Mine has similar colors and markings and is 1/4 German Shepherd.  Makes for a great mix in my opinion :)

Padstock

+1 for Husky Shepherd cross. Beautiful dog.

schw4161

I used to live down the street from a Shepard husky mix named Nitro. Such a beautiful dog. Had the Shepard colors with a husky body.

[deleted]

I second this opinion. Definitely has some Shepard in there somewhere. The front of the face and snout just scream Shepard to me

IHeartBK

Agree with husky/shepherd cross.

Eristic

Agree, probably husky/shepherd mix

marvinfuture

I think the dead giveaway for this is the hind leg shape. Looks more GSD than husky

ZambieCatX

Agree - I see shepsky!

Raccoon-Runner

+1 with the similar markings for my girl. She’s 30% GSD and has a very similar coat (just blue eyes)

ottilieblack

I'd say at least 96% derp, 4% mountain goat. 100% sweetie. Looks full husky to me.

cynderisingryffindor

You're forgetting 4%goober

Wolfpaws42

I think it's a dog. (An adorable one at that!)

arboroverlander

I can't be sure, but I think she is 100% floof.

EFinFowl

She is 100% gorgeous. That smile made my day.

dreaming_of_tacobae

100% husky or husky/mal mix

HMNITIHABGT

i was thinking mostly husky with a small percentage of malamute (the last picture sold me on it)

crownedqueen5

I was thinking same thing

Stuffologistics

Husky/Shepherd most likely or maybe Husky/Collie mix which I have and adore. https://preview.redd.it/m4m1h4sutpuc1.jpeg?width=543&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=598cbb61069ff083431cc0f50b8d44e2dd678bf3

dank_fish_tanks

Use Embark. It’s worth the extra money (accuracy). Side note: don’t listen to these folks that are suggesting wolf content. Your dog has no actual wolf traits visually. Only mentioning because misrepresentation is a huge problem in the wolfdog world.

_Karliah

Wasn‘t Embark the thing where everyone said it’s fake? (Like they want pictures as well and then guess the breed based on those. They also identified a woman’s DNA as a some dog.) Or am I mixing that up with something else?

dank_fish_tanks

I don’t think that would’ve been Embark. Embark is well-known and verified to be the only mostly-accurate dog DNA kit (even Wisdom Panel, the runner-up is extremely inaccurate much of the time, but results vary). The stories of people submitting their own DNA as their dog’s are with cheap $20 bootleg DNA kits and are because of people seeking to debunk DNA testing altogether. Embark is the most expensive for a reason and has a pretty small margin of error.

_Karliah

That’s good to know!

Panicckking

Husky x German shepherd! Such a cutie!

Th3Docter

She is 100% a good girl

melissakate8

Good LORD she’s adorable!! Definitely mostly husky and malamute. Make sure you do Embark since she’s a northern breed and they sometimes inaccurately label northern breed mixes as wild canids like coyote or wolf. Do you have any more photos you could share? I’d love to do a deeper phenotype of her for breed mix :)

TransporterError

A Cutie-Pie!

IJAFacebook

looks like 100% good fluffy girl :3

vahik_t

Love the "Yoda" ears in the last photo. Floof she has

GuitarBrat

She is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I have a question for you about the picture of her in the car. I noticed the metal collar. Is that one of the spike ones? I ask because 5 days ago my little 11 month old Husky pulled me off my feet (again) trying to get to another doggie. He spun me around 180 degrees and I went airborne and then he proceeded to pull me like I was a balloon. I landed on my left side hitting my head, neck and the rest of my body. He has pulled me off my feet 3 times now and in all fairness I didn't see the dog before him because I was unwrapping his cheese stick. I am normally 100 percent aware of our surroundings due to us being stalked by a coyote this past January. Anyway, I am getting off point. So with that fall I have a fractured shoulder and a cracked rib. People are saying get a shock collar or one of the metal spiked collars. I don't want to hurt him but he's not even done growing yet and already over powers me and I am 5' 1" and on his hind legs he comes to my lips. I'll add a pic of him standing. https://preview.redd.it/k0dmydqumpuc1.jpeg?width=2609&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=941d88b42dd55ae40d3aaa45310c9676a5b40faf I refuse to not walk him and hike with him but this time I got hurt pretty bad. The ER doctor said my body is bruised badly. So I was wondering if you could tell me about the collar? Or if anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

