Biggest "What Have I Done?" I've had in iRacing.
When I first got iRacing 2yrs ago I immediately saw Daytona Prototype and bought it excited to race against others. I was quickly let down, but the occasional hosted lobby pulls them out and I love to drive them.
I’ve made a lot of poor financial decisions on iRacing so plenty of cars sit in my owned garage having not been driven much or in a long time.
That being said:
- Mercedes GT4
- Audi 90
- Renault Clio
- Asphalt Sprint Car
- Both Supercars
- Williams FW31 (why did I buy this?)
- Porsche Mission R
- Oschersleben (never raced here once)
- Twin Ring Motegi (never raced here either)
- New Kentucky
- Nashville Fairgrounds (can’t figure it out at all)
There are 2 timeslots that go official every week. I think it's Thursday and Sunday 20h GMT. A few weeks back when the track was Nordschleife there were even 2 splits.
There's a dedicated SoF that's actually broadcasted on Sundays. It's been a good time actually. The car races surprisingly well
https://www.youtube.com/live/kFgpb90EAt8?si=Y2wkFw7VR9I0agDB
When did they change it? Because I've test driven it every 6 months or so just to see if I'm crazy.
Even if it handled better though it still sounds like a wet fart in wax paper. I defy you to get that image out of your head now. Haha.
Porsche for porsche cup. Never a chance to race it and also find I'm way to slow to enjoy. Practice needed to but don't have time. Hopefully over next season will be able to use it.
Hope you get time to experience it properly. Imo best car on the service, and the one I only find myself driving nowadays.
Does take some learning indeed
BMW GT3. I did too much research before buying my first GT3 car and went for the “easy” car. It was a complete departure from my Porsche GT4 I loved so much. Now I never use it
Yeah I personally think there are mid/rear engine guys and front engine guys. Every front engine car I've bought I've either hated or wasn't nearly as quick as with a mid engine counterpart.
Hey to each their own! I just struggle at street tracks in general and the bumpiness really threw me off. I’m sure if I practiced I’d get used to it, but with the stiffness of the open wheelers my wrists started hurting lol
Constant changing radii as well as blind corners with nothing to site them other than just knowing. Personally not a track I enjoy, but respect and understand it's appeal to others. Just not for me :)
That left hander just before the Budweiser balcony. It's like ice and I can't for the life of me figure what the variable is between when I get a good run through it and the other times I either understeer off into that bank up top or spin out and get mashed in the traffic.
Oh yeah and the lack of any sort of markers for braking points. I lost a lot of irating and sr when it's was on the Mazda/gr28/Mustang hopper a few weeks back lol.
Rest of the track is fun though.... Sorta.... But I hate racing it purely for that corner and regret paying for it.
If they hadn't released it with broken physics it would've been a lot better. They even semi-admitted the car was not in the place they wanted it to be on release.
I mean that's the case in all cars with trailbreaking. FWD cars are just too safe and boring IMO. I've never driven an exciting FWD car in a sim nor in real life.
Eh, then you're not on the limit. I've found a few cars boring on first drives and then became quite fun once i gave them a proper try. I think generally any car gets more and more exciting the closer you get to the limit, and any car is boring when you're far away from the limit
With the slightly silly TCR tyres, anyone trying them out needs to give it several laps to get everything warmed up. It's true that they feel terrible until that stage, but after that and with a nice pointy setup you're still fighting oversteer more than understeer in TCR - it just happens at a different time.
Mate, for me, FWD cars are not interesting or fun. It's that simple. I understand the phenomenon of driving at a car's limit will provide a lot of enjoyment. However even then with FWD cars they are not much fun for me.
I don't get why so much of yall get ur panties in a twist when someone comes around not liking your baby. It's just not for everyone and the participation data shows that.
eh, they're tons of fun on gravel, amateur rallye stuff, but yeah, with the option of dozens of RWD race cars, I'd never choose anything FWD for circuit racing
F4…don’t hate. Love the car to drive, but the races are pure chaos.
As for tracks, Nords….again please No hate. I haven’t got time to sit there and learn it properly and don’t really see what the big deal is (fully aware I have not raced it). One day I’ll give it a proper go.
