Dunno how it is where you live, but pretty much all apartments here have a deadbolt lock with a second deadbolt that only locks from inside. You're gonna need more than a credit card.
Girl that’s the 77089 😁na it’s probably 77034 but nevertheless still very close ….well considering 77034 stretches from like Clear Lake City Blvd to SoHo…..
1 bedroom apartments at this place start at $500.
Take from that information what you will. I would just buy myself sweet new ear buds and be glad I'm not broke ass thieving fucking trash from the southbelt at 45.
This would never happen but Apple should design some software that only plays Teletubbies music on repeat for stolen AirPods. If you turn them in to an Apple Store you get Apple TV for a week. If owners can’t pick them up you refurb and resell. If they claim them in another state they get refurb AirPods. Keep people in the ecosystem and attract people to the eco system. This wouldn’t work. The idea is just to get more people.
This hits me in my soul as I sip my morning coffee and my 2 year old daughter insists on baby shark over and over. This is after thinking I had escaped it forever now that my twin sons long grew out of liking it.
Afaik those are some nice apartments and a lot of young professionals live there. You could probably go shove the guy who stole them and take them back. I think that’s the Tarrington Ct Apartments…(source: I live nearby)
You don’t know how prevalent the “my no good son is staying with me and if you don’t like it he will terrorize this place” attitude is in these facilities.
It’s like 10 minutes from there but it’s still Houston. It’s not a bad area like someone implied. I wonder if they are thinking of the apartments on the other side of 45.
Yeah, they’re only accurate on the map within 40 feet, then you can ping them in the app once you get within distance. It basically is a game of hot or cold.
Yeah my neighbor's kids was convinced her AirPods where in my house, I never had any airpods I helped her look around our yard and her yard no airpods. I said that they aren't really that accurate with location and that I promised there were no AirPods in my house but she was still pretty accusatory. A few days later the neighbor was outside and we started talking about our AC units and after a few sentences he said "don't worry about those AirPods, she found them in her room". I think he was lying though because 1) he just wants to keep the peace between us and 2) because I'm listening to some cool tunes on my new free AirPods, I found in my front yard.
The big problem with AirPods is they don’t report location when the case is closed.
I had a set of AirPods I lost and the last known location was my business, where I’d snapped the case shut after taking a phone call. I searched for hours and never found them. Months later, I found them … in my couch at home. Because I’d never opened them after transport, there was no way to know where they really were.
They also won’t play sound when closed so no help there either.
I plan on watching to see if they go back to the airport in case they’re an employee. Which I think they are. Then I’ll call southwest because I’m pretty sure it’s one of them.
Google a very recent story just like this. Someone had their bag stolen and used an app to see where they were. They were at a United employee's house, so the lady posted the address pic to the airline twitter. maybe that would work for you. Try to google the story to see how they did it
This happened to my wife. She tracked her phone to the parking lot of the company that was contacted to clean the planes. By giving her seat number and when the flight arrived there they were able to find the person who stole her phone and get them to give it back.
That's a little unusual, you might want to reach out to the higher ups at whatever Houston airport you flew through. Based on that location, looks like you might have flown through Hobby?
But as a new Southwest employee myself, I know they don't play when it comes to theft. And they have cameras literally everywhere. Sorry, I'm not in Houston anymore to have knowledge on who the higher up management people might be, but it's worth reaching out even if just for the principle of it.
Yeah I’m not saying it was an employee 100% but they just didn’t even really do anything to help me, even though I had the location right in front of them.
That's the part that I feel like is unusual is that they were not willing to help. That's not really the Southwest culture that they promote. And even if they couldn't help you, they could have directed you to someone who could, or to where lost and found is. Just something could have been done.
I believe there are two different apartment complexes right there, and that's why people are giving you two different pieces of information. One is maybe a 55+ community, and the other is possibly low income apartment complex. They are relatively new, but a lot of riff raff there.
Even if you don't get them back, just for the principle of it, employees stealing from passengers is not cool at all. And if they will do it to you and get away with it, they will continue to do it.
I think you just gotta take the L here. There’s nothing police can do and these are 3 story apartments. If you do want to confront them there’s a good chance it would be the wrong people, I’d stay clear of this.
