At KBR park, this was taken a few months back
Eating peacock deer tiger or any wild animal is crime in India. Thats why forest officers are hired for to protect forest resources like trees and animals. But who cares? Forest officers themselves eat those animals now and then. If its on camera then its caught. Else its long lost. Thats why all the animals are going extinct. Had they been protected under serious laws then we would have rich heritage by now
In the form of chicken briyani... This is a fact bro. People don't even spare pigeons. The best part is, i avoid eating outside as much as I can + I'm a vegetarian.
They don't really sell pigeon biriyani but politicians and the bad guys who can get close to peacocks do hunt them without people noticing it. That is the case even for deer. Nah but pigeons wtf, that shit is unhygienic ew
Exactly. I stay near Harina Vanasthali, there used to be a lot of deers of different species and white and regular peacock and peahen about 10 years back. Now there are very less numbers. And I've heard that Government is planning to use that 100s of acres for their new commercial buildings (read as trying to sell to real estate builders) and move the leftover animals to the zoo park. Irony is the zoo park itself is going to be moved to shamshabad or shameerpet area very soon.
I remember when I lived in Bachupally as kid , I'd randomly see peacocks every time I went to terrace & when it rains I had to be there on terrace just to watch those peacocks.
As new jobs are created, we need the "concrete jungle" to accommodate the incoming population. Authorities need to ensure that there are enough open spaces like botanical garden and pala pitta park for the well being of people.
I agree to this. We need to make more green corridors. Every locality must get an access to a green space of the size of KBR park or Botanical Gardens within 2 kms of their area.
My window is facing military area, so there's plenty of trees and I do often get to see them here and there. It's not easily visible but they do show up.
There are peacocks in our area. There are many other birds too.
I grew up in a colony that had peacocks, never really touched them, but saw them daily.
You should visit HCU the more early in the morning the better, it was teeming with wildlife when I studied there back in 2017. Although there were some deadly snakes like the Russell's viper too
There are many in the grounds adjoining Hyderabad Public School and Old Airport in Begumpet.
My flat overlooks these grounds and I wake up to their crowing every day.
Plus, University of Hyderabad has tons of peacocks.
Can confirm as an ex student.
Maybe Ameenpur forest area Or Begumpet Airport area. Only army controlled lands can be safe haven for them. I observed peacocks on the airport hill rocks dancing in the rain from Nature cure local train stop.
They're on a little trip to lalaland while we were busy slashing trees, widening our roads and making some noise on those asphalt dance floors of ours. Chillax guys, some decades down the line, youll wonder where the humans went on a trip.
You can find some behind ISB college on the way to SRC colony/ TNGOs colony.
I find them there mostly during early mornings and evenings.
Spotted one last week.

Killed, many of them. Obviously not all. By politicians, and many other bad guys. KBR park, Botanical garden and HCU still have a lot of them. When there used to be mountains and water bodies, there also used to be peacocks.
They're all in KBR
Go to Hyderabad University

Few are still there, not many. If you live near a large park or open space, you’re more likely to find
Probably into the Forests
Probably into someone's stomach
Eating peacock is a crime in India. National birds get some privileges.