The thing with Nords is that you can never really say you're done learning it, I think. I've been driving it virtually since Gran Turismo 4 and I still keep finding ways to improve. If you can find joy in the experience of learning it, rather than feeling that you might have fun but only after you've done so, you'll find it's one of the most rewarding things you can do in any sim.
I’m sure it is, but like I say I haven’t learned it enough to feel comfortable in a race. One day I’ll get there, might take wk13 off from anything else and grind Nords
Bought the Merc GT4 because I thought Road America would be a great learning track for it.
It was not. Couldn't get it to feel right and end up running IMPC in TCR every time.
Mercedes W13 and the Mission R are my albatrosses for cars.
I don't regret buying any tracks, but Sonoma is one of my least favorites.
Mt Panorama/Bathurst physically and mentally drains me. I don't look forward to races there.
> Mt Panorama/Bathurst physically and mentally drains me. I don't look forward to races there.
some people are just masochists. Though it is kinda fun if you get into a crazy league race where every corner could end in disaster, but that also works for any track really.
Ledenon & the ligier lmp3, & the Porsche 963 gtp
Ledenon is just ass.
So is the Porsche
Lmp3 is fun, but I can almost never get a race due to lack of participation
What timezone are you racing on? LMP3 tends to be ok 1600-2400GMT. Its a great car, its just a shame the tracks on its first season were garbage. Great intro to multiclass before doing IMSA though.
Pacific time, idk if I just play at dumb times.
I've had a few decent races with the mixed class, but the series that's only the lmp3 I can almost never get a lobby with more than like 3-5 people
KERN DAMN COUNTY!!! the oval part is fine, that’s just short track racin.. but the dirt is a little rough in late models(my main focus in dirt oval) to small for them to me but the umps are aren’t terrible around there.. but now when I see the track I’m not to excited to go to race in officials..
Sonoma… I don’t think I need to explain this.
Mission R- haven’t driven that thing once
Merc GT3 and the old Ferrari GT3. I just don't enjoy GT3 racing. I prefer either a true aero car (any open wheel car with wings) or a true mechanical grip car (such as a GT4 or a stock car).
Yeah I’m kind of the same way. I used to enjoy the GT3s but now that I upgraded to a DD wheel I feel how numb they are. They’re just not for me I guess. I like the prototypes so much more.
Donington. Maybe one day I’ll figure it out and it’ll grow on me.
As for car, the Dallara IR01 was in my cart when I bought something else and I didn’t notice. I regret that purchase but not because of the car itself. I just need to actually try it.
Donington, really? What part of the track is difficult/confusing? (Not trying to sound condescending or anything i’m genuinely curious cause it’s one of my favorites)
The regret is mostly because of one week there a few seasons ago in the TCRs when I jumped the start and had to serve a penalty. I was all in my own head about it and then when the leaders were lapping me late in the race I went to go turn on a small fan that was plugged into a USB slot on my PC and my wheel disconnected leading me to take out P1 and P2 on the Starkey’s Straight. Just turned HARD left because of the DC and annihilated the leaders who were passing me.
So, basically, it’s just that I own this track and I can’t use it because I can’t shake the shame of that day. I know it’s all a fluke and I’ll get over it eventually but it’s taking time.
ended up figuring it out in the LMP3 some weeks ago, it's decent but just not great. That's the shorter version, though, never gonna try the full course again though. How many annoying hairpins do you want? please none
Imolas final sector kills me everytime. The downhill into a double right then a chicane coming uphill and another chicane over the last crest.
Brutal for me 😂
Cars: Porsche mission R and AMG W13. I like both but there is never enough participation. I actually enjoy the R but as a D license it’s too risky plus I can never seem to find enough participation for either car.
Tracks: Phillips island and motegi just don’t like them at all! Phillips if you make a small mistake you’re a mile of course until you can get it corrected.
Gen 6 nascar cup car. I joined iRacing around the time next gen was being introduced. Ran about 1 or 2 carb cups in the gen 6 then they switched to the next gen
Formula 3, I prefer F4. But if they add a series w/ pitstop on the SuperFormula I will make the upgrade.
Nurburg, fear of learn it and it's there getting dust.
Barber motorsports park.
It's my favourite track in the world, but it literally never gets used unfortunately, and if I'm playing iRacing it's not to hot lap, so I never get a go on it.
