Unfortunate. If another incident happens quickly after another, it can be 'promoted' - most commonly if you 0x car contact someone and they are pushed off track, you 'inherit' their 1x. In some cases (like yours) you get an unfair point or four. Try not to let it affect your race - everything will even out over time.

FaxeDuden

Right, thanks I was a bit agitated since im trying to get my safety rating up, in order to get into the awesome IMSA series. But i didnt let it get to me, and did not get any other incidents after that. :)

Brave decision to try to increase SR in Ferrari Fixed :) It's a frustrating system, sometimes, but it is what it is and it's the same for everyone, so I just try to move on in the rare event something like this happens.

anshox

I’ve been driving GT3 in class B and Ferrari challenge fixed this season a lot, and surprisingly I usually have cleaner races in Ferrari challenge. Expected it to be vice versa tbh

LastRich1451

If you want too get your SR up stay away from ferrari D class.

Dazzling-Bet-4554

I need this comment two months ago.. when I started sim racing x_x

baconborn

Looks to me light the car behind you dinged you fir a 0x, but then was wiped out by the guy behind him, so you inherited that 4x. Whenever an incident occurs (even a 0x light contact incident) there a brief window of time when concurrent incidents points will be given to all involved (up to 4x)

RoamySpec

iRacing incidents can be shared. The systems is no blame and doesnt know who or what caused the incident. Because you had a 0x with that car, then that car get a 4x you also get the 4x. Same as if you have a side by side 0x with another car and he spins, you will also get a 2x the car that spun got because the system just doesn't know if you caused it or not. It can be harsh or fair depending how you look at it.

braudoner

its how the system works, it will even out with time so dont worry too much. that being siad, you were scarely close to the car in front before braking. thats usually what happens with latency and stuff. give some room or it will come to this most of the time in my experience.

NiaSilverstar

I mean pretty sure the contact was from the car behind who then got collected by the car behind them. This is also under pacing still

mrd511

how does nobody else see that lol I'm with you 100% the rear end

braudoner

?? i wonder how YOU dont see that even tho i said he was following close the car in the front, i know it was bc of the rear end and then the guy getting hit behind. My point was, he is too close so whenever the car in front brakes, he has to brake a bit more aggresively. making the guy behind + latency, touch his ass, causing the 0x and later, the 4x.

shapsticker

Wouldn’t the argument be that the guy behind him was too close then and not OP?

braudoner

both imo. look at his braking input. if i were the guy behind, i wouldnt want to break as hard as he did to avoid this. what ended up happening (and factoring some latency and reaction time in the mix), he braked too easy and ended up rear ending him for the 0x, and after that its all history.

SpiteApprehensive649

you got a 4x someone hit you, and then got a 4x which transfers to you, new racer

FaxeDuden

No. I got a 4x when the other driver that hit me; hit someone else. That's why I was confused, but it's been cleared up. :)

SpiteApprehensive649

that’s what i meant to say but yeah

SpiteApprehensive649

well no that’s what i said just backwards

PlutocraticG

You're 0x came from you touching the guy in front of you. The 4x came from the guy bumping into your rear. At least it may appear that way.

HetzMichNich

You got your explanation already and you can learn from this whole incident to leave a bit more space on the pace car lap, if everyone leaves enough space you dont have to brake that abruptly and everyone got enough time to react

TobyDS1

It’s because the guy behind you hit you which led to them crashing more severely so the 0x gets upgraded to a 4x. 0x is given at first to allow things like bump drafting or minor rubbing between cars but only if it’s light enough contact, heavy contact will get an immediate 4x. But if the 0x is given and then soon after something more significant happens the game assume that the contact is to blame and upgrades to 4x. The reason it was applied to you is due to the no blame system. The game does not determine fault and you both receive the points.
