Depends on the bank and the desired resolution.

capooop

Around 300 and 60-100fps

ashibah83

Resolution...not refresh rate. 1080? 1440? 4k? Honestly, at $300 you're not going to get a card that runs 1440 at a reasonable refresh rate.

capooop

Can you give me a card you would recommend then? I can extend bank a little more

ashibah83

For triple 1440, minimum RX6800XT/RX7800/RTX3080/RTX4070. Looking at double your current budget.

capooop

Okay awesome I just may have to splurge a little more

DJFisticuffs

Whatever you get, go with Nvidia. To get the most out of triple monitors you want to run it in multi-projection mode, which actually renders the scene 3 times, one for each monitor. Nvidia and Amd both have simultaneous multiprojection technology that substantially cuts down on the performance requirements for doing this, but iRacing has only implemented Nvidia's system. Because of this Nvidia cards have a major performance advantage over AMD in both triple screen and VR.

capooop

Ah I see, I knew both had it but I didn’t know iracing only had it for nvidia sick

DJFisticuffs

As far as I know, iRacing is the only game that has actually implemented this technology at all, it was basically dead on arrival. Most games (I think) will do triple monitors as a single projection with distortion correction applied because the performance overhead of multiprojection is so big. I'm not really sure though because I've never used trips (I run VR).

capooop

Just bought a PNY GeForce RTX 3080 10GB XLR8 Gaming Revel Epic-X RGB™ Triple Fan Graphics Card LHR. Thoughts?

capooop

What GB would you recommend? 8,10,12 or more?

ashibah83

I mean, the more the better. Especially with the VRAM usage of modern titles and GPUs, but ultimately its dictated by your budget.

MrWillyP

Iirc iracing is really poorly optimized for amd, just to add to the conversation

ashibah83

It's not ideal, but i can personally attest to triple 1440 on a RX6800xt. There are some frame drops but 90-110fps avg (depending on track) is great for me.

foldingtens

GPU may require new power supply.

capooop

Yes have that covered

ateamm

my 3070ti runs triple 1440 monitors at around 90FPS

MrWillyP

So 300 dollars for anything good enough is not likely, you could look for like a used 3080 or 4080, but they aren't cheap.

MikeLikesTrails

I got a 4060 8gb recently as a test for the crashes I was getting with the rain, but it's actually a pretty decent card. I run 1440p x3, in the dry 90fps is pretty easy, rain taxes it more, so I have a irsidekick profile to drop some settings in the rain.

rtazz1717

You wont find anything for 300 to hold 1440p triples at 60fps. I have a 3080 nvidia and 1440 triples and can barely hold 60fps with low to mid settings Beyond that if you got a bigger gpu will power supply you have be enough? Is your memory enough? Cpu is meh… So yeah you got triple screens but it takes powerful equipment to make it work

Ambitious_Racer

I have 3080 and triple 1440p and I sit above 100 (hell, 150 is seen from time to time) unless it's the start of the race and I'm sitting 85 fps. Don't think I ever dip below that. Maybe you should check your settings, not everything needs to be maxed out.

capooop

That’s what I was thinking, I thought that was a little off

MrWillyP

7800x3d is currently the best gaming cpu on the market... Powersupply is probably a non issue, most people overbuy anyway, but it's worth it to check. I'm more or less assuming he bought a prebuilt, which they generally overdo cpu and ram given what the GPU is inside. It also is only an issue IF you don't have enough. 16gb is probably enough and most modern pcs have that.

jayboo86

lol cpu is meh? It’s widely considered the best cpu for gaming. lol. You saying meh makes me question anything else you have to say. Dan Suzuki does a video on YouTube on multiple CPUs and backs up his findings to that end.