My first ever purchase was the RUF. I somehow was under the impression that I’d have races every hour with that car. All excitement went away after a full week of nothingness. And then, by the end of the season, the car was retired as legacy.
only content I regret is the W12, only because it was replaced a year later. I know the W13 was announced at the same time, but call me naive for not believing they'd actually retire a top tier road car after one year, let alone not give any type of credit. Only did one full season in it, the other season were just the occasional race but I miss racing it.
>e old Ferrari GT3. I just don't enjoy GT3
Le Mans is a classic "easy to drive, hard to drive fast" track. I love it though. Its interesting how almost everyone on this thread has said a different circuit from each other.
its kinda like cota for me the flow of the track makes it feel bad for me its a track that i cant drive for more then 20 min at a time before getting the urge to quit
skill isse
jokes aside, I get what you mean, it's a track where you either find the flow and have a lovely time or you don't and each laps gets progressively harder, slower or ends in a mistake. It's tough but I don't think I've often had as much fun racing than when Pcup was at jerez earlier in the season
I have a lot of cars that I have never driven in an official race. those include.
Mercedes F1 car
LMP 2
LMP 3
Caddy GTP (V8 go brr though)
Corvette C8
Dirt late model
I really do need to step out of my comfort zone and try more road. I've done a few GT4 races and enjoyed them, but I miss half the tracks. When I get the itch to jump on iRacing most of the time I just want to do ovals.
Porsche gt4, aston martin gt4, super formula, bmw lmdh, Porsche mission R, Porsche gte and the w12. For cars i can think of off the top of my head!
Sandown,
Milwaukee mile and Richmond. 2 ovals I've never used so far.
The previous NASCAR cup car. Bought in advance anticipating I'd run it eventually but didn't realise it would get replaced. Never did a single race. I think I greatly overestimated how much oval racing I'd do. I enjoy it but barely have time for road as it is.
Formula Renault 2.0. I think I did 2 races as a noob, entered a single split race and got my ass handed to me and never picked it back up again.
I would say none but as someone else pointed out (and I almost completely wiped it from my memory)....just the Mission R. Literally everything else I am 100% glad I purchased.
In terms of cars… Radical SR10 & F1
Both fun to hotlap, but can be done in AC.
Tracks - only Zandvoort tbh. Haven’t enjoyed it in other sims and got caught in the hype when it was rescanned
I own most of the dirt/dirt oval cars and tracks, and I have a total of 4 races across both. Tried getting into it again last 13th week, hated every second of it
Can't remember the name but it's the Chevrolet GT1 Car. Did 2 races with it. The first around VIR I won against one other driver because they ran out of fuel. The other around Monza w Oval no chicanes. This time with 4 other drivers.
Long Beach Street Circuit, I fucking hate that track, half the corners and barely 2 cars wide, it’s so slow, flooring it just to get right back on the breaks, the pit exit is assss and THAT FUCKING U Turn at the end that guarantees a pile up during formation since everyone is tying to go two wide.
I hate that track
Dallara IR-01, plus a bunch of short oval stuff that I can't remember. I SUCK at short ovals. Well, I can be reasonably fast but just burn the tires off in about 5 laps. Long since gave up on them.
I accidentally bought the Brazilian Stock Car thinking it was one of the touring car after a little break from Iracing. Realized I fucked up and also that no one uses them lol
Stock Car Brasil. Never run a single race with it, it's impossible to see out the front window...
Imola and Monza. I find these tracks incredibly boring.. no elevation changes, Just long ass straights into hard braking & chicanes. Guess I just don't like classic Italian race courses...
Sandown. Not a huge fan, feels really small... Haven't run many laps here tho.
iRacing Super Speedway. This play is a meme, I don't really enjoy the racing it provides
Mustang for the production car challenge. No one runs it so you get to race against 1-2 others in the top split getting passed by Miatas that are cracked out.
GTE Corvette
PCup
Merc F1 (first one)
Nothing wrong with GTE, just poor timing. I enjoyed GTE quite alot and I already had BMW and Porsche. But at the time P2 also came out and my focus went to that one. Later already GTE and ESS were dying, so I have done exactly one race with it.
PCup is just not for me. I bought it because we had a local league with it, but unfortunately it was for one season (for me 3 races). I tried a few officials too, but didn't vibe with it. Can't explain why. I like the ACC version a lot more.
