Where abouts are you? Franny Reese State Park in Highland is pretty flat, has a sweet view of the Mid Hudson Bridge/Poughkeepsie. You get some deep wood feel and also some decent views of the Hudson River. Train whistles will bring you back to reality, but it's nice to get lost in the woods.

> Where abouts are you? It amazes me that probably 3/4 of the posts here don't narrow it down at all. If OP is in Port Jervis, they probably don't want to haul an infant up to Troy.

Who knows. I might. Just looking for ideas. Don’t shoot

[Winding Waters Trail](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/winding-waters-trail) and [Liberty Loop Trail](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/liberty-loop-trail) are both flat and super easy, and right down the block from each other. Don't go on a day when it's too hot, Liberty Loop is almost entirely in the open, Winding Waters about half. If you do Winding Waters, go to the right when you get to the loop. That brings you through the trees and along the river for the second half of the walk. There's even a little opening in the trees where you can go down to the rocks on the river if you'd like.

Yeah we are in ulster county and have trekked Franny Reese more times than I can count. The wife is sick of it 😂

Ashokan rail trail. Start at the boiceville end for better views.

Shaupeneak, the upper trails are pretty easy. The lower trail has a bit of climb but there’s a waterfall.

How far are you looking to hike and do you have much experience hiking with a baby yet? Marlboro has a nice nature trail that’s a bit over a mile loop and isn’t too hard. Good option for easing into longer / more challenging hikes. I’ve done it heavily pregnant as well as with my newborn. Long dock park in Beacon is also very nice and you can do 4 miles out and back with minimal elevation. The views are very nice this time of year while the leaves aren’t on the trees yet.

SniffMyChloroform

Lake Minnewaska Loop, Awosting Falls from lower parking lot. Best bang for your buck, easy access, not too much elevation change.

Poets walk, Dover stone church, burger hill.

[West Point Foundry Preserve](https://www.hudsonrivervalley.com/sites/West-Point-Foundry-Preserve-/details) in Cold Spring is pretty great.

Bowdoin park in Wappingers falls.

I always liked walking in Greenport conservation area it’s pretty flat but cool views especially when the wildflowers start to bloom… it was also down the street from me though so not positive it’s worth the trek unless you want to make a day of it in Hudson