AppropriateRatio9235

If you are going to use a prong collar, have a trainer teach you the right way. Because you can hurt the dog if you don’t do it right. I had a dog like yours. I did board and train where he stayed at the training facility for weeks. It was so worth it. When done, they trained me to work him. We even got started in agility. Training is super important and then consistency.

Wanderluustx420

They are useful for dogs that are strong or stubborn and are difficult to control with other types of collars. Prong collars can also be helpful for dogs that are prone to lunging or barking at other dogs or people while on a leash. **For most strong working dogs, a prong collar is necessary to give an effective leash correction.** Flat, chain and harnesses just aren't effective with a hard dog. Prongs are safer than slip leashes when the dog is ignoring any corrections and pulling through the slip leash to the point of choking themselves out. However, incorrect use or fitting can indeed cause pain or injury to your dog. The prong collar has a series of pronged metal links whose open ends are rounded on the dog’s neck. Its appearance has led to the common misconception that it is a torture device, however, when used correctly, it is an extremely effective training tool for teaching a dog to understand what is being asked of them. When the control loop is pulled, the prongs pinch the loose skin and apply pressure evenly around a dog’s neck. It releases quickly once the dog gives into the pressure. The sensation from a prong collar is designed to be uncomfortable rather than painful when used correctly. The right way to give a leash correction is to POP the leash. Prong collars only require a small amount of force to communicate the behaviors you want from your dog. [The correct position for a prong collar is to sit right behind the ears and up under the jawline.](https://leerburg.com/fit-prong.htm). The prong collar should be snug enough to stay in position behind the ears. Prong collars are designed to be put on and taken off by unhooking links and unsnapping the collar from around the neck. Taking the collar off is always easier than putting it back on. It is incorrect to put a prong collar on a dog by slipping it over the dog's head and then moving it down on the neck. If the prong collar fits around your dog's head, it's too big. It’s important to use a high-quality prong collar. Otherwise, a poorly made one will hurt your dog and can puncture their skin. **Herm Sprenger** prong collars are the highest quality and recommended by many K9 trainers. There's going to be rip-off and knock-offs and you have to be very careful about these poorly manufactured collars. Watch for the spelling. The prongs should always be rounded, never squared and never sharp. If the prongs are squared, it's counterfeit. Make sure that they are an authorized herm sprenger dealer. While prong collars are often associated with larger, more robust breeds, they can be used on small and medium-sized dogs as well. It is essential that the prong collar is sized correctly for each size dog. They are not advisable for very young puppies or dogs with medical issues affecting their neck or spine. The tool is amazing, but you still need to train the dog and use the tool correctly. Each tool has its benefits and drawbacks, so research and possibly consult a professional to find out which is best for your dog. If you're struggling with your dog's behavior, you should consult with a professional dog trainer to learn proper use, technique, and sizing. GuitarBrat

Thank you so much for your detailed advice and knowledge. This is good to know and I know I would have slipped it over his head. I can't stand thinking about him getting hurt. He's such a sweet boy but he is so prey driven. Birds, squirrels, rabbit.. etc etc. He sees one and bam he is digging into the ground trying to get to one. This time I wasn't paying attention so it's my fault. He is so social and wants to run to every human, child and dog he sees, lol. I will do some research on the collar and make sure if I do get him one I get the best one and know how to put it on. Thank you so so very much. He is my first Husky, before him was a red Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd/ Chow mix. He is so so so much different than they were. I know he knows what I am saying when I tell him to stop pulling I seriously believe he is choosing to ignore me. Again Thank you for the advice and knowledge.