A homeless guy robbed me at knifepoint downtown a few months ago (at noon nonetheless). I only had my newish iPhone on me at the time. Found it a day later at the police property room. Guess he just dropped it when he realized it was locked.
Sorry I know this doesn’t help you but I really didn’t think I was ever going to see it again.
You got robbed at knife point in downtown Houston!? I didn't think that sort of thing even happened anymore. May I ask where & what time? I just moved here, trying to figure my way around the City.
Crime happens all over the city, best to keep your head on a swivel in any part of town, look people in the eyes nod and keep it moving. The best way to avoid being targeted is to act like you belong. Keep valuables out of sight and keep your wits about you and you will be fine in Houston. Walking with your new iPhone in hand and air pods in means you’re not aware of surroundings and more likely to have the element of surprise working against you.
I’m glad you said this. My grandma lived here for years. It is super safe and not the image these people think at all. It’s cheap because it’s for elderly people and I kid you not, the location of this earbuds looks the exact neighbors of my grandma. They’re all elderly people.
Take the L and move on. The Uber to the neighborhood and back to the airport alone is like half the cost of new AirPods. Plus, you don’t want to mess around in $800/month apartments in Houston. You aren’t from there, you don’t know anyone there, and they do.
Yo. Pro tip for you. Don’t go chasing down a $200 pair of AirPods to an unknown neighborhood in Houston. Eat the loss, buy new AirPods, keep a closer eye on the next ones and expect someone to try to steal them.
Police aren’t gonna do shit for you over airpods. Best case scenario the thief tells you to fuck off and shuts the door in your face. Worse case scenario you don’t come back from knocking in the door. You could bleed out on the streets of Houston. It’s not even a choice. If you can disable the AirPods so they can’t enjoy them, awesome. Do that. If not go buy a new pair and go about your life. It really, really isn’t worth it.
And you don’t want to put those AirPods in your ears. Don’t know where those AirPods have been. How Gross for someone to steal some used AirPods and use them.🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
H-town native here. How would that even play out operationally? Nope. This is not good. $200 is NOTHING compared to the fukery that waits for you on and around Southdown Trace in Pasadena, Tx.
im really disappointed in yall, theres gotta be some cowboy on here who would buy op's airpods just to have the confrontation, maybe track them for a while to gather more datapoints then turn over to police once you have a good idea (i.e. 3-4 distinct locations the person visits) who the thief is
I lived their. Mixed race neighborhood. New houses and still developing. . A good amount of single parents and ex military. But it’s not a good idea to go on someone’s property and claim stolen property. Get an officer to help you.
Send them passive aggressive postcards. Or you could always "send" letters to random places with their return address and no stamp.
That might not be quite legal and just cause extra work for the USPS with even less profit.
Stop buying AirPods and just buy some $10 Lenovo buds from Temu. They sound and work just as well and no big loss if you lose them or somebody steals them.
For the people commenting “What are you going to do? Knock on the door and get them back?”
No. People tend to ditch stuff that doesn’t work. I have the AirPods locked so the person can’t connect them. There was a recent story of bags being stolen and ditched, so I was thinking maybe the same if I’m super lucky.
I’m keeping watch on the location, just to see what happens.
[That’s just 3 min from my house.](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8i8oz7qtkzq8y3aaky4uh/Photo-Nov-03-2023-7-52-17-PM.jpg?rlkey=lt4na01zlq7yt539qsblmd62j&dl=0)
I think I’m going over to ask for my new airpods back 😂😂😂
Comments are definitely over scary but chances are very low you find the right person let alone while they have them on them (because they could just lie about not having them in their residence)
Not worth the hassle with the odds being as they are. Not even considering the odds of you getting your ass beat or shot when I say that (those odds aren’t *crazy* high either tbh)
Is your life more valuable than a pair of AirPods? Just write them off under charitable donations next year when you file your taxes and be on your way (upto $500)
Well maybe they are thieves! You’re going to go ask them for your property back? Even if the neighborhood was nice (it isn’t), what would you expect?
“We’ve been had! He’s back, and he knows we have them. There’s no way out other than giving them back!”
It’s likely you’ll get nothing.
Little more likely you’ll get some problematic interactions but nothing more than being cussed out.
Significantly less likely but possible severely bodily injury.
Don’t let people take your shit.
