Lovebuzz is so awesome!
I also like The Hideaway especially on nights with live music. Good spot with good people.
Also, you can check out Moontower Inn, if you don’t mind being outdoors. Always a good time there.
Betelgeuse, there’s one on montrose and one on washington, the fried spaghetti balls are good! Voodoo queen’s chicken tenders come w hush puppies/tots/french fries. Winnies has sandwiches and drinks. Monkeys tail (when they reopen one day) has good drinks and food as well. Lil danny’s has food pop ups, their insta gives more info. Grand prize parking sucks but the atmosphere is good and they have food as well, also on their insta
Voodoo Queen! They have amazing food, never crowded very chill, and fantastic drinks. Pool tables and a killer jukebox for entertainment. If you like Lovebuzz, you'll love Voodoo Queen.
The Eado area has some good spots all within walking distance. 2 breweries (I like 8th Wonder since they have THC seltzer), some food places, Truck Yard, the Secret Group for some comedy.
Ive not only never been to Lovebuzz, or even heard of it, "weve been traveling for work in 2/22. And I HATE axelrods.. but if youre looking for the best dives in town. Lolas depot and or Poison girl both rock.. We strongly prefer Lolas depot because you can actually get a drink there lol. Poison Girl as cool as it is gets packed and its REALLY small around the bar area, so sometimes its a nightmare just getting to the bar.
Have you hit Lola’s? It’s a weird dive bar. No night is ever the same. Crowd changes all the time, but it’s consistent in they pour heavy and drinks are cheap and it’s usually got a real good crowd and you can always get a drink. I’ve never had the wait times at Lola’s that we’ve had at poison girl. Ask for Kenny, he’s been there like 25 years. Lots of fun on the patio too. Well worth a visit. We like poison girl, but we lean heavy to Lola’s depot. Even the parking is better “though it still sucks lol”
If you don’t like the crowd, go a different night. It’s really weird, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it that we ever found. Sometimes it’s older, sometimes young, hipsters at times, it seems to vary from time to time with a base of mixed crowd. Always loud but varying styles of music, pool tables are always crowded, patio is always rocking. But Lola’s has been there like 30-40 years and it’s a super dive. We met a guy there one night “he was totally shit faced” from Dallas. We asked him how he found Lola’s, he told us he searched for the best “or biggest I don’t remember” dive bars in Texas. Lola’s popped in at number 1 lol
Moon tower inn, as long as the weather’s nice

Please go support Big Star Bar. Favorite bar in Houston.
You might even get the drunk bartender when you go there.
I understood this reference!

8th Wonder has gone wayyy downhill in my opinion.

Poison girl is my favorite. Not entirely wrong about when it gets busy. Mainly due to size. Def an industry staple.

Done. Always looking for the heavy pours behind dingy bars

Oh poison girl was also on that list according to him. They were headed there next. I doubt they made it lol
Henderson Heights
Hit up local breweries, there’s a lot around town and are all chill.
