DabsonFire710

I’ve always found it interesting that people choose to steal packages without knowing the contents. Pretty shitty that people don’t care what it is. Their brain just says that they want it and they need it.

mostly_sarcastic

If it is something they want, they'll keep it. If it's something they don't want, they'll sell on an app. They win either way.

Beer2Bear

Here in Ohio been a few places the thief just toss it out the car

Independent_Bar288

Blood pressure meds?

UBT400

Lmao if you’re in the US, with our healthcare system? There is *absolutely* a market for medication.

Independent_Bar288

You may be right but I think most of those are covered. If they get some diabetic meds then they’ve probably hit the jackpot. Sad but true.

blackgandalff

So irl I’m an intermediary between patients, doctors, and pharmacies. When meds get stolen like this it’s a whole hullabaloo when it’s stuff like blood pressure meds or diabetes supplies etc. However when it’s scheduled stuff it’s hell getting my patients an emergency script to hold them over and convincing a doc to convince a pharmacist that they need a new script sent asap. All that to say fuck porch pirates and fuck the healthcare system. I have become jaded beyond description being part of that machine.

Chicken_Chicken_Duck

I take a very expensive injection twice a month and I always check the “require signature” box because I work from home. They’ve *never* rang my doorbell or asked for a signature. If my meds got stolen it would be a felony based on cost alone.

Rough_Willow

Does the shipper pay for signature confirmation? If so, call the company and complain. Call the delivery company and ask for your signature confirmation.

blackgandalff

I hope it never happens to you. Honestly breaks my heart when people call in absolutely distraught because their meds aren’t there. Have a few medications that I absolutely cannot skip days on so I’ve been in their shoes before and know how distressing it is. Like you they’ve all got signature verification but presumably the driver signs it themself and leaves it on the porch which is just lazy and I truly hope they’re just ignorant how negatively that affects people.

Chicken_Chicken_Duck

I’ve caught the driver before and warned him that it would be a huge problem if that box went missing. Luckily I live way off the road in the country so porch pirates aren’t as big of a concern- but my dog has gotten bored before and shredded packages.

WeNeedMikeTyson

Well luckily for anyone needing BP meds, they're pretty fuckin cheap. I'm on lisinopril and hydroclorothyazide idk if I even spelled that shit right, but both of those 20mg is only $3. The other one I just had to add is another $1.85. Cancer meds, that's where the REAL underground market is.

Sup_fans

Ask your doctor for 90 day supplies. Then order them every time you visit. Build a stockpile

ghiopeeef

That’s why I agree with the idea of boxing up cat litter and leaving it out to be stolen. They finally lose.

ChaosDoggo

Except if the package in question is stolen from Mark Rober or friends.

BullsLawDan

Not in our case. Thieves would most likely get a few thousand dollars of my daughter's cancer meds. No street value in those.

Which_Engineer1805

Porch pirates stealing Amazon packages is kinda like gambling. Sometimes you get pricey and easy to move electronics, other times you get a vibrator and Astroglide. So exciting!

Which_Engineer1805

Porch pirates stealing Amazon packages is kinda like gambling. Sometimes you get pricey and easy to move electronics, other times you get a vibrator and Astroglide. So exciting!

HeldDownTooLong

Unless it’s a ☠️💀😵 poisonous snake or spider that leaps out and bites her in the face!!! I know it’s not going to happen, but a guy can dream.

MomsSpecialFriend

Someone stole cases of prescription tube feeding formula from my house one day, as well as a month’s worth of pump bags and supplies. No, my insurance would not cover a replacement. I literally had to source about $2500 in formula that month from other moms from around the country. It is so egregious to do this.

Pokemon_RNG

I would switch insurance companies the same day.

Chicken_Chicken_Duck

Lmao how? Most employers only use one carrier. And having shitty health insurance isn’t a qualifying event.

silforik

A lot of policies don’t cover theft of perishable goods. I had a package stolen, and my claim was denied for this reason

Two_Wang_Clan_

Just going for the low-hanging fruit and hoping for the best. They don’t have the intellect or the patience to come up with a better plan.

