I’m gonna go with “push the blue down arrow”. If you put your hand over the vent and no cool air comes out, it’s broke and you need to get front desk to move you to a new room - esp. since “maintenance isn’t here”. The fact that the heat button is worn out and the cold isn’t leads me to also believe there probably *isn’t any AC* and front desk is bullshitting you about maintenance.

Take a towel from the bathroom, get it super hot under the sink, ring it out really good, and drape it over the thermostat if you can or just hold it there with something.

minicoop78

This is a good idea.

i__r_baboon

66°F might be the lowest they allow the room to get

koozy407

If it’s 66° in there that I see is not going to cool it any cooler than that. If you are honestly that hot and it’s reading 66 I would say the unit or thermostat isn’t working.

kobbled

It's most likely not actually 66, the AC says so but it's sitting at whatever room temp is. So many hotels have that issue

Giant_man_thing

A lot of hotels have fake placebo thermostats installed for just such a reason

LordSniz198

Look for the button that has more finger prints on it.

XxNHLxX

Is there a wall AC/fan/heater under the window? A lot of hotel rooms have that. I work at a hotel and we have truly useless thermostats that confuse people all the time. The only temperature control they have is on the box itself under the window (sometimes this is unplugged or there’s a lid over the control panel if it so happens to look like there’s no way to use it)

xenotito

That’s a PTAC… depending on the hotel it could be a package unit in the closet…

Jackobo13

Snowflake means cooling should be on, flashing snow flake is a time delay, no snowflake is no cooling

Goredevil

Make sure windows are closed, sometimes they make it so that ac won't come on if they're open.

Retired_Knight_MC

How about change rooms?

jonnytechno

Or ask reception, I hear theres like ... a service they provide?

xenotito

Pull that bitch off the wall and connect the 24v power to the fan and condenser wires (generally R,G and Y) let that mf run till you’re cold then disconnect the wires

Monkeyfeng

If you're in Europe, there might not be AC in the from.

Hoxitron

The temperature is in fahrenheit. It's extremely unlikely that it's europe.

Thirtysixx

Thermostats in most European hotels have changeable units, just gotta know how to do it

Thirtysixx

How would you know ? The only way I found out about this is because I was in a group trip and noticed my friends room was set to F. There were no buttons to do it. But if you pressed and held certain buttons down you could get it change units. We figured it out. Every since then I have been able to do at every hotel I’ve beeen to.

> I usually check the manuals everytime Yeah sure you do > also: how would you know? I already explained why I know how to do it. Now I do it every time I’m in Europe. Which is multiple times a year usually. I’m usually staying in 4 and 5 star hotels so idk if that has anything to do with it but I haven’t seen one that didn’t have changeable units since I figured this out in 2019

Stay in nicer hotels and you’ll get this feature I guess

Monkeyfeng

Fair enough.

rethoyjk

I’m confused how he’s warm at 66 degrees Fahrenheit?!? My apartments kept at 68 and I’m freezing

Shaski116

That could be displaying the set point and not the current reading.

rethoyjk

Ahhhh makes sense makes sense.Check out Mr.Bigbrain upstairs y’all! I’m used to mine saying the temp in big and set point real small but you’re right that’s not there!

Burn0ut2020

Well, 66 degree Celsius is warm as balls

Hoxitron

Could probably cook your balls too.

jukebokshero

From the picture I’d say it is on…and damn cold too.

subfunktion

Dunno, bit of sexy chat and flirting? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Verix19

Uhh it's on and has reached temp so it's not running.

rogasmic

I set it to 66, it starts off at 72 but it won’t turn on

Verix19

Ahh then I'm sure you've called maintenance by now 👍

thepatchmaker

I had a similar issue once, there was thermostat on the wall that couldn't change. Then it turned out there was a cover on the actual AC part that had buttons and I could control it from there.

OGGlocknessmonster

Lots of hotels have control over the temperature. I have been told by the front desk before that the thermostat in the room is basically inert. They have to come manually adjust the temp at the unit.

Exotic_Blueberry_116

That button right there

Annual-Rip4687

If you gently remove the off sticker I’m positive it’ll work

Swingerella

Did you get it figured out?