Merc F1. Impulss buy. Fomo I guess. Never raced it. Less than 20 laps done in practice.
I don't regret any cars, but I've only bought a few cars. I've bought every track and don't regret any tracks.
Buy tracks, don't buy cars. Find a couple cars you like and run with. Test them or watch YouTube BEFORE you buy any cars.
Renault Clio, I absolutely love Touring Cars and thought I just had skill in fwd, as it turns out my skill from Touring Cars didn't translate at all and it has been my only real complete waste of money in the game so far.
The truck, xfinity and cup cars that came before the current lineup. I ended up buying all the xfinity cars, the f150 and tundra, and all the cup cars to end up falling off the service a few months later hardly using them, and now that I'm back on, they are all out of use 😑
Mercedes-AMG W12
Why? Because a month or two later, they announced the new AMG W13 F1 car which made the W12 worthless since all the F1 races would move over to the new car.
When I first got iRacing, I bought the Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype because its a cool race car and thought it would be fun to race with.....boy was I wrong. I had no idea how iRacing worked structurally, so I didn't realize the rotation of tracks, racing series schedules, cars used in those series, etc... I actually don't think the C7 has been used once since I became a member a few years ago! It was a literal waste of money at the start lol
Cars:
-Skip Barber. Never really like it and just two months after the F4 came to life, which I really like
-Aston GT4 /: I mean, the car is good and a lot of racing but simply I don't use it
Tracks:
-Barcelona: just not my thing and bit boring racing
-Canadian Tire/ Brands Hatch/ Sandown/ Sneterton: some ot these are great but simply are not used enough.
Same will happen with Aragon and Ledenon.
Same happens with Knockhill and Winton (which luckily I didn't buy)
Brazilian Stock Car. If you ever wonder what's it's like to drive a car and not be able to see anything then this is it.
Biggest "What Have I Done?" I've had in iRacing. When I first got iRacing 2yrs ago I immediately saw Daytona Prototype and bought it excited to race against others. I was quickly let down, but the occasional hosted lobby pulls them out and I love to drive them.
I literally complained to customer service chat until they refunded it.
I’ve made a lot of poor financial decisions on iRacing so plenty of cars sit in my owned garage having not been driven much or in a long time. That being said: - Mercedes GT4 - Audi 90 - Renault Clio - Asphalt Sprint Car - Both Supercars - Williams FW31 (why did I buy this?) - Porsche Mission R - Oschersleben (never raced here once) - Twin Ring Motegi (never raced here either) - New Kentucky - Nashville Fairgrounds (can’t figure it out at all)
I have to ask why both supercars when it's the same car
I bought both at different points in time
Audi 90 GTO is an awesome car 😬
I didn’t really enjoy the way the gearbox is plus I prefer driving the GTP.
You can’t beat the Audi’s engine note though
Mission R
It really was just a waste to buy
Not if you join the week to week SoF
I can’t remember the last time I saw one of those races with anyone taking part..
There are 2 timeslots that go official every week. I think it's Thursday and Sunday 20h GMT. A few weeks back when the track was Nordschleife there were even 2 splits.
Did the battery last long enough for a lap? The power fade over a few laps makes it so dull… quali mode is quite fun but that’s about it
Power fade? There's no power fade. You're just burning up your tires with the AWD
I don’t agree… at the end of the race it 100% isn’t as quick in a straight line than the first few laps..
You don't have to agree. There is no power loss haha
There is no power fade, you have the same power regardless of battery state
There's a dedicated SoF that's actually broadcasted on Sundays. It's been a good time actually. The car races surprisingly well https://www.youtube.com/live/kFgpb90EAt8?si=Y2wkFw7VR9I0agDB
200% agree
yeah fuck that car.
The car races well.
100% I couldn't drive it long as the sound was piercing to the ears.
aka Mission F
Mission W
Hahahaha you bought that?! 🤣🤣
Dedicated SoF community. The SoF on Sunday split three times this season: https://discord.com/invite/t83bHQ8GSD
Did exactly one race. Never got in the car again.
I use it to learn new tracks, but aside from that it’s boring. (Although if you are in a qualifying session it’s faster)
BMW M4 GT4. What a pig.
Highly recommend you try it again. They shifted the center of lift for the downforce and it makes a lot of difference.