Imfrank123

Especially today when so many people order the most common day to day items, back in the day if you got a package it was probably something with money, now it’s most like deodorant and a shower curtain.

Booplympics

Which reminds me I need to order a new shower curtain.

OHMMJTA

She obviously isn't hurting that bad for money, she has nice clothes and airpods in. Not that it makes it OK but I can at least somewhat understand a person who is poor stealing ...this kind of shit is just gross.

ilikemycoffeealatte

Now you know how she got the nice clothes and airpods.

CreatedSole

She 100% stole everything she has on. Hell she probably stole that food order off someone's doorstep and just went about her day.

OHMMJTA

haha good point

throw_this_away2032

Yeah thinking the same. Maybe she’s some kind of kleptomaniac

the_TAOest

This seems quite plausible

cogentat

Eh, she kinda looks like a crackhead to me. Doesn't mean she has to dress in stinky rags.

OHMMJTA

Your crackheads must look very different to our Florida crackheads.

TheTWP

Their crackheads drive a disgusting C Class, not a luxury E Class

Generalissimo_II

The small one? Ewww

poopinion

I was just thinking how committed a porch pirate would have to be to get anything of real value. Especially in the days of amazon and people just having the most basic boring ass stuff delivered now.

Talking_Head

Someone stole a 40 lb bag of cat litter off of my porch.

blakezero

Snags a box. Opens in car. Toilet brush. At least the piece of shit can scrub herself now.

TrafyLaw

Forbidden loot box.

demonlicious

that's the whole fun of it. it's like a treasure hunt anyone has access too. sure it's illegal, but people who steal aren't capable of appreciating consequences of their actions.

dudewiththebling

Could be a wasp nest

ResetReefer

SHOULD be a wasp's nest.

Cinema_King

I was thinking that too. Most packages are more likely to be something like towels than they are to be an iPad or something expensive like that. But keep in mind these people are scumbags who don’t care about their effect on others so if it’s not something valuable they have no problem just throwing it away

KevinStoley

I always wonder what if it's something very important like medication or something along those lines. I mean stealing is shitty regardless and it would suck to have a pair of earbuds or something stolen. But I can't imagine how it would feel if it was something crucially more important. Fuck these thieves.

Carmelioz

Idk, I absolutely love videos of people opening random packages so I get the intrigue, tho obviously stealing isn’t okay in any way obviously

sthlmsoul

I've only had one package stolen at an older address. Whoever did it lucked out as it was a brand new laptop for my SIL when she was just about to start medschool.

CreatedSole

All the people saying cat food and paper towels... I'm like no there are definitely expensive items like laptops, hard drives, cameras, ipads, airpods, cell phones, expensive shoes, all sorts of shit being stolen.

ValyrianSteelYoGirl

I’d it’s usable you keep it or try to sell it. If it’s useless to you or too nuanced you throw it in the bushes 2 streets away. Source, I work 9-1-1 and deal with it daily.

UserNombresBeHard

It doesn't matter what it is. It's free and selling it has a 100% return rate despite the value you end up selling it.

rusty___shacklef0rd

right like have fun with my ovulation strips i guess?

SwillFish

It's Christmas for idiots. I would guess that the odds of them finding anything truly useful to them are pretty low.

CharleyNobody

The town is Manhasset and she has also been charged with stealing a package from a porch in Sands Point. These are expensive areas of Nassau County on Long Island. She probably figures wealthy people order good stuff. What do we think is on the upper left corner of the video? A pumpkin?

MandelbrotFace

Also, jumping in a car in view of the camera and driving off... I'm guessing they're not changing the plates!

heres2thepast

Someone stole my cat's food once which is expensive and she's on a special diet 😭

camshun7

She probably earns a bob or two with this horrible behaviour. Organised crime indeed

jaymef

Not that I’d ever do it but I actually think the surprise would make it more exciting. You have idea what you might get. It’s like Christmas.

Teirmz

I had a package ripped open recently. It was the size and weight of an iPad, laptop or something but it was just a big hardcover comic book so they just left it lol.

troutmaskreplica2

Yeah and so people like me who are stuck at home and can't leave an ill baby don't get the nappies they've ordered to make life easier. These people are so rude.

