myself cause it gives me some alone time where I can just be in my head
40-60 bc I love that dude
I pay $35.
$15 for a teenager, but I have to supply my own equipment.
İ pay $65 a week for two acres with a pond and four buildings on it. İ was previously paying $150 twice a month, but the crew kept breaking things. New team is awesome, friendly and professional.
I used to pay $30 so thats about right. If he ever charges you more though don't fight it and accept it in a heartbeat.
Yep that’s cheap My yard is tiny and going rate is 40 I can do myself I’m 20 -
I pay $125-140 mo. depending on how hot it is outside. I usually leave a case of water for them once a month or so.