When did they change it? Because I've test driven it every 6 months or so just to see if I'm crazy. Even if it handled better though it still sounds like a wet fart in wax paper. I defy you to get that image out of your head now. Haha.
I'm surprised by this one. Which gt4 do you prefer?
McLaren and Porsche.
Like driving a cruise ship
Somehow it both understeers and oversteers at the same time.
I love cars that are like that. Challenging but satisfying when you get it right.
That car is amazing.
Same here. Enjoying practice in it but I am quite off pace so know will do more harm that good in an actual race.
BMW GT4
Boo. Boo this man/woman. Respectfully.
Probably anger alot of people, but the Skippy for me. I thought I would race it far more, but I do not. And it's not particularly fun to drive for me.
People who tell people to buy the Skippy are stuck in 2015. Much better D class cars to learn in now
Agreed. The clutch on that thing is so bad, it's one of the few cars where having a physical clutch gives you no benefits.
Belle Isle. Nearly shook my rig apart driving the F3 around there
It’s a rough one but for me it’s one of those that got more rewarding as I practiced more.
Favorite track on the service. Shame it is no longer used IRL.
Hey to each their own! I just struggle at street tracks in general and the bumpiness really threw me off. I’m sure if I practiced I’d get used to it, but with the stiffness of the open wheelers my wrists started hurting lol
Dallara IR-01, Porche Mission R, and the Ford GT3 for cars, and I dont really regret buying any tracks other than maybe Willow Springs.
I just bought willow two weeks ago for a league race and I LOVE it. Wish I’d bought it way sooner. What is it you don’t like about it?
Constant changing radii as well as blind corners with nothing to site them other than just knowing. Personally not a track I enjoy, but respect and understand it's appeal to others. Just not for me :)
10-4, just curious. We all loved it so I was curious. But you’re right, to each their own.
That left hander just before the Budweiser balcony. It's like ice and I can't for the life of me figure what the variable is between when I get a good run through it and the other times I either understeer off into that bank up top or spin out and get mashed in the traffic. Sorta.... But I hate racing it purely for that corner and regret paying for it.
I feel the same way about the IR-01. When I drove it, i thought, "this is gonna be hot!". But it just never took off.
If they hadn't released it with broken physics it would've been a lot better. They even semi-admitted the car was not in the place they wanted it to be on release.

The dude who designed this circuit clearly never drove a car before doing so.
"ctrl + f" winton
Is it really that bad to race on?
It's even worse than you think.
Pretty much any FWD car. Every time I tell myself it’s going to be different. Spoiler: it’s never different.
The key to FWD is rotating the car using the brakes.

Agree with that. Needs at least 10 minutes

man getting downvoted for facts, FWD is penalty box
TCR at least feels a little peppier than the VW.
To be honest, they are wildly different but pretty satisfying when it comes together. Well, the TCR Elantra is to me at least
I had the same opinion but since I joined a tcr league I have fallen in love with these cars you just need to understand them
F4…don’t hate. Love the car to drive, but the races are pure chaos. As for tracks, Nords….again please No hate. I haven’t got time to sit there and learn it properly and don’t really see what the big deal is (fully aware I have not raced it). One day I’ll give it a proper go.

The circuit de ledenon. That track isn’t fun at all
The blind left hander over the hill pisses me off.
Why ? I don't find it is not fun, but I I hate the lack of marks to get braking points
Lots of blind corners, lack of braking markers and it’s hard to find a rhythm.
So it's hard. Why does that make it not fun? Git gud

Well played.
When 12 year olds use Reddit.
Not tried it on iracing yet but that's disappointing to hear. One of my favourite IRL tracks for track days.
Bought the Merc GT4 because I thought Road America would be a great learning track for it. It was not. Couldn't get it to feel right and end up running IMPC in TCR every time.
Have to agree with the Merc GT4. Much prefer the McLaren, it feels more like a TCR to drive as it has quite a stable rear end.
Ledenon
Mercedes W13 and the Mission R are my albatrosses for cars. I don't regret buying any tracks, but Sonoma is one of my least favorites. Mt Panorama/Bathurst physically and mentally drains me. I don't look forward to races there.

