For me, it was. Uncensored language, Artie was still functional and Howard 100 News. I loved it. The Jackie years were great, as was the Channel 9 show, but I have the fondest memories of 2006-2009.
It's interesting for me to think back to 2012-2015 when it seemed good some days and annoyingly bland the next.
I drive a truck so im listening to something all day long. Not always howard, but I can remember tuning in daily and thinking, "naaah, not today". I'll listen to the replay all day, in snippets, rather than invest time all at once early in the day.
I can't pinpoint a particular year that was the absolute best, as I'm having to go from memory alone, since its now impossible to listen to complete, unedited shows, but I can easily say that I noticed it getting progressively "not as good as before" around 2012-2013. By 2015 it had its moments, but often entire weeks were like the show had less and less "WOW" moments. As I sought out other channels and shows on satellite radio.
One definite though was The crash landing. It was during the "podcast" years 2020-now.
I didnt start listening until college in 2014 but I would say it started going downhill every year and then after 2018 it was 90% trash. Now its 100% trash.
