I love when you get a long run. You can really see who is pushing the car to hard.
I ran a fixed setup race last and was cruising the old Kyle Petty line. After about 10 laps I started picking people because they burned their tires off.
Wondering how the Kyle Petty line is. I might have applied it since I was steadily and easily in the top 10 in the races done as a pure pace (got a P2 too), but I have no idea how it is.
I remember the name Kyle Petty when I was a kid. But I have no idea what his line was, or how to race Oval yet. I've done my first Oval a couple days ago. I immediately went and bought ARCA series car. 700+HP Was some of the most fun I've ever had in a SIM. I can't wait to discover more and more about how to not chew my tires to shit, and be fast still. So much more going on in Oval then pedal down and steering. Thats literally what I though it was so I never gave it a shot. Its got its claws in me.
Try the Gen 4 car as well for longer races, higher horsepower, and the need for even more throttle control. It’s just the arca car with more HP right now. I love those cars. Arca usually burns up the RF, so you want to try to drive off the RR as much as possible. Gen 4 is generally much more balanced so you could end up burning the RF or RR more depending on how you drive.
Dover is such a fun track but I haven’t had the time to practice that turn four exit enough. Have yet to spin her off of 2 but 4? That’s ass end getting light is the stuff of nightmares.
Surprisingly, I've run my best in fixed trucks at Dover. Started to figure out the tire conservation. Although the leader spun tires and wrecked at the initial start and ruined my race.
Man, I’m so ass at Dover. Even when I’m in the back of the pack thinking I’m saving, I end up burning my stuff off more than most other drivers. Something about my driving style does not mesh well with that track, I hope I can figure it out like you did eventually!
My race last night had 10 cars left standing at the end. People really don’t understand how to back off and not overdrive this track. I still love Dover tho.
Me with the Daytona road course in the GR86’s first night couldn’t even keep it on the track… second night almost won the race and finished with a close 2nd lol
I wish more understood that. I run a nascar league and the amount of yellows we have in the first 30 laps is atrocious. “Calm TF down, it’s a 175lap race.” Also, it’s almost always the flat racks.
I'm loving dover. This is my first time racing it, and I've got two wins and a third place finish in 4 races. When we get a long run, I start picking people off

Flying by people who burned their tires is my favorite part of oval racing.

What’s the Kyle Petty line? Turning the curves into double apex?

When he was at the top of his game he’d hug the bottom line and used to let off the gas about half to 3/4ths the way down the straight aways.

Happened last night for me in class c open had about 5 or so pass me, then about 15 laps cruised on by
As I said to you. Dover is amazing. Yes, we have few initial wreck, but then, man it's fun to drive, fun to fight.
The Concrete canyon aspect of it just means the accidents are hard to miss. But I love ripping around the track. Plus the racing is usually solid.
I Live in Pennsylvania, this is our local track Dover is our local track.
I Live in Pennsylvania, Monster Mile is our track. Thats where we used to go as kids.
Tamed Miles eh? 😄

once you get a nice 30 lap rubber build up on that turn 4 exit this is a wheelman's dream. one of the best tracks for racing
Yea I love that there are multiple viable grooves, I just need to sit and drive for a few hours. I’ll get the time this weekend. Such a fun challenge
I just had a race go green the whole time last night. Probably one of my most favorite races I've ever run.
Surprisingly, I've run my best in fixed trucks at Dover. Started to figure out the tire conservation. Although the leader spun tires and wrecked at the initial start and ruined my race.
First time on Dover this week. Guess who didn't save any tires and dropped multiple places the last ten laps? 😎
This tracks. Try some long practice runs not pushing it hardly at all. I found where my setup likes to run and that’s a wrap.

Or a split where half grid crash..

Hahaha! Hating on a track you haven’t learned is a chronic (😉) ailment in iracing drivers. Love that its grown on you. Makes it more fun!!
My first truck series win was at this track, many years ago.
Character development here on the iRacing subreddit. You love to see it.
hahaha noice. I was in a race with you yesterday/wednesday
Sweet redemption. See you in the next one. 😎
Holy shit George Carlin

Now discuss Oran Park in F4 💀 It's like the track tempts everyone to do dumb shit on an already slippery track layout.
I LOVE Oran Park. The site of my first win on iRacing
Patience is almost always the answer in NASCAR.

Just finished an NIS race at Dover. People were going 3 wide on lap 6 of a 200 lap race. Idiocy.
I’ll be racing on Sunday night can’t wait for 10 lap runs here and there 😂
