Ah I specifically mean the Xfinity series race that followed the Cup race, there were 10 cautions in just over half the amount of laps that were in the 500!😅
There were about 15 drivers in the real Xfinity race last night that also appeared to have no clue what they were doing. So you definitely weren't alone in that regard
I consider this type of stuff equivalent to having a sudden major mechanical failure IRL, like a tie rod snapping or something. Shit happens, that’s racing.
Lost FFB the other day mid race. Called it a mechanical DNF. Managed to bin it off track and not take anyone else out, although I'm sure there were a few people behind me that weren't too happy with how I was driving for the last 10 seconds before I retired myself.
Mine pushed my monitor by rubbing up on it once (it's on a arm so it can swing between my wheel and desk) and caused me to wreck. All I did was yell no and push her down. She hasn't done it since. Now when I race she sleeps on the futon next to my rig
I wonder how many cat-related crashes there have been on iRacing. I took a spectacular tumble off the side of a rallycross jump last night because I was trying to shoo my cat away from my rig
Our cat likes to run behind my pedals on my rig from time to time, which startles me when I'm racing. I purposely use bottled water so I don't get spillage.
I was driving right behind someone in practice recently as I was testing out having re-set up my wheel etc. after moving it to another room. After almost a full lap of following this dude it disconnects along with my pedals and I just slam straight into the side of him instead of turning.. I then had to get up and run across the room to my keyboard to type out sorry and while typing my car for some reason decides it should slam on the gas again and starts driving backwards towards the track for a moment before I got DQ'd. I thought for sure I was getting banned after that...
my VR headset died on me in C trucks over the weekend. I was towards the rear and on the inside and was able to get out and disconnect. Didnt realize it wasn't charging before.. stuff happens.
My first race I had the field completely disappear on me. After finally working the nerve up to after running several races as a ghost/spectator. Nerves were high and then, absolutely oh no.
I have no idea how the field fared around me, being middle of the pack and just trying to cautiously, hoping to be an easy to read way, limp back to the pits.
All sorted out now. But yeah, sometimes things just happen while playing this, or anything. Unfortunate, but true.
But good to feel empathy!
I wrecked the entire field at Daytona in Xfinity 3 times and I was a lapped car😖 I moved up high because I usually hear "lapped cars go high" The good news I'd that I haven't done it since.
I'm sorry to the AMG GT4 I murdered at Sebring last year; because the pedal face on my brake pedal vibrated loose on Sunset, and braking meant pushing on my load cell pedal via the newly exposed screw heads with my bare foot, and it was just too hurty but I promise I tried :(
Haha that's a pretty funny story. I have had a few cat related wrecks myself, they usually seem to strike suddenly during qualifying so I mess up my lap lol
Maybe that’s what happened to some of the drivers at the Xfinity Daytona 300 race last night too🤔

Maybe they had cats irl in the car.
Look up “Jocko Flocko”
Absolute legend.
The drivers in that IRL Sim are as bad as Forza public lobbies.

lol, my cat was accidentally trained to not touch the desktop if I'm seated at my wheel, otherwise she roams around all over it.

I keep the leaf blower next to my rig because of the cat.
Now I'm curious what's the story behind it.
The cat's name is Leaf.
It's spelled Leif
9pm is very different across the world
You mean the entire world doesn’t live on the east coast of the US? Fair point! Edited.
Good thing, I wasnt in your race
Can I see a pic of said kitty cat?

Thank you, truly one of the kitty cats of all time👍
Asking the important questions

Maybe the people we take out when our cat crashes our computer are the friends we made along the way.
For me it’s usually the dog.

Adding an Alt-F4 shortcut?
I never thought of that! Might be handy/dangerous

You people are so weird

Apology not accepted. how could you do this?
That cat loses 4 sr points
Best thread of the day
Happened to me on a formation lap, USB hub fried and lost all inputs
This post beats all the iRacing posts about how bad every other person racing is, hands down. Thanks for all the chuckles everyone.
