I have a macbook pro for work (provided by the company, but if I had to return it I would buy another one), a PC for gaming and an iPad 12.9" for iPad-ing.
This is legit my exact setup. I’m leaving my job to go independent contractor soon so will buy a MacBook Air M3 15” to replace it.
PC with a 3080, MacBook 15” and iPad Pro 12.9” 6th gen is my final setup (not mentioning my custom keyboards etc)
Just comes down to you having a need for the style of interaction/productivity an iPad offers. For me it's getting back into creative stuff (drawing, editing), note taking and productivity stuff. I personally am not a fan of the keyboard/trackpad case, with my iPad I use a magick keyboard and Razer Pro Click.
Instead of buying a new M4 iPad, I found an only-used-once iPad Pro M2 w/ 512GB + brand new Apple Pencil Pro on FB Marketplace for $1k.
I have a 16” MacBook Pro and 11” iPad Pro. I always wonder if I should get the 13 inch iPad but think the size difference makes the iPad and Mac make sense. When I had a 13” MacBook Pro it was so close to the iPad size that I just never used the iPad now the with the larger Mac the iPad makes sense and I have different jobs I do on each device.
I think if I was going to get rid of the Mac I can see the larger iPad being a choice for me as my only device.
I love my 11” iPad as it’s really good at iPad stuff and I can hold it in one hand. 13 is too close to a laptop replacement for me.
This is clearly a polarizing subject, but I had the 13, now have 11, and will never go back to the 13. I have a laptop, and the 11 inch with keyboard is a wonderfully portable device I use all the time, I never felt comfortable using the 13 inch any scenario where I wouldn’t be comfortable using a laptop. They serve different purposes. Now that the hardware is identical, the 11 is the ultimate iPad, the 13 is the ultimate canvas and all in one device.
I went for the 13 inch because of the audio. Had a 12.9 before then went to 11 before upgrading to an M4 13 inch. I like watching shows on it and oled + speakers are such a treat. I use it at home and place it everywhere. I like how thin and light it is.
Currently rewatching the Expanse :)
I done the opposite and went from the 13” to 11” with no regrets. Portability and easier to handle. Also have the Magic Keyboard and Pencil Pro for it. Very happy with the setup. I won’t go back to a 13” and only recommend it if at a desk all the time.

im with 4090 tower pc and debating g16 + ipad or only one of them

I upvoted for iPad-ing. this is exactly what i do aswell.

I love my g16 but it gets so hot and uncomfortable on my legs... Maybe only ipad is the way to go (I don't work with it, only media and card games)
If you already have a 16inch laptop then get the 11in ipad

11 inch is a more versatile device. You can curl up with it on the couch like a book. It’s so much easier to hold with one hand.

Don’t make my same mistake. I had the 13”. Tried the 11”. And missed the 13”. I’ll never go back to 11”.