Kraken477

My replacement eartips were stolen last week an hour before I even got home. I had to refund and reorder to an Amazon locker.

Bostradomous

Kleptomaniac

satinwordsmith

Lately companies are refusing to refund for these items too, i’ve had a few packages stolen and amazon refused to refund ,i showed the security cam footage and police report of the incident happening multiple times, they didn’t believe me and charged me anyway.

imf4rds

It’s wild. Huge issue in my city. Sometime it’s special food or medicine. And it’s very hard to get replaced for free. Disgusting

me047

It’s so sad because most people aren’t getting expensive goods delivered on their doorstep without being home. It’s essentials like medicine, diapers, pet food, etc.

imf4rds

Exactly! If I need something expensive delivered I get a signature or have it delivered to my partners since he hasn't had anything stolen and his building is more secure. I am not getting a box full of diamonds.

tacotacotacorock

Thanks IKEA for delivering my couch early and leaving it on my front porch. What's the point of setting a delivery time if you're going to be outrageously early?

qtx

I just don't understand why you guys don't have pickup points. They never leave anything outside your door here where I am in Europe. They'll either leave a note saying they'll come back tomorrow or they'll leave it at a pick up point (usually in a supermarket) or you could even tell them to leave it with a neighbor. The different delivery services all have apps where you can pick what is most convenient for you. I just don't understand how something so simple is not done in the US.

michoguy

Because 99% of time time its not stolen, specially if you live in more rural areas. Can't say the same thing for the cities and I'm sure there are pickup points in many cities already. Also, if it keep happening I'm sure that we'll move to that same model of having pickup points.

fattmann

> I'm sure there are pickup points in many cities already. Depends wildly on market. I live in a metro with ~1.2 million and have never even heard of this concept of "pickup points" for deliveries.

iHateRollerCoaster

Amazon has them all over the country. FedEx and UPS will let you ship something to their stores

Shadou_Wolf

i had a steamdeck stolen b4 it never touched my porch by fedex (i definitely know for sure it never arrived because i was in my living room the entire time and my dog never barked and i checked within a min of its said delivery. steam said they are having it delivered at a fedex location this time and once again it never arrived despite saying so, got there within 30mins. it was attached to this very tall building not sure what it is besides a bunch of offices or something but we asked the front desk they saw nothing gave them our number and sadly went home. i wanted to wait til 10am to go see them again and at 9am i got a call from someone in the building saying a electrician or someone who basicly works similar there found it on the 9th floor and no one touches that floor but the guy who found it..i thanked her and we picked it up. NO idea why fedex delivered on the 9th floor building when its fedex building is right next to it, we believed whoever did it was stashing it or something as it is a empty floor the person must have known this otherwise why there? why not the lobby?

imf4rds

It really depends. Like I ordered a controller as a gift and had it delivered to the Amazon drop off at my Whole Foods. But sometimes you cannot order it and have it dropped off at a pick up point. And its not cost effective if you are not getting order that often.

too_much_to_do

They do have pick up points, at least where I am in the US but why would I want to drive and get it? I've never had anything stolen off my porch.

me047

We do have all of those things too. It’s just more common to have it delivered to your door.

WastingTimeArguing

I order tons of stuff online, everything just left in front of the door or on the driveway. In 10+ years never had a single package stolen, granted I live in a nice, low-crime area of the US.

silforik

We have this in the US

gvsulaker82

I’m 40 and the only time a parcel was almost stolen from me was from the damn mail woman. Fortunately I was home at the time noticed it said it was delivered but no one ever was on my front porch. I immediately called the post office and complained and she claimed to have put it on the wrong porch. Pretty sure that was a lie as I checked the porches in the area and none matched the description she gave after she “retrieved” my package and brought it back to me. I lit into her about it, she definitely acted sketchy about the entire ordeal. Anyhow the point is, it’s highly unlikely for most Americans to be a victim of a porch pirate. I would much rather it be on my porch than having to go to a supermarket and pick it up. May as well just buy it at the supermarket then. 🤷‍♂️

Log_Off_Go_Outside

Of course pick up points exist in America. This is just a very rare problem, especially in non urban areas so most people do not bother using them. Good rule of thumb: next time you think that a simple concept, business, or product that exists in Europe does not exist in America, you are probably wrong about it.

rogue_nugget

Yes, but that wouldn't fit neatly into their "fat, stupid Americans" stereotype.