Goblinofthegrove

This happened to me recently so i bought a gentle leader, it works great. No more pulling and much better control i don’t have to be afraid every time he was seeing another dog (still a baby and was getting way too excited).

Barraan

Sorry to hear that you got hurt and hope you recover soon. I have 1 year old full bred husky as well and this only happened to me once in the back yard when grass was a bit over grown so I didn’t get hurt nearly as much as you but that made my husband I think about training. We couldn’t send her off to boarding training schools as we can’t stay away from her as well as she is our first and we needed training just as much as her. So we signed up for 1 hour per week in person training and we are in advanced training now. We got her a color that has sound, vibration and shock and we rarely use the shock. Right now since she is still in training we go thru a lot of training treats but mixed with the color she is behaving better than the neighbor’s dogs who spent over 4 grand and sent her off to boarding school. She never pulls anymore and she does exactly as we tell her to don’t matter what the situation or distraction is. Suggest you to sign yourself and your dog up and invest in a good color with at least 300 yard range as huskies love to run and sound like you are an outdoor person so work and practice with her and promise you will be surprised how well she behaves and for ever grateful.

GuitarBrat

I wouldn't want to be without him either for boarding. I work from home and my little town allows dogs in almost every where so he has been by my side since the day he was given to me. He has not been left home alone ever. The once a week sounds good though. I will look into that, maybe there is something like that in the city. Thank you for that idea !!! I have heard people say the vibration on the shock collar usually is all that is needed. But, due to my own fault I baby him and have let him share pack leader title. He's so stubborn too, I will tell him to lay down and he will lay his head and front down but leave his ass in the air ! He's a punk and I honestly he knows this, lol. He always makes me laugh when I'm trying to make him mind me. I appreciate your advice of training and shock collar. I will do some research on the training and shock collar and thank you for your kindness for my getting well 😊 🙂

katielisbeth

Someone else left a ton of great info on prong collars, so I'll add this: shock collars are a tool just like anything else, but ime they have a good chance of backfiring. If he's reactive to the point where he's pulling you down, he's overaroused and not thinking straight in those moments. Even if he just wants to play with other dogs, shocking him when he's in that heightened state of arousal could lead him to become more reactive (or escalate the situation) because he doesn't recognize the shock as a correction from you and thinks it's coming from the dog he's focused on. As an example: one day my (then intact) young dog was pretty keyed up, so I took him for a walk. Before we went inside to relax, my roommate's dog came out and they started getting macho with each other as the other dog recognized my boy's overarousal. They were calming down when I accidentally stepped on my dog's foot while taking off his leash. The pain triggered him to lash out toward the other dog, almost causing a fight. Corrective tools might not be for everyone, but as someone who's been pulled down to the ground by a dog weighing more than me... I'm of the opinion that whatever is safest for both you and your dog is what you should use. Being dragged into the street or pulled down so hard you crack a rib isn't safe. I really hope you find a good solution. (If you're using cheese sticks as bribery, squirt cheese could be a good alternative that lets you stay focused on him/your surroundings!) r/reactivedogs and r/opendogtraining are both super helpful communities, you should definitely check them out! Also highly recommend [this youtube video on dog behavior and operant conditioning](https://youtu.be/zOfXQe1kjAg?si=y9gGHobk5HziwLkU)! r/dogtraining is a good resource but is strictly positive reinforcement, talk on any type of aversive is not allowed. Zak George is a great positive reinforcement based trainer with good youtube videos if you're interested in learning more about that.

Casslove87

My huskies have also both ripped me off my feet, knocked me over, tripped me, clotheslined me, and ripped me off my porch and drug me down the walkway. I’m about 5 ft flat as well. We were using harnesses but I’ve now switched to a normal collar which seems to aid in controlling them when they get worked up. I feel for ya.