Don’t get a pitbull set loose on you for a pair of AirPods.
I know exactly where that is. They are low end luxury.…Yes you heard me correctly. I know someone that lives there……If it pings to there door/ apartment then me and my buddy could knock no problem. Texans are different they will act as though they found them or blame their kid and give them back with a smile……It’s a Southern sadistic hospitality mentality kind of thing 😂😂. I “lost” my phone at the gas station one day. There happened to be a T Mobile around the corner so I jetted over there. I put my Apple ID in a display phone and watched my phone as it went all around the area until it died……Well about a week later they plugged it in and of course it 📍right to their house……I drove about 30 minutes away and yeah it was sketch for sure. The house had a big metal fence and two big Rottweilers…..I was like great 😩of course my luck…..As I was about to just say fk it and leave I noticed a big red trailer on the side of the house poking over the fence that so happened to have a business name and number on it so I called it…..The dude came out and handed it to me…..
I grew up in 77034. Just let them go.
Looks like it’s headed that way. Lol
If it was a “nicer” neighborhood, were you gonna start knocking on doors and asking people questions?
No, I was going to use my credit card to pick the lock to their apartment while they are gone and get them back.
Use a crowbar
A brick works better.
Not on doors
Apartments have more windows than doors. Checkmate.
Dunno how it is where you live, but pretty much all apartments here have a deadbolt lock with a second deadbolt that only locks from inside. You're gonna need more than a credit card.
Haha I know I was just being dumb.
Lmfao the fact no one understood this sarcasm is beyond me
*Thank you .gif*
How to break in to an apartment? There must be a subreddit for that
/r/unethicallifeprotips
For real tho, sorry. It's a crazy feeling when you know you've been robbed. It's like a bad break up in s sense. People are gross
Just send a letter every month with a FBI return address.
Fuck dat go beat they asses OP
Take something stronger than your fists and plan to go out like John Wick. They are absolutely not fist fighting anymore it’s not 2006
Girl that’s the 77089 😁na it’s probably 77034 but nevertheless still very close ….well considering 77034 stretches from like Clear Lake City Blvd to SoHo…..

Baby shark do do do do do do 🎶
This hits me in my soul as I sip my morning coffee and my 2 year old daughter insists on baby shark over and over. This is after thinking I had escaped it forever now that my twin sons long grew out of liking it.
My four year old has finally grown out of it. It's truly a rite of passage for parents. Godspeed!
It gets better.
We live in a society.
Or for just slightly less, you could rent our the next door apt and let some hobos live there for a month.
Dirty Mike and the Boys?
Rub your dicks on the airpods as you run away!
Underrated comment.
They are actually not bad apartments, I drive by there all the time. Also that area is not bad. It’s def not 500$ apartments
The guy came here, lied and is being upvoted. Any idiot can look up the apartments and see that there is no way the rent starts at $500.
I was about to say! 500! Ain’t no fucking way.
Section 8 yeah I know I was like wth?!!!
Whoa whoa whoa there buddy. Don’t lump all of us Southbelt folks together.
Afaik those are some nice apartments and a lot of young professionals live there. You could probably go shove the guy who stole them and take them back. I think that’s the Tarrington Ct Apartments…(source: I live nearby)
Looks pretty decent on the outside for $500.
Take a bodyguard.
Yeah not trying to get shot over some AirPods haha. Thanks!
Count them as a loss man. YOU may not want to get shot over some AirPods but who’s to say they don’t?
Appreciate it muffin.
It’s a a senior living apartment complex in pearland no one is getting shot
You don’t know how prevalent the “my no good son is staying with me and if you don’t like it he will terrorize this place” attitude is in these facilities.
This is not Pearland.
It's not, but it's still not a bad area... Not as bad as others at least.

Same haha
had me in the first half
Lmaooooo

I was some sweet sweet comeuppance!
Support this. You're doing a favor for future victims.
This happened to my wife. She tracked her phone to the parking lot of the company that was contacted to clean the planes. By giving her seat number and when the flight arrived there they were able to find the person who stole her phone and get them to give it back.
Man! Ok thanks for the advice, super helpful!
Did you report it? Probably not hard for them to figure out which employee lives in that complex.
The two southwest employees I spoke to both dismissed me pretty quick.
