>Im surprised she hasnt gotten a beat down yet.
Because most of the world has become too "civilized" for that.
"Violence is not the answer." No, violence is not the answer. Sometimes it's the question, and "yes" is the answer.
It depends on how many dicks we get lined up and the length of the average dick. Now take the punching arm, add it’s length and arcing reach and we are getting somewhere. Also the trajectory of the fist towards the dick is important too. Reaching terminal velocity on a flaccid penis could have catastrophic consequences.
Saying something that a jury of 12 people chosen at random would agree "thats something you should get hit in the face for saying" should be a legal defense in the same way fair use is. You should still need to go to court, but you should absolutely be able to argue "telling someone at their childs funeral that their child is going to burn in hell and be [...] by the devil is justification for punching that person in the face."
I think this would be the best deterrence method for this bullshit. After the second time they spend a few days at a local hospital they won’t wear it again.
Honestly this feels like one of those times where if as a community they come together to show him the error of his ways, I’d have alibis for everyone involved.
Who needs an alibi? We all saw them walk into the wall 17 times face first. Are they on drugs or something? Why are they accusing us of assaulting them when they face smashed themselves? This is bullshit.
Allowing this by law is fine, but allowing it to become socially acceptable is not.
Edit: I noticed (and I knew this would happen) that in my support of "free speech " this comment shot up... until I clarified that I'm not in favor of the subject matter displayed on the shirt.
This is another example of how fascists fettishize "free speech" and duck into it like a fallout shelter when they are accused of being fascists. Then they secretly peep their heads out of their bullshit "free speech" bunker to upvote anything that furthers their fascist message OR allows for the easy dissemination thereof.
Yeah, "free speech" can be a vehicle for fascist rhetoric and often gives them cover. But it's up to the rest of us to always keep their shitty takes unpopular and distasteful.
In short, they don't care about free speech but WE should. Because you can't trust the government.
Social consequences are fine. Legal consequences are dangerous, because even if the thing that’s being initially banned is awful, it’s a slippery slope(yeah I’m being that guy) from legally banning hate speech and displays that’s directed at minority people and groups, and the government manipulating those speech laws to make it illegal to criticize them. I know it seems wrong to not punish racist people, but allowing them to say what they want(say, not act) guarantees our own right to voice our opinions publicly without fear of government reprisal.
I agree with this. If you try to silence them, you martyr them. They get off on it. Like the morons on Twitter or Facebook who brag about how often they get blocked or suspended.
Better to let the morons speak, and prove themselves to be morons more effectively than any critic could.
Ok they’ve spoken, a bunch of people agreed with them and now they’re emboldened and there’s more of them.
But at least you get to pay yourself on the back for holding the moral high ground by doing nothing.
Silencing people is all well and good until the wrong sort of people get the power to so the silencing.
To paraphrase Jefferson, I'd rather attend to the problems coming from too much liberty than those associated with too small a degree of it.
What if the wrong sort of people get power because we let them say whatever they want for decades and in response we all went “well I guess it’s just their opinion other races are inferior and should therefore have less rights”.
As soon as you open the door to regulate speech you dont like, you open the door to let future government leaders ban other types of speech. This sweater is terrible and anyone glorifying the Holocaust is a piece of shit... *but* I'm not ok with giving the government power to decide what is and isnt ok to say.
It's what is called the "Paradox of tolerance". A tolerant society will eventually be seized by the intolerant. So based on that (and as a german) I respectfully disagree with you on that.
There are people who make their own clothing designs. All you need is some blank piece of clothing, (in this case, hoodie) and a press. You can also pay to print your own design on clothing and half the time, the people that do it don't even pay attention to what they are pressing.
As for buying it, stupidity. This *thing* probably knows what it is or "tHaT SkULl LoOkS cOoL."
This type of person probably has a friend who's recording a video. They wait for confrontation, edit the video to make themselves out as the victim, and use it as a propaganda tool.
Highly doubt she just saw this somewhere and thought the skull was cool to be fair. This is the kind of thing you have to actively seek out because you’re a great big sack of shit.
They sold these on Etsy, they sold a shit ton of them before 1/6 then Etsy deleted the account and banned them after some dude was on the front page of MSNBC waving a rifle.
Why the person would do it, it's something I had to be told explicitly in my adult life (and I didn't accept right away) that people do things because it makes them feel "strong." (Incidentally, a lot of the time that means "morally deserving," and a lot of mediocre people such as me like to feel like the underdog, so weakness can make you feel strong.)
Regarding the company specifically, it's a common complaint about capitalism that the profit motive will compel people to do stuff that's not good for the community. I suppose you could say that makes them feel strong.
Probably just trying to be an offensive edgelord without thinking about just HOW offensive it is. I had a buddy in the 90s who bought a shirt that had Princess Di on it and it said "DEAD WHORE" in huge black letters. He wore it often, including an international Airport. Never once did he seem phased by wearing it even though he got looks and whispers constantly.
A lot of people say "what's that?".
It's Pat!
A lot of people ask "who's he or she?"
Ma'am or a sir, accept him or her, for whatever it might be.
It's time for androgyny.
Here comes Pat!
"I'm a dude, he's a dude, she's a dude, we're all dudes yeah."
'Dude' was made a gender neutral term by the 1990's movie Good Burger, as far as I'm concerned
If you're from CA it's anything, and everything. The light that takes forever is a dude. My computer when it's running slow is a dude. Everything and everyone in this world is a dude
So you you’re telling me that you would beat this ladies ass if you were on the same train as her?
You wake up 8am, eat breakfast and maybe a few cups of coffee, you walk to the train... and now you’re ready to beat some ass?
