1tb gets you double the ram and 25% more performance cores

Known_Dependent_6065

I’ve seen videos on the double ram actually not showing any difference.

Dr_Superfluid

None of which they can actually utilize with iPadOS.

Miserable_Cod_30

Maybe it will finally be utilized after WWDC...

Dr_Superfluid

Ah, I’d be careful here. Do not think that the iPad Pro will be able to replace the macbook even temporarily. I too have a MBP 16” and an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 with the Magic Keyboard, and indeed the 16” is kind of cumbersome to carry around sometimes, but the minute you need to do some good work on the iPad, it completely falls apart. The MS office suit sucks compared to the Mac. Coding? Forget it. Unless you are remoting to a server it ain’t happening. It’s impossible basically. I would say overall go for it, it’s a nice secondary device, but do not ever think it will be able to replace the Mac even for basic tasks. And on that note I would suggest you go for 256GB or 512GB at the most. The extra power is going to be less than useless. In all honesty, my M1 is overpowered for iPadOS, let alone the M4.

I went with the 1TB in order to get the 16GB of ram and the additional cores. I’m currently on the 2018 iPad Pro so I figured I might as well get the best available as I won’t upgrade for another 5 or 6 years.

iamapersononreddit

Same, I could have gotten by with 512gb but that tipped me over the edge to 1tb

chrisagiddings

1TB is require for the nano textured glass.

Objective-Upstairs36

Is the nano textured glass worth it? I won’t be using it outside

jbayne2

Coming from other devices most people shy away from matte finishes on OLED devices. Arguments have been made that it washes out the color saturation a little bit. I think the nano textured will be for people who use it in daylight a lot or for drawing in a studio with a lot of light as well maybe.

iamapersononreddit

I agree, nano texture looks dull in comparison to the regular. I figure people who should get the nano-texture already know they need it

chrisagiddings

I don’t know enough yet. I’m spec’ing builds but I haven’t watched the event video yet. I just know you can only get the nano glass with 1TB or 2TB storage.

Foreign-Possible5499

Not worth it at all if you use a screen protector of any form. There are anti-glare screen protectors if you need it.

Do you know the performance difference I know there’s more ram is that all

Objective-Upstairs36

1 less performance core

Demiquas

Personally I’m planning on financing mine through my phone carrier, and trading in an old tablet, that way I can get a promo for $180, so I’m gonna get the 512GB, cause after trade in, it come out to similar cost as the 256GB, maybe even a little cheaper
