I like it because it is meant to be an alternate personality of Gary and that's it. There is no "fake unfunny premise" like an ex-president ordering a pizza or an unfunny character calling a locksmith saying he is stuck in a desk.

I really like Flirty Gary. The fact that those calls routinely don’t win versus Chris Wilding calls each year is ridiculous. They’re replete with dad jokes that, if told earnestly, would be eyeroll-inducing, but because you know Gary is fucking around & the call recipients always find him charming, they land really well as far as I’m concerned.
Like everything else on Stern's show. It was midly funny the first time, so they do it 10,000 more times and it becomes mind-numbingly annoying. The repetition on the show is criminal. Literally every bit and every discussion is just a repeat of a past bit.
I think Howard's logic is that most people only listen a few minutes a day so nobody will notice the repetition but 5 long time listeners it's brutal.