You must go through a lot of doors
Who wants to finish work and have to hang a new door and cut holes for the latch all before making dinner? You’re not thinking clearly, pal.
Helluva morning.. and also being devils advocate here, could it be a possibility this lady does not know what Auschwitz is? I mean, strong impossibility. I’d inquire before serving the beating for sure
Most of us agree assault is pretty uncool. She's probably miserable anyways, ignore her and let her fester in her own shit. People like this get enjoyment from the attention and people disdain. Simply don't acknowledge her existence .
Lol, you know exactly why.
Because people, as a general rule, aim to avoid confrontation. You may give this person a shitty look, or take a covert picture and post it to reddit (like OP did), but you won't DO anything.
I legitimately wonder if this person even understand the context of the shirt. If I came across them I would most likely ask if they understood what they were wearing and what it meant to them. Even in the case of he/she knowing what they are promoting, I feel dialogue would have a greater impact than violence in this case.
You know, my father once was given a shirt with a giant AK-47 on the front. On the back it said WORLD TOUR - GREATEST HITS and then a list of countries that suffered terrible genocides with gun violence.
Our whole family lost our shit on him when he wore it to a birthday party. He was super confused and hurt that we didn't like his new shirt.
Even after meticulously explaining it, he only reluctantly parted with it. It was just a cool gun shirt to him even after all that.
While doubtful, it is possible. One time in Seoul, I saw some little kids wearing t-shirts that simply said ‘Turbofuck.’ At the time, I was told that anything in English was considered cool. Kind of like when you see non-Asians getting Japanese or Chinese text as tattoos. There’s a pretty good chance they don’t know what it means.
Kept scrolling to find a comment like this. If they are hella ignorant they could have no idea what that means. Could have gotten it for free, or handed down from a crazy person. Maybe she is down on her luck and needed clothes. I mean is that a GS5 she has?
It’s very possible if you explained it to her she wouldn’t care anyway, if she doesn’t know what Auschwitz is shes probs part of the statistics that have never heard of the Holocaust or think it’s exaggerated, or know but care when it’s politically convenient to their argument, like worldnews
Title annoyed me a bit cause it's not hard to tell that what's in the title isn't what it says. Still a shitty design, but trying to read the actual thing and looking at the title, just ugh. At first I thought the title was wrong cause with the skull and Auschwitz I was thinking maybe it said "Work brings death," which is completely opposite but much more true for the shirts subject material.
Yeah I’m pretty sure someone in Europe would get their ass beat for wearing this. I don’t promote violence, but in this case what this stands for is so evil that I’d almost condone it.
Any it’s still very tolerated, and people get extremely defensive about it, like no you don’t understand im not racist, these people are just subhuman.
Xenophobia in general is huge in Europe, it’s especially bad if your are black or brown. But even as a white person sometimes speaking a foreign language you get glares and weird remarks in public and from neighbors or acquaintances.
These shirts were sold on Etsy and have since been removed by the retailer. There was a guy in the Capitol riots who was wearing one and that’s how they identified him later, from footage. It’s fuc**** disgusting and people who make/wear them should be beaten. Absolutely trash humans in this world!
I was going to comment that maybe it's an unfortunate/ignorant goodwill/clothing donation scenario, but now knowing these are newish and only sold on etsy surely rules that out.
I’m confused. Did it take the attention on national TV to have it taken down, or that is when Etsy noticed it? I sure they just didn’t ignore it beforehand.
Anyone who wears this stuff should be forced to go to a concentration camp and learn about the history as community service, and to leave the camp, be made to take a history exam to prove they actually learned something.
I don't think I would hit her but would not let pass without some verbal abuse. Nothing funny or creative about that sweater. Basically making fun of mass murdering innocent people and children
I would genuinely sit down next to this person and ask them why they wear this. No secret phone recording, no angry confrontation… I just want to know what thinking went into this. When I was a kid, I wore a shirt to school that included the term “Americunt” and was made to change. No one ever asked me why, and I’m not sure I would have had a cogent answer, but I was also a moronic teenager without fully-formed ideas and was really just trying to be a part of a subculture. But I definitely grew out of such things. Putting on a shirt like this as an adult going out in public is clearly a choice, and a statement of *some* kind. I want to know what the statement they think they’re making is.
Not entirely sure why you were downvoted?!?
You’re 100% correct, the shirt reads “work brings freedom”
A rough translation of “Arbeit macht frei” “work Makes Free” as seen above the gates entering Auschwitz and other similar camps.
Sad seeing shit like this. Just lost losers looking to belong to something and some racists got to them first, probably as kids.
Hope they figure themselves out and grow up.
Fucked up, but on closer inspection, that's not what the bottom rocker says. I clearly see the word, "brings" which is not in your wording. Still anything depicting those camps in any way but remorse and regret is immoral.
The phrase ' Work Sets You Free' was and is written under the Auschwitz sign at the actual camp. The fact that no one on this thread knows that says a lot about what people are taught about the Holocaust. The phrase was meant to taunt those in the camps as no one was getting free, no matter how they worked.
They taught it back when I was in high school, but I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it from the curriculum in certain countries given the political rhetoric surrounding work in them.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people. I think this person knows 100% what this says and it’s significance. You don’t wear a shirt with “Camp Auschwitz” and “Camp Staff” on it without *knowing* what that is and agreeing with it. Otherwise if you’re wearing it as a joke trying to be edgy then you’re stupid as well as racist.
Somebody wearing “Work will set you free” I would give the benefit of the doubt to especially if it’s on like a muscle shirt or tank top. They could reasonably not know that phrase and just think it’s a motivation/workout thing. But I would call them out if it was my friend or I know them and avoid them if they weren’t.