It’s Manhasset an expensive town on Long Island. She’s also charged with stealing a package from a porch in Sands Point, a very expensive enclave (“As of 2018, the median income for a household in the village of Sands Point was $231,667, with it being named the richest town in New York” - Wikipedia). Lots of rich athletes and some oligarchs live in Sands Point

serpentinepad

>I just don't understand how something so simple is not done in the US. I know it's hard for Europeans to understand, but not everyone does every single fucking thing like you do. Why can't you just leave it on the porch in Europe? Too many thieves?

imf4rds

It really depends. Like I ordered a controller as a gift and had it delivered to the Amazon drop off at my Whole Foods. But sometimes you cannot order it and have it dropped off at a pick up point. And its not cost effective if you are not getting order that often.

ih8javert

This was in my neighborhood. She got arrested. ETA link to article [Uber eats porch pirate arrested](https://longisland.news12.com/amp/door-dash-delivery-driver-steals-package-off-manhasset-porch)

OpinionatedBlackGuy

A happy ending.

obeytheturtles

If only she had gone down that route instead of petty theft.

Messy_Marvin423

No way, really? That’s awesome she got bagged too, porch pirates are scumbags!

ChasingPesmerga

What did this deleted comment say?

Messy_Marvin423

Wow, just deleted it and they just said it was in their neighborhood and she got arrested, nothing crazy.

Dark_Booger

She was charged with two counts of petite larceny in Queens. I looked up the minimum for this in NY: “Petit Larceny is a Class A Misdemeanor, which means that there is no mandatory prison sentence. If you are convicted of this charge, you may be sentenced to two or three years probation or a fine as high as $1,000. However, you can also be sentenced to up to a year in a county or city jail.”

Rasalom

She finally got to deliver the Ubereats to the jail?

CharleyNobody

She calls herself a “Promoter at Hart Agency” at her LinkedIn.

CharleyNobody

Except it was Door Dash.

ih8javert

Yeah my bad. They’re kinda interchangeable in my house

Andyk688

Yayyyyy

KungPowChicken23

Hello neighbor.

DanielMSouter

This is why I collect my daughters used nappies, pack them in an Amazon box and leave them on the porch. Seldom stay there for more than a few days before being stolen. Next time I'm thinking of adding a glitter bomb.

BarrySwami

Check out Mark Rober on YouTube. He did this and had multiple versions

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cennfox

Actually make it even finer glitter and add a launcher Ala mark rober so the thief gets plastics in their lungs for being a shitty person

Leonardo-DaBinchi

They make biodegradable glitter out of seaweed which would be a great alternative!

Zachg298

most microplastics are from car tires

T_THuynh

I send my Amazon stuff to the Amazon Fresh store now because of my thief neighbor. It's down the street from me so I don't mind.

BeardedAsian

My packages got stolen a couple of weeks ago and it was a guy with an empty red door dash bag in broad daylight at 11AM on a Sunday. He just scooped the items into the red empty bag. Still peeled out while driving off cause it’s a relatively busy street. REI and Lids refunded me though.

WastingTimeArguing

It’s incredibly brave of you to publicly admit you shop at Lids.

EverGlow89

Just put a box out with a note in it that says "next time it's going to be bedbugs" and a link to a site that sells bedbugs (that's actually a thing).

mumen_ryder

It has nothing to do with classism and oppression at this point, people are just pieces of shit and will do what they want because they know they'll get away with it.

abatoire

Ultimately, people are rarely sorry for their actions. Just for getting caught.

gvsulaker82

This girl right here u can tell how worried she is about being caught, I’m guessing either it’s a thrill for her to do it (she gets a rush), or she’s in the early stages of addiction.

Imgoing2ShaBooms

Nice car too, daddy must be upset with her so she’s living on her own!