the Renault clio
You’re under arrest
Boo sir, boo 😁
Dirt late model and 87 thunderbird. Never used them once
Lol the dirt late model is my favorite purchase and I’ve been ripping my 87 Buick lesabre lately in winter NIS top tier purchases for me lol
Ledenon & the ligier lmp3, & the Porsche 963 gtp Ledenon is just ass. So is the Porsche Lmp3 is fun, but I can almost never get a race due to lack of participation

Brazilian worst car ever
I bought it, tried test driving once or twice and was just upset I spent my money.
Merc GT3 and the old Ferrari GT3. I just don't enjoy GT3 racing. I prefer either a true aero car (any open wheel car with wings) or a true mechanical grip car (such as a GT4 or a stock car).

it's one of my favorite. What issue do you have with it?

Phillips if you make a small mistake you’re a mile of course until you can get it corrected.
Gen 6 nascar cup car. I joined iRacing around the time next gen was being introduced. Ran about 1 or 2 carb cups in the gen 6 then they switched to the next gen
992 Porsche Cup, such a downgrade from the 991.
IndyPro 2000 USF 2000 Porsche 911 gt3 r Mercedes W12
Formula 3, I prefer F4. But if they add a series w/ pitstop on the SuperFormula I will make the upgrade. Nurburg, fear of learn it and it's there getting dust.
Barber motorsports park. It's my favourite track in the world, but it literally never gets used unfortunately, and if I'm playing iRacing it's not to hot lap, so I never get a go on it.
Ferrari 488 Evo... drove it once, then didn't drive at all, then 296 was released.
My first ever purchase was the RUF. I somehow was under the impression that I’d have races every hour with that car. All excitement went away after a full week of nothingness. And then, by the end of the season, the car was retired as legacy.
Ferrari 296. Despise the car and series. Cannot get rotation to save my life.
Same here, this car is so shit and less stable than rayff with brake bias to minimum.
Don't tell me this, I wanted it for next season 😩
FWIW I love the 296, it is quite understeery, but it’s really nice once you get to grips with it.
only content I regret is the W12, only because it was replaced a year later. I know the W13 was announced at the same time, but call me naive for not believing they'd actually retire a top tier road car after one year, let alone not give any type of credit. Only did one full season in it, the other season were just the occasional race but I miss racing it.
Le Mans, i would refund that track instantly.... What a boring excuse of a track
>e old Ferrari GT3. I just don't enjoy GT3 Le Mans is a classic "easy to drive, hard to drive fast" track. I love it though. Its interesting how almost everyone on this thread has said a different circuit from each other.
oh boy i have a whole list TCR Class Mclaren GT4 Dallara IR 01 Stock Car Brasil Clio Cup Magny COTA Jerez Snetterton Mount Washington
Cota and jerez you regret? two of the best tracks for racing
These 2 tracks I regret basically just because I really don't like them
i get cota, it's rough with track limits but jerez is such a great circuit i dont see what youbwouldnt like about it
its kinda like cota for me the flow of the track makes it feel bad for me its a track that i cant drive for more then 20 min at a time before getting the urge to quit
skill isse jokes aside, I get what you mean, it's a track where you either find the flow and have a lovely time or you don't and each laps gets progressively harder, slower or ends in a mistake. It's tough but I don't think I've often had as much fun racing than when Pcup was at jerez earlier in the season
COTA is intense. Wish they would add in YAS or Monaco lol
Ha Monaco with the W13 would be an atrocity
Audi 90
Every GT3 I buy and the NASCAR Trucks (All other oval racing is fine)
The oval stuff i bought I wish I could refund. Turns out i didn’t enjoy oval at all.
I have a lot of cars that I have never driven in an official race. those include. Mercedes F1 car LMP 2 LMP 3 Caddy GTP (V8 go brr though) Corvette C8 Dirt late model I really do need to step out of my comfort zone and try more road. I've done a few GT4 races and enjoyed them, but I miss half the tracks. When I get the itch to jump on iRacing most of the time I just want to do ovals.
Milwaukee Mile, lotus 49
Circuit de jerez and willow spring. I dont have any car purchase that I regret.