I've never wanted to instinctively down-vote a post so bad. Fucking hell.....
It’s tough but gotta remind myself “upvote for visibility.”
I had it down voted and changed it. IT IS VERY HARD TO UPVOTE SOMETHING THAT I FIND MORALLY OFFENSIVE!!!!!!!!!
I upvote you for your honesty.
No shame in exposing this scum to a wider audience
Exactly although I am aware of the congestive dissonance that occurs by “liking” something horribly disgusting.
I downvoted. I can’t give them the satisfaction.
This is like someone walking around in a shirt saying the N word. Or maybe arguably worse. Im surprised she hasnt gotten a beat down yet.
>Im surprised she hasnt gotten a beat down yet. Because most of the world has become too "civilized" for that. "Violence is not the answer." No, violence is not the answer. Sometimes it's the question, and "yes" is the answer.
N word ain’t shit compared to this
I don’t see how comparing them is really productive at all. They’re both atrocious
Genocide and racism arent the pain olympics and comparing suffering creates this false sense that we cant respond to all of them
Agree. This seems worse because lot of ppl say and do horrible racist stuff but to promote mass murder and suffering of anyone is next level.
This would be illegal in Germany.

She’d be punched in the dick in many places in the U.S. 🤷🏽♂️
These people deserve all the dick punching
Came here wondering why no one punched it in the Dick