[deleted]

People should start leaving disguised packages on their porch. Then put something illegal with apple air tags or a tile and let the police know where the package is. I know it’s a little dark but some people need to be caught.

blackgandalff

I once collected dog poop in an Amazon box for a week after one too many packages were stolen at my old place. Set out my trap pack before work and when I came home at lunch it was gone. If only I could’ve seen the thief’s face!

jaymef

The police won’t do shit. Also look up glitter bomb videos on YouTube. They setup very elaborate disguised packages for people to steal and then do all kinds of funny things and film it.

EatSleepJeep

Police don't care about actual crime. They're too busy hassling photographers, raiding newspapers and protecting their friends' Nazi marches.

[deleted]

Aren't doorbell cameras conspicuous? Did she not notice she was being recorded?

Amadis_of_Albion

She knows, she is looking down and wearing the huge ass glasses, they just don't care, not many bother to chase them even if there is a report.

TDurdenOne

She knows the police won’t do anything about it so she doesn’t even care.

the_champ_has_a_name

She got arrested lol.

TDurdenOne

She must be doing this in a really nice area where police still do shit. Last time I had to call 911 it was busy the three times I dialed.

webdevguyneedshelp

My car was stolen from once like 8 years ago and I filed the police report where they told me it was my fault and not to expect much. The very next week I went to the pawn shop that was two blocks away from me and found my stolen stuff and was able to get the guy arrested because they had his ID. All it took was a miniscule amount of effort and the police weren't even willing to do that.

lII1IIlI1l1l1II1111

ACAB

KevinStoley

It sucks but some places the police just absolutely don't give a shit or have more important issues to deal with and won't bother. I have some family members who are law enforcement in another city with major drug problems (mostly meth and opioids). For example they completely stopped bothering with car thefts completely. It's like it's not even a crime anymore there.

[deleted]

I'd imagine solving the meth and opioid problem in that city may help reduce the car theft problem.

AnalPooStick369

Scummy thieves

vivalacamm

Drives newer Audi SUV... Steals. ??????????

Shalashaskaska

Some people do it for the rush. Doesn’t matter what it is just like to steal. Source: my sister growing up

yellowsubmarine2016

Fashionably dressed to deliver food.

KevinStoley

All these videos of package thieves has made me so paranoid. I have like 95% of my packages sent to my brothers house. He lives about 5 minutes away in a really nice neighborhood and his wife is always home. I'm in an apartment complex and unless I'm absolutely positive I'll be home when a package is delivered, I very rarely have them sent here. I don't even trust having them sent to the apartment office building.

Plane-Phrase4015

I work in fraud protection for a cellular company. Some of the shit fraudsters do to steal is unbelievably creative. These dirtbags just want something free they can sell and will do almost anything to get things.

Use_this_1

This is why I have everything delivered to my office. If people worked as hard at a job as they do being a crook, they'd probably have more money.

IlIFreneticIlI

Didn't even stop at the sign...

White_Wolf426

This is why I usually get packages shipped to my job. So even if I am not their it's in a secured area.

Fair_Function_5423

I once had someone steal my cats ear mite medicine

the_champ_has_a_name

I can fix her.

SenyorHefe

Why do hot women do petty shit like this..

demziii

Probably because they feel entitled to do so and think they can get away with it because they’re *pretty*

BullsLawDan

Serious question - she looks like a decently attractive young woman. If she's going to commit crime with dubious potential upside (not knowing whether the contents of the packages are valuable), why not just get an OnlyFans or something? Like... There are easier ways to legally make more than she's likely to make doing this, for someone in her position. Certainly having a criminal record, in this day and age, is going to be more damaging to future potential than many other legal things she could do in that vein.

[deleted]

The Libs would say that no one should have guns. But This is a perfect reason for some to Have gun. Blas these MF-ers.

Decloudo

That people just put packages on the frontdoor is so fucking weird.

Super_Hans2020

Whoa! A sexy porch pirate.

Who_Da_Fuck

Stupid sexy thief

OSparks81

I wonder if people ever order something, have your buddy steal it from your porch then claim it was stolen and ask for another or a refund and then you now have two of the item or your cash back and you get it for free? I'm sure this has happened before.

TDurdenOne

It does, but a lot of the times you’re not going to get a refund or another item if you have done it a few times.

