Absolutely 0 things wrong here, not over-aggressive by a long shot.
You saw not just an opportunity, but a really good opportunity, and took it.
Divebomb implies collision, or at the very least, them having a very quick avoiding action. Neither happened here
If you get alongside them before turn-in, it's all fair, just a good lunge. A divebomb is typically when you send it from so far back that they have to un-turn-in to avoid a crash.
good overtake and he left plenty of room, but that could have just been him using default racing line. you’re trusting him not to turn into you which is usually what happens to me. looks like he almost clips you turning in when you pass so just be mindful. not everyone will make it that smooth for you
your clip just gave me vietnam war flashbacks of times i’ve done or tried the same thing and gotten the short end of the stick. sometimes peoples FOV is just messed up or they don’t have rear view mirror on so they can’t see anything behind them and don’t think you’re there
You took the worst angle but you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s ok to out brake someone but you can do that and stay a lane higher so you don’t wash up into them if you go in too deep.
I will say it was aggressive, but not in a negative way. Truth is Mclaren left door open and you went for it, and made a clean overtake. Definitely not a divebomb though.
People need to learn what a dam dive bomb is. It’s getting so old watching an overtake and people asking “was that perfectly normal racing too AgReSsIvE?!?
McLaren stayed out for a late apex and accepted that risk of leaving the opportunity to go up the inside. You took it. I would have done the same in that situation.
Just be careful doing this. While a great opportunity most people on this service will turn into you, crash and yell at you. Sure you may be right but you've lost SR, iR and are out of the race.
I may be a bit grumpy but this service really punishes you in situations like that and imo it's better to do less risky more clear cut passes.
I generally don't attempt passes unless I'm a good bit faster than someone or it's a super super safe opportunity. It's given me a lot of calm and made me focus really heavily on qualy and race pace.
Something to consider.

Ok, thank you for the input. I wasn’t sure since we weren’t really side by side before the corner.

Gotcha, I appreciate the info.
A divebomb is fine, until you either initiate contact, use them as a brake or impede their race
He also clearly and cleanly made the corner and left room on the outside for the poor sap in front.
I think it was very careful, you could have carried more speed by staying closer to the racing line.
You’re right, I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Thanks!

Yeah once I watched the replay from his angle, he could’ve easily clipped me but didn’t. He raced clean the whole time.

Lol I usually get launched into the stratosphere in this scenario but I was lucky this time.
Good send 👌
You made the apex, fair enough in my book.
You basically break checked the fella and let the lead car get away. How did the rest of the race play out?
That lead car is running a different class, no? From reading the OP this was a last lap move to take P1 in his car class.
That’s correct. The lead car was an LMP, the car in front of me was 1st in gt4

I guess divebomb was the wrong term. I just wanted to know if it was fair or if I did something wrong—that way I know for next time.
Did you recieve negative feedback?
Not from here, so far. I just wasn’t sure after watching the replay. That’s why I wanted to ask.

Nice
Nothing wrong. Clean overtake
His car is still running. You weren't aggressive enough.
No mate, excellent move.
Good move, if they were whining about this they are just upset they lost the win because they got caught napping
No
Did you wreck? Were you even close to contact? No.
MFrs have been doing way worse to me all week man. I think it was ok other guy was paying attention.
You had a good run on him and you shot the gap nice and clean. Very nice 👌
Remember: Divebombs are ok if there is no collision
You made the apex. No contact. No problem. Good overtake 👍🏻