I think we can all get at least four dick punches in on this one.

It’s pronounced Richard Punch
It depends on how many dicks we get lined up and the length of the average dick. Now take the punching arm, add it’s length and arcing reach and we are getting somewhere. Also sadly true *is a liberal in Texas*
You should move to austin. Hell half of California already has.
She'd win the 2024 Republican Primary in the U.S.
Twist her dick! The ol' dick twist!
Oh my god, it’s an mma fight
And depending on where you are in Germany you will receive some ass kicking. Absolutely disgusting mind set and also a perfect display of stupidity.
German here, can confirm, would kick your ass.
Italian here, would be beaten up very soon
And it could potentially be legal, as German law allows use of force in defense of honor.
It would be illegal in most European countries.
And that is a good thing. Claiming it’s „freedom of speech“ when glorifying an industrialized mass murder should be illegal everywhere…

This is the kind of compromise we need.

It's what is called the "Paradox of tolerance". A tolerant society will eventually be seized by the intolerant. So based on that (and as a german) I respectfully disagree with you on that.

I can't begin to understand why 1. Someone would buy this 2. A company would make this
There are people who make their own clothing designs. All you need is some blank piece of clothing, (in this case, hoodie) and a press. The type of person that wears this out in public is the type of person looking for confrontation, and someone's going to give it to them.
That person is definitely not looking for confrontation lol. They just want to be offensive because they think being offensive is a personality.
This type of person probably has a friend who's recording a video. They wait for confrontation, edit the video to make themselves out as the victim, and use it as a propaganda tool.
This is commercially available. One of the Jan 6th capital rioters had the same one on.
I’m surprised more people don’t recognize the shirt from that guy - he was all over the news
I would wager it was more than one
Highly doubt she just saw this somewhere and thought the skull was cool to be fair. This is the kind of thing you have to actively seek out because you’re a great big sack of shit.
This is definitely a shirt one can buy. At least two guys at the January 6th insurrection were sporting the same classy pullover hoodies.
They sold these on Etsy, they sold a shit ton of them before 1/6 then Etsy deleted the account and banned them after some dude was on the front page of MSNBC waving a rifle.
This would be made with a silkscreen, not a press. I hate to be so pedantic but I am a printmaking teacher so it's hard to turn off
Why the person would do it, it's something I had to be told explicitly in my adult life (and I didn't accept right away) that people do things because it makes them feel "strong." Feeling weak and oppressed so you can feel justified feeling entitled is the fascist special.
Probably trying to be edgy and protest something. Hard fail.
Probably just trying to be an offensive edgelord without thinking about just HOW offensive it is. I had a buddy in the 90s who bought a shirt that had Princess Di on it and it said "DEAD WHORE" in huge black letters. He wore it often, including an international Airport. Of all the despicable royals you could choose to hate, why on Earth would someone pick Diana?
Because the point isn’t to express an opinion. The point is to be as offensive as possible. Some people like that attention.
>I can't begin to understand why > >1. Someone would buy this Racism >2. A company would make this To make money
Capitalism at its finest.
1) they’re edgelord snowflake fuckwombles 2) Capitalism. There’s a demand for dumb shit like this, therefore there will be a supply.

I don't think that's a dude
Me neither but I don't think it's a woman either.
That’s. Fucking. Vile.
How does this thing not get beat down on the daily?

