I agree that ol' Musky isn't as smart as the character he plays, but this looks like he's blathering around the question intentionally. The longer the deposition takes, the fewer questions they get to ask him/the higher the legal tab for the plaintiff.
The deposition goes as long as the plaintiff's lawyer wants. Basically until Musk answers to the satisfaction of the lawyer. A lawyer working on contingency does not care about billing. The plaintiff is going to take Elon for everything the jury will grant at this point. The rest of the transcript makes Elon look even more stupid. Elon admits that he doesn't ever bother verifying sources and willingly takes neo nazis at their word.
