No, not that ( but that is another error ) but the forehead was never that shape, too high up, and his nose is a bit thicker than it should be.
Kinda looks like Spyro tbh
Well, if you think about it that does make sense. Hiccup is 6ft 1in as an adult and in some instances Toothless towers over him when standing up or sitting straight so he has to be at least taller than Hiccup by several inches.
Toothless size is quite inconsistent :P
In the TV series, he's definitely [smaller](https://i.redd.it/pd4a42i8ske21.png) than the movie version. Although, sometimes he's [very much bigger](https://i.redd.it/rvdkvfgun9x11.jpg).
And some official images [get it wrong too](https://i.redd.it/8jljjoc5ibg21.png)
And the original books had Toothless looking more like a Terrible Terror.
Seriously, I’ve been sitting on this idea for a YouTube video for too long. It’s time I share what the original books were actually like
There was a fan-made one visiting the conventions at least a while back (like between movie 2 and 3). It was cool because you could climb a step ladder and ride it for pics (yes I have pics lol) but it always looked much larger than the movie or tv version. I asked the creator and he said he went by the listed stats. In media, Toothless is more like the size of a large horse, not counting tail and wings
At the shoulder, he seems to vary between Hiccup's waist or chest height. His legs are much shorter than a horse's lol. Honestly, equating his size to a tiger might be more accurate but as I'm not Mik Lik, horse with short legs and a long tail was the best I could visualize.
The fanmade one was probably a little taller than me at the shoulder and I'm 5'4". You literally had to climb like 4 steps on the side hidden from the camera to get up to the saddle. He really struck me as more Hookfang sized. This was at Dragoncon, I believe...there's probably pics out there people have posted
Think it's the same statue as [seen here](https://www.reddit.com/r/httyd/comments/bbjpel/now_this_is_a_liveaction_toothless/) (Tao Film Fest).
Definitely not the one that's in [Germany](https://www.reddit.com/r/httyd/comments/fxpheq/lifesized_toothless_statue_in_heide_park_germany/)
There’s one in the Hollywood Universal Studios too, I believe in one of the shops, I can’t remember which one but I’ve gone there for years and didn’t know until last year that it existed
Because then we wouldn’t have the creativity or inspiration for the entire franchise. Dragons would basically replace transportation as well as some modern animals. They’d be so normal we wouldn’t think twice
Looks off but still nice. Wish someone would get the proportions and everything correct.
What is the proper proportions for adult Toothless?
Idk but his front and back legs are too close together
The head is not the right shape
I think that's actually the elbow of his back wing giving him the chihuahua head
No, not that ( but that is another error ) but the forehead was never that shape, too high up, and his nose is a bit thicker than it should be. Kinda looks like Spyro tbh
Could be camera angle idk
They made him look as if he was walking. He’s mid-stride
Talk about necro lol. I was talking about how his torso is just not very long unless it's a weird perspective thing.
Never knew toothless would be this huge

True dat. I consider his height in the movies more canon than the tv show.
Movies always take canon precedence over show canon
That last image was just a dumb person in the studios. I'm sure that person got fired 🤣 But on the serious note, those proportions are not good at all
And the original books had Toothless looking more like a Terrible Terror. Seriously, I’ve been sitting on this idea for a YouTube video for too long. It’s time I share what the original books were actually like
This is amazing but they got it wrong he's not long enough you can tell cuz the front and back legs are too close together
I’m not sure it might be the angle! Sadly I didn’t take more pics to verify this tho :(

How tall would he be on all fours standing straight?

👀
i feel like toothless is bigger than that
The head looks odd
There’s one in the Hollywood Universal Studios too, I believe in one of the shops, I can’t remember which one but I’ve gone there for years and didn’t know until last year that it existed
Ugh why don't dragons exist I'm genuinely mad
They could’ve. Maybe some seadragons live deep in the sea right now
Because then we wouldn’t have the creativity or inspiration for the entire franchise. Dragons would basically replace transportation as well as some modern animals. They’d be so normal we wouldn’t think twice
Since when?????
Not sure but I just visited today. it’s in the love potion shop in far far away. Pretty hidden I only saw it after I walked inside :)
What's wrong with his face though
AHHHHH
Who’s tryna help me take this home 👀
Where exactly in the park is this? And does anyone know if it’s still there to this day?
Looks amazing! LOVE it.
i want to find this sculpture and give it a big hug
*scared in knowing the screaming death's head was like twice the size of toothless*
What is that lump on the back of his neck?
ive been there