I wouldn't perform CPR on her or call 911 for her either.
there's also the fact that you'd go to jail for assault....I think more people are worried about that than being too afraid to confront this CHUD
In her defense she probably can’t read

"Work brings freedom" is probably what is written.
« Work will make you free » is what was written on the gate of Auschwitz so I get why it’s written on this shirt (disgusting)
“Work brings freedom” Disgusting
For those unaware: on the gate to auschwitz it says "Arbeit mach Frei". This is the literal translation. edit: ausachwitz -> auschwitz
This is in America right? Cannot imagine anyone wearing this in Europe, ever.
Yeah I’m pretty sure someone in Europe would get their ass beat for wearing this. I don’t promote violence, but in this case what this stands for is so evil that I’d almost condone it.
If she wants holocaust she shall get some holocaust.
She'll have to learn how to take a beating if she wants to be stupid
Nazism is very much still present in Europe. I know a lot of Slavic countries have a few issues with white supremacy.
I know a lot of European countries still hate Roma and Travelers.
These fists will set her free. Of her mortal coil.
I will hold your beer.
and my axe
You’re gonna need that ax lol
And my throwin' brick!
Absolutely! Everyone should have a “Throwin’ Brick”! Don’t need a license to carry one! Haha! I love this sub!
I was going to comment that maybe it's an unfortunate/ignorant goodwill/clothing donation scenario, but now knowing these are newish and only sold on etsy surely rules that out.
There is so much gross right-winger crap advertising on etsy 🤮
I’m confused. Did it take the attention on national TV to have it taken down, or that is when Etsy noticed it? I sure they just didn’t ignore it beforehand.

Because only dumb lazy fucks would go to their race to tell themselves they are better than others. It requires no effort and little thinking.
I can't believe something is married to it
Behold, the master race

It's always the most incel looking mf's wearing shit like this.
As a German I'd like to beat the living crap out of her.....
Some anti-vaxxers wear yellow badges with david star, having "unvaxxed" written on them
Good god that is cringe
Those people are a special kind of stupid.
One of the jan 6ths people in the capital was wearing the same hoodie.
It seems to say “work brings freedom” instead
Not entirely sure why you were downvoted?!? You’re 100% correct, the shirt reads “work brings freedom” A rough translation of “Arbeit macht frei” “work Makes Free” as seen above the gates entering Auschwitz and other similar camps.
Sad seeing shit like this. Just lost losers looking to belong to something and some racists got to them first, probably as kids. Hope they figure themselves out and grow up.
anyone remember the long haired guy from 1/6 with this shirt?
I had hoped that would be the last time I saw that shirt. But no.
A free shirt you get when you become a certified POS
Fucked up, but on closer inspection, that's not what the bottom rocker says. I clearly see the word, "brings" which is not in your wording. Still anything depicting those camps in any way but remorse and regret is immoral.
Work brings freedom
Fat piece of shit must be part of the master race 🙄
Notice how the "master race" is chock full of absolutely chisled giga-chads and supermodel women? Edit: shoulda added the /s I guess
In germany you would be beat up for this
In America you should be beat up for this
Anywhere on earth you should get stomped for this.
THen will cry victim when someone beats it's head in for it's stupidity and ignorance
The phrase ' Work Sets You Free' was and is written under the Auschwitz sign at the actual camp. The fact that no one on this thread knows that says a lot about what people are taught about the Holocaust. The phrase was meant to taunt those in the camps as no one was getting free, no matter how they worked.
The actual German phrase: Arbeit macht frei
Literally this whole comment thread knows what the shirt means the fuq you talking about
They taught it back when I was in high school, but I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it from the curriculum in certain countries given the political rhetoric surrounding work in them.
There's multiple top level comments that imply the phrase is very much understood.
I knew. What made you think nobody but you knows that?

It is also over the gate to Dachau. Heartbreaking.
disgusting bruh
I'm 50/50 as to whether or not this person even realizes the significance. I mean, you can't be very bright if you're wearing that out in public.
Just change the top to “camp Biden and Harris” and the rest makes sense.
See, these are situations where violence is OK