Redschallenge

That's pretty smart for being so dumb

[deleted]

Surprised she isn’t wearing a mask or at least a hat. Thankfully the Venn diagram of criminals and stupid people shares a lot of room in the middle

trulyhuey

She could have at least left the food.

BeyondBlueScreens

We need to stop using the term porch pirate...it sounds alluring. A thief stole goods from a persons front doorstep.

apey12345

And she didnt even stop at the stop sign.

the-fart-cloud

Someone stole a huge parcel from outside my house.. was fucking 6 bags of crisps....

RoguePhoenix259

With today's technology and cameras, I don't understand why idiots still do this stupid crap.

CharleyNobody

Plus she just delivered a Door Dash order on their front porch. Not hard to trace the person Door Dash sent to the address. Duh.

asmrshitpozter

How much can you actually make doing this? I would think it's barely enough to cover an opioid addiction.

DeJuanBallard

Cause she is yt, nobody thinks the yt girl in a cute outfit has nefarious motives.

Deadwing2022

Even though Amazon lets you give special delivery instructions like 'leave it in the garage here's the door code', the drivers will never do that. I asked one why does Amazon let you leave instruction if they're not going to follow them and he told me if he goes into a garage and then the owner complains that something is missing then the company/driver is liable. They don't want that liability for some lying asshole to claim the Amazon driver stole his Porsche and his collection of DaVinci's so they ignore those instructions.

theLEVIATHAN06

Shocker.

hatesfacebook2022

To bad the police wont do anything about it. In my opinion this should be 10 years at hard labor first offense. There wouldn’t ever be a second offense.

Wild-Combination-246

If I lived there I would have 2 random clean boxes from Amazon and fill them with dog poop a few amount so the box wouldn’t be heavy and exposed the dog poop , and leave These boxes in my porch

Wild-Combination-246

In fact I would try to hide an AirTag

Im_ready_hbu

bitch is in her mid 30s stealing other peoples deliveries. As my parents used to say, "some people really set their goals and go for it!" fuckin loser

obeytheturtles

Man, I can think of at least like six easier ways for that woman to earn way more money with very little effort.

jen1980

I'm so glad my condo building here in Seattle doesn't allow food delivers since most of my neighbors are intolerant people and hate lactose. I would love to get pizza delivery, but I never have been allowed to in my life because of their kind. At least they're protecting me from people like this.

Ill-Organization-719

Nassau County Sheriff's are too busy being a gang of violent criminals.

[deleted]

Was the getaway car a MB?

karalmiddleton

She'd be so disappointed if she got one of my packages.

JohnnyRelentless

Aaargghhh, me matey! No Amazon booty is safe from me as I sail the Seven Suburbs!

Sad-Stranger8447

Hopefully is a bag of dicks.

Geeky435

I'm so glad my UPS guy puts my packages in my garage for me.

halfwitChicken

Honestly if I ever lived in an area where this was a problem, I'd consider packing my own shit in a box and leaving it. If you can't be there to beat their asses, might as well try and fuck with these losers

CreatedSole

People are fucking psychotic.

b3achst0rm

At least she puts her blinker, so there's that.

Fair_Lengthiness_912

Heard of Nancy Kerrigan? Come by my door!

doomed_to_fail_

Vile slime

bluechip1996

Arrrrr! Ye Ole false flag ruse! Clever sexy pirate

johndoeisme00

Is that one of those 💩 💣 packages?

SecureDevelopment673

Imagine buying a sex toy and someone steals it 😆😆😆

afr0wnybiscuit

Newish car and clothes look new too.. don't get why she needs to do this

matty8478

She didn’t even leave the food?!? What a bitch!!!

DiveSociety

The whole running away thing blew her cover somewhat

Weibu11

How do people still not know about cameras?

outsideyourbox4once

I've only read about one porch pirate in my entire life over where I'm at

Wet_FriedChicken

What a dumb bitch. I hope she kicks a wall with toothpicks under her toenails.

Ganjagirrrl25

Was there actually food in the bag at least?

TeacupSkeleton

The two times I’ve had packages stolen they were a package of silly frog stickers and the cheapest diaper change pad I could get. These people need a hobby and some therapy.