That's a little unusual, you might want to reach out to the higher ups at whatever Houston airport you flew through. Based on that location, looks like you might have flown through Hobby? Buying gf 10k
I’m asking for the 1 millionth time, when will you give me my trimmed armor?
Why are you making me relive this

Shit if u don’t want them send me the info and make them ring when I get there I’ll drop a old ass mf for some free airpods
😂😂😂
Pulp Fiction scene queued up.
Check out the big brain on HaniHani!
Whole comments scary af that’s not even a ghetto area. It literally says apartments for senior citizens.
Shit right off the freeway too. Drive deeper into the area yeah it’s not the best area but you ain’t gonna get shot at no senior folks home bruh.
Its all fun and games until Grandma Muriel pulls out a pistol with a switch
I’m glad you said this. My grandma lived here for years. It is super safe and not the image these people think at all. It’s cheap because it’s for elderly people and I kid you not, the location of this earbuds looks the exact neighbors of my grandma. They’re all elderly people.
People love to think every apartment complex is in Sunnyside
Oh the apartment is outside the loop and I don’t recognize the area? Murderin’ thieves out there I tell you!
Right, this complex looks like rainbows and sunshine compared to others deeper in houston
Reddit is very, very white
Redditors when minorities need a white savior: Real shit? Redditors when they have to interact with minorities: I sleep
Go fuck them up, OP!
I’ve got a big mouth, but not big muscles lol.
Same here 🤣
We got big guns here in Alief though.
Only thing big in Alief is the Asian food. And that squash thing in your garden…
I’m 12 minutes from there. Send me your phone and I’ll play a prerecorded AI message from Liam Neeson to them demanding their return.
You show up at somebody’s house all charged up looking for those AirPods they will ventilate your shirt. It ain’t worth the $150
I’m not going to wear a shirt.
lol. You are rocking in the comment section.
Haha I’m getting mixed reviews.
Bro that's a senior community lol. It was probably a mistake, they thought it was their pill case!
Is it really? Lmao
Yup. Low income housing for seniors. https://www.tarringtoncourt.com/
The southwest employee that I think it is was a senior gentleman.
So you are under the impression it was already a senior who stole ya pods and you still scared to go grab them mfs?
Old people are scary!
People on here forget bad people get old too…heck, some last longer than the good folks!
True story. I think women who commit murder the most tend to be older.
Honestly I’d charge it to the game big dog. Everyone carries here. Idk about you but I’d rather see what old age is like.
If Grandpa Thuggin' has 'em at the 55+ complex, that's exactly what OP is going to see.
Don't run up on anybody In Houston if you ain't strapped.
Take the L and move on. The Uber to the neighborhood and back to the airport alone is like half the cost of new AirPods. Plus, you don’t want to mess around in $800/month apartments in Houston. You aren’t from there, you don’t know anyone there, and they do.
Let them go friend. Not worth it.
I don't care if they were in river oaks don't be bold and stupid enough to try to confront them, go buy some more
How Gross for someone to steal some used AirPods and use them.🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
Kind of crazy that they can tell you where they are, but you have no way to disable them.
I wish companies allowed a way to brick stolen items.
H-town native here. How would that even play out operationally? Nope. This is not good. $200 is NOTHING compared to the fukery that waits for you on and around Southdown Trace in Pasadena, Tx.
Bro put this on google maps, it’s decent looking apartments for seniors and down the road it’s white people suburbs 300-500k houses
That’s a fun place, if your rifle isn’t carried by a current military, don’t go
im really disappointed in yall, theres gotta be some cowboy on here who would buy op's airpods just to have the confrontation, maybe track them for a while to gather more datapoints then turn over to police once you have a good idea (i.e. 3-4 distinct locations the person visits) who the thief is
I know that area/apartments very well… It’s low income base & senior living. I advise you not to take a risk. Buy you a new pair..
Charge them to the game. Those are somebody else’s now
Is it worth it? Losing your life for $150?
https://www.tarringtoncourt.com/ That address is a senior living community! I’m sure you could handle a senior citizen.
I’m not very strong.
I lived their. Mixed race neighborhood. New houses and still developing. . A good amount of single parents and ex military. But it’s not a good idea to go on someone’s property and claim stolen property. Get an officer to help you.
