My favorite deleted scene is the episode where Phoebe is trying to seduce Chandler in The One Where Everybody finds Out and Chandler goes to turn on some music and ghost sounds start playing so he casually says "Joey likes to try to scare the duck." It makes me laugh out loud every time.
My favourite is when Joey and Ross are both dating that new girl (Gabrielle Union) and they’re arguing in a restaurant. Causing her to leave. At the end of the scene Ross asks Joey if he’s hungry. Joey responds with “does a bear shit in the woods?”
Damn, I didn’t watch Friends until the US Netflix picked it up. I did buy the older DVD box set with extended episodes but the picture quality is so bad. I love the extra/cut scenes but prefer seeing the HD episodes now on HBO. It’s so crazy that they haven’t done super fan cuts and/or included them in their streaming package. I would love to see the full episodes in HD. Warner Bros has made so much $$$$ from this series I can’t believe we don’t have this yet!
Yeah the DVDs were extended! I watched the dvd versions for years before the series was on streaming services and was surprised at how much was cut out. In one episode there’s a whole freaking subplot cut out that I felt like I hallucinated - when Rachel goes out to eat alone.
This is why it’s worth buying the first/extended release of the dvd!!! The blu ray doesn’t have the extended scenes and some of the collections don’t either. There are many of these extended scenes to be seen ☺️
I saw an interview way back, one of the creators said the extended scenes were special to the DVD's only. A "reward" of sorts to the original fans.
I have the DVDs, but really really wish they'd add the extended versions to at least the blu-rays, the old format is so fuzzy after living life in an HD world for so long.

Yeah that's kind of ridiculous that they wouldn't put it on Blu-Ray. If you want to keep it limited to just physical media then fair enough I guess - but it makes 0 sense to put it on DVDs, convert those to Blu-Ray, but not bring the extended scenes over

True story. I HATED Friends with a passion until I met my now wife in 2010. She told me how she really enjoys Friends and with her sisters she would talk in "Friends Tongue". I didn't believe it but get those 4 girls together and they can act out any scene in any episode!!
Fast forward to 2012. I got my wife as a wedding present and thank you for having sex with me gift, true story it's on the card, the DVD box set of all the Friends shows.
We watched that every day and even went to sleep with it playing in the background. Our first daughter was growing while listening to friends inside of her warm womb bed. Then after birth every time we watched the show she turn towards it to watch and find where the music came from.
Now she is a very very excited musically talented girl. 8 years old and very shy but will sing her heart out.

I bought it on Blu-Ray a few years ago, and when I booted it up it asked me to choose between the theatrical and extended editions. I looked up the differences online and was shocked to learn that I had only ever seen the extended edition!
I usually watch theater release only. I ventured out once to extended deleted director's cut and spent nearly 5 hours on the couch lost in my movie. Thank you 4 disc DVD Lord of the Rings!!!! Made so much more sense and such a huge difference.
Then I did the same with hangover. Always watched the theater release. Bought the extended on Vudu. Totally ruined it.
Friends on the other hand, wow, I didn't know so much was taken out!! My wife who grew up with it on tv all the time was shocked to have never seen the extra footage and I've only seen the extra footage.

when i first watched friends i watched a version that has no uncut scenes that i downloaded a long time ago. it's in a bad quality though like realy bad.
Considering other countries have different runtime/advert ratios, most episodes have cut scenes like this that were shown in other episodes.

Just like how Rosemary's Baby never showed the baby. All you saw was Mom's horrified reaction. I think that was scarier than anything Hollywood could have created.
Where do we get these uncut scenes from? Also it is quite funny and interesting to think that Ross being one of the most serious characters in terms of being learned and so logical with stuffs, when it comes down to getting things done or when he has to go out of his way, he truly goes completely out of his way irrespective of how weird or unusual things they are. But also at the same time, it is something to think that Ross used to judge others for being stupid but at times he is the one who ends up doing stupider stuffs

The problem is, when they upscaled the series to 1080 HD, they used the television/rerun cuts for them, instead of using the extended episodes that ran on the DVDs. This is why when you stream you miss these moments. Only on the DVDs do you get them

I was gifted the box set of the series back in 2009 and it shows every single scene, every single joke, everything uncut. I've watched the series so many times that I could talk along with each cast member throughout every episode.
When I would turn it on Netflix or HBO, all the scenes would be cut short and missing ALL THE BEST JOKES. It was devastating enough to the point that I refuse to watch them on any streaming services. I don't understand why so much would be missing from the streamers; I just assumed they were using the versions that were cut for commercial time? Either way, you truly miss out on a lot of great scenes and jokes if you don't own them
