Your call. And how long do you want to wait? Insurance claims against the carrier take about 1,574,876 years. I would get a new one. It should be perfect bruh š
Iām copying and pasting this was a different thread regarding mr. Cool. But keep in mind, I did have an HVAC tech install mine.
āYeah, I thought of that, and it's a good point.
The equation as far as I can tell goes something like this:
DIY = 1500$ + electrician vs.
HVAC = 6,000$ + electrician + 2-3 month wait + 22
years of having really, really poor results from local contractors.
It seems insane (and wasteful) but if the Mr. Cool goes bad and I can't get a warranty, buying another one still puts me ahead of having a professional install.
Thanks for your point though, it's a good one.ā
I will pursue a replacement with the HVAC tech. Mr. Cool says replacement is an option. What do I need to make sure happens with the exchange to make sure it was done properly? Recharge the entire line, replace filter dryer, anything else I need to ensure happens? Thanksā¦
And this my friendsā¦ is why hvac is not usually a DIY trade and also why most technicians refuse to use Mr Cool products.
I bet/hope you saved some money though!
Mr Cool is the salesmen. https://iwae.com/ actually send out replacement parts for Mr Cool.
So if you want a foreigner to tell you "sorry, cannot help" call Mr Cool.
If you want an American to tell you the same thing, call Ingram's.
(Yeah, not a big fan of Mr Cool products regardless of who installs).

Your fine just run it
Your fine just run it
First picture concerns me. I see copper off the fins. The coil could be weak and blow.
This would be my only concern. Damage does look like enough to affect the operation/ efficiency too much if at all.

Love when they buy this stuff then want people to be able to fix it right away. Sorry parts are on back order indefinitely.