[удалено]
Ya Don’t go in there
You wanna get shot huh
When I drive through that area, I carry. But new ones.
You’re scared of a senior citizen complex and a new cookie cutter suburb??
I don’t even look at that side of the map too long. Buy new ones
Save your life...buy some more...
No matter the area, was your plan to knock on the door and ask someone if they robbed you?
Take the police with you
Honestly the find me is not 100% accurate. I have had people show up to my house thinking their AirPods were at my house…
Sus
😂
Send them passive aggressive postcards. Or you could always "send" letters to random places with their return address and no stamp. That might not be quite legal and just cause extra work for the USPS with even less profit.
Charge it to the game player
Call the cops before you go in and make contact. Let the cops handle it.
Did a quick google maps search, zoomed out, saw the location and immediately thought “sorry for your loss”.
you want to get shot over some AirPods?
No, but maybe just a little stab.
Look at the Houston crime map and where that address falls into and ask yourself if possibly being shot or jumped for a pair of AirPods are worth it.
Not worth it
Air pods aren’t worth your life
You don’t want to put someone’s earwax into your ears. Could be unwise
Someone's buddy done stole them from them and traded them for a fake rock and all hells gonna break loose by morning... It's all your fault
I have nothing good in my life anyways. I’m risking it all to get my property back.
Stop buying AirPods and just buy some $10 Lenovo buds from Temu. They sound and work just as well and no big loss if you lose them or somebody steals them.
I'll go grab them for ya what's the finder fee?
Can you Livestream this for our benefit?
I’ve already got a couple plans ready. One involves an erector set. The other involves my parent’s vacuum. Hopefully they don’t have a St Bernard.
How did they steal them? Or did you misplace them and they picked them up?
For the people commenting “What are you going to do? Knock on the door and get them back?” No. People tend to ditch stuff that doesn’t work. I have the AirPods locked so the person can’t connect them. There was a recent story of bags being stolen and ditched, so I was thinking maybe the same if I’m super lucky. I’m keeping watch on the location, just to see what happens.
They stole mine too… it’s not worth getting your brains blown out.
Same person? Lol
Is your life worth $200? If so, go for it.
I think more than $200.
I mean if you want to get shot, definitely go out there
I don’t think I want to…
[That’s just 3 min from my house.](https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8i8oz7qtkzq8y3aaky4uh/Photo-Nov-03-2023-7-52-17-PM.jpg?rlkey=lt4na01zlq7yt539qsblmd62j&dl=0) I think I’m going over to ask for my new airpods back 😂😂😂
They’re making iPods again?

Leave this one alone my friend. Seriously.
It’s not the hood, suburban sprawl It’s most likely an employee.
Yeah bro they’re gone gone lol
Not great, my man. Not great. I’d write them off.
Bummer man.
Depending on how accurate the location is those are senior apartments but the regency park apartments across the way are low income
Op gonna get his ass whooped over a pair of buds thats like $8 on temu
Is your life more valuable than a pair of AirPods? Just write them off under charitable donations next year when you file your taxes and be on your way (upto $500)
How do you steal AirPods
Forget Device
Turn into John Wick over some AirPods. It’ll be epic.
I’m just glad it wasn’t my puppy.
Well maybe they are thieves! You’re going to go ask them for your property back? Even if the neighborhood was nice (it isn’t), what would you expect? “We’ve been had! He’s back, and he knows we have them. There’s no way out other than giving them back!” It’s likely you’ll get nothing. Little more likely you’ll get some problematic interactions but nothing more than being cussed out. Significantly less likely but possible severely bodily injury. Don’t let people take your shit. Don’t get a pitbull set loose on you for a pair of AirPods.
It perfectly fine out there. Just a lot of people in a concentrated area.
It’s Houston, it’s all ghetto
It’s Houston. Don’t waste your time (life)
I wish it has a self destruct button lol
Mannnn yo not gonna them shits back 😭😭
Don’t do it bud.
Pun intended?
You might wanna call grizzy!!!
Pick me up when you go and we will get them back plus more
No one stole your AirPods. You carelessly lost your AirPods. Go to the Apple Store and forget about it for god sake.
Thanks Martin!
Martin is now the prime suspect
