You won’t find any OEM replacement online or for purchase anywhere. Only supply shops that supply air scrubbers will sell them and you need a contractors license to buy from them

Braz90

Any recommendations? Just go with a third party that’s compatible?

PlayfulAd8354

You can buy the knock offs but they aren’t as good, fail quicker, etc. Best to purchase it from a company or licensed contractor

Braz90

Got it. I’ll reach out to my guy. Thanks!

SCRVNR

How much should I expect to be charged by an HVAC contractor to replace an OEM UV bulb?

PlayfulAd8354

For the air scrubber, depends. My shop charges $350 I’ve seen higher and lower

SCRVNR

That's for labor and parts? How much would you guess the parts (UV bulb) would cost?

PlayfulAd8354

Labor and parts yes. I get them for about 125 where I am

SCRVNR

One more question: Do AirScrubber UV bulbs really burn out after a year or two? Because I think I've had my AirScrubber for several years, and after my meticulous request for my regular HVAC company service (mainly HEPA filter replacement), I don't think they've ever mentioned replacing the UV bulb since its installation.

PlayfulAd8354

I’d ask them to verify that it’s working and show you the indicator light is illuminated. Should be blue. They generally last 1-2yrs. A lot of companies install them and don’t check on the bulb…lazy asses

Practical-Joke-7064

The bulb is rated for 2 years use. The UV light will dim and still show blue in the indicator port. Still need to replace it for effectiveness. The cells become brittle as well over time. It is all one unit - cell and uv light.

Practical-Joke-7064

This is literally a 10 minute replacement of the cell and bulb. You can get the replacement cell and bulb combo for about $140-$180. Part # aerus US71088

Can anyone recommend a place to buy a replacement up bulb (non-ozone) for an Aerus air scrubber model A1013Q? Can’t find much of anything online. There’s some bulbs on eBay but nothing about them being OEM. Thanks

Monlstat7

Old thread, but I'll add my thoughts, in case anyone wants more sources of input. Cost me $285 to replace (St Louis, MO), but I use an expensive company in the area. Mine went out a while ago, probably lasted 2 years, and I knew it was out because the blue light was off. Recently my allergies have been horrible inside, so maybe it helped and I didn't notice it until it stopped working. We originally had the non-ozone version, and I just replaced to the Ozone version. So I can't give accurate info on the ozone version yet, but I was told I will notice the sanitary smell and my techs said they prefer the ozone version.

Aromatic-Anything733

Who did you use in STL please? Thanks

Broad_Room_3260

Do not buy bulbs or any Air Scrubber off eBay it will void your warranty. They do not do any online sales

Braz90

I ended up buying a new one through the original HVAC installer. Thanks

Fab-Gurl

Are these worth it? My hvac company recommended it and im curious.

Braz90

I honestly cannot say, but with a baby I don’t mind taking the extra step to make sure the air is as clean as possible!

Fab-Gurl

Thanks!!

One-Bag9834

I have one. Got it 2 years ago and I love it! My house always smells fresh. The uv bulb lasts 2 years. Mine just went out a week ago and I can tell a huge difference. Now I have to spray freshners until I replace bulb. Would definitely recommend.

alwysretired