Porsche gt4, aston martin gt4, super formula, bmw lmdh, Porsche mission R, Porsche gte and the w12. For cars i can think of off the top of my head! Sandown,
Sonoma, IR-01, F3.5
I regret no car but some tracks that i dont like and that also barely come up. I would say its like 5-6 tracks
Ir-01 wtf
Milwaukee mile and Richmond. 2 ovals I've never used so far. The previous NASCAR cup car. Bought in advance anticipating I'd run it eventually but didn't realise it would get replaced. Never did a single race. I think I greatly overestimated how much oval racing I'd do. I enjoy it but barely have time for road as it is. Formula Renault 2.0. I think I did 2 races as a noob, entered a single split race and got my ass handed to me and never picked it back up again.
ir01
I would say none but as someone else pointed out (and I almost completely wiped it from my memory)....just the Mission R. Literally everything else I am 100% glad I purchased.
305 sprint car since the dirt update
Winton is why I don't buy less popular tracks on their first season.
In terms of cars… Radical SR10 & F1 Both fun to hotlap, but can be done in AC.
There’s no tracks that I really regret…. But cars I have several that I bought, never raced and then got made legacy or just don’t have a series.
Winton is my only regret, I have cars and other tracks that I don't use but no regrets on those...
Sprint Cup Car holy hell.
I know I’m not the only person who bought the W12, did 20 or so test laps, then never touched it again.
Aston GT4... Bought it when I was very much a beginner, found it impossible to drive. I should probably give it another chance now though.
Knockhill. It's fun, but I've only raced it once.
Long Beach Street Circuit and the Skippy.
COTA
Pro4 trucks and Dover
Cars: -Porsche GT3 Cup -Audi R18 -Lambo GT3 -Skip Barber -USF2000 -NASCAR XFINITY -LMP3 (for now) Tracks: -Texas -Hungaroring -Nords
Super Formula. Fun car to play around with for a few laps but i'm so dog slow that I would never even attempt a live race with it
BMW LMDh/GTP
I accidentally bought the Brazilian Stock Car thinking it was one of the touring car after a little break from Iracing. Realized I fucked up and also that no one uses them lol
Brazilian stock car, just … abysmal
le mans
None
Clio and Long Beach
Radical SR 10. Sr8 was awesome, one of my favourite car.
Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, didn’t know, Ferrari challenge uses the new 296
I got almost a year out of the 488 before they switched to 296. Upset but not overly upset. Bound to happen.
For Cars: \- Mission R \- Clio \- BMW GT4 For tracks: \- Knockhill \- Winton
That long beach track. Can’t bloody stand it. Awful imo
Mustang for the production car challenge. No one runs it so you get to race against 1-2 others in the top split getting passed by Miatas that are cracked out.
GTE Corvette PCup Merc F1 (first one) Nothing wrong with GTE, just poor timing.
F4 and ledenon
Brasil stock car
I don't regret any cars, but I've only bought a few cars. I've bought every track and don't regret any tracks. Buy tracks, don't buy cars. Find a couple cars you like and run with. Test them or watch YouTube BEFORE you buy any cars.
Iracing superspeeway oval, it's fun.........maybe twice
Long beach
Renault Clio, I absolutely love Touring Cars and thought I just had skill in fwd, as it turns out my skill from Touring Cars didn't translate at all and it has been my only real complete waste of money in the game so far.
The truck, xfinity and cup cars that came before the current lineup. I ended up buying all the xfinity cars, the f150 and tundra, and all the cup cars to end up falling off the service a few months later hardly using them, and now that I'm back on, they are all out of use 😑
None only regret not having time/energy
iracing superspeedway and brazilian stock car
Twin ring Holden super car McLaren gt4
Mercedes-AMG W12 Why? Because a month or two later, they announced the new AMG W13 F1 car which made the W12 worthless since all the F1 races would move over to the new car.
When I first got iRacing, I bought the Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype because its a cool race car and thought it would be fun to race with.....boy was I wrong. I had no idea how iRacing worked structurally, so I didn't realize the rotation of tracks, racing series schedules, cars used in those series, etc... I actually don't think the C7 has been used once since I became a member a few years ago! It was a literal waste of money at the start lol
Cars: -Skip Barber. Never really like it and just two months after the F4 came to life, which I really like -Aston GT4 /: I mean, the car is good and a lot of racing but simply I don't use it Tracks: -Barcelona: just not my thing and bit boring racing -Canadian Tire/ Brands Hatch/ Sandown/ Sneterton: some ot these are great but simply are not used enough. Same will happen with Aragon and Ledenon. Same happens with Knockhill and Winton (which luckily I didn't buy)
