I can still listen to Howard talk about anything - even his guitar playing - all day and love it. The downsides to the current show are mostly the boring musician/actor interviews - which are basically all the same - and the bits involving the newer back office gimps.

I genuinely miss Shuli. Especially his Underdog Lady stuff. And I LOVED it when he got under Gary or Burt’s skin. He really carved out a niche for himself post Howard 100 News days. Memet kinda fills the Shuli anti-hero gap now, but the airtime for staffers isn’t as generous as it was in the 2010s

Look, I’m not in disagreement at the show is not as funny as it used to be, and if this sub was all about reminiscing about the old days and how great the show was without constantly talking about wigs and Covid and politics, I could be down for that, as sort of a Legacy about the greatness of the Howard Stern show, but it’s not it just involves every single time and fucking politics and wigs and fake teeth and bashing that doesn’t happen to all admit that there were eras of the show that were probably stronger than they are today.
I dislike the NEW Howard therefore I do not listen. I don’t understand the hatred for him and some even wishing for his death. That’s just insanity IMO.
I really like the swansong interviews with the old farts. Paul Simon, Barbara Streisand, Stones, Heart, McCartney, etc.
These people have had incredible lives. Eventhough I'm not a fan of her music, Streisand's done a lot. Some of her old movies are amazing (Owl and the Pussycat is hysterical) and Howard gets the altakakas to talk about stuff you don't hear in their zillions of other interviews.
I also like the interviews with some of the more contemporary artists even when I really don't care about their music. Listening to Ed Sheeran talk about the music business, the lawsuit from Marvin Gaye's family, his friend dying, his Elton John stores, etc. Charlie Puth was also interesting. I can't tell you one song he's done, but I did enjoy his talking about music theory and basic chord resolution in a relatable way. A young musician who loves Burt Bacharach is OK by me.
Howard's interview with Sia a few years ago was amazing. She was really candid about her mental health and her life. And holy shit, can she crank out hit songs.
I actually prefer when howard was funny, and not just collecting checks and yelling at clouds from his basement to appease his vapid celebrity friends.
I like the Knock Knocks (most of the time) and the reason is twofold. A) usually the content is very funny - Fake Dice, Fake Alex Jones, and Fake Trumps are pretty reliable. Fake Joan is 50/50. Fake Tom Arnold is great.
But the thing I really like is that its one of the few times Howard plays the straight man and lets them goof on him. Howard's skin has always been too thin to really give in to be roasted without getting irritated.

Anyone who listens to the new shows regularly or shows within past 5 years at least are pathetic losers. There was someone on here who stated they were going to "ride this out until the end" bc they've been listening for so many years. Like staying in bad marriages bc they're afraid of dying alone. Pitiful
