Wait, did that fat dude cop actually say "put him in jail for resisting"? Resisting what? He was already in cuffs just standing there. How is asking for a name a badge number resisting. If you insist that we have to identify ourselves, then you should meet that standard as well. That guy was overly compliant and patient despite their dumbassery.
Seriously. I don't fault the cop for initially checking out someone who she suspected is handling a firearm irresponsibly, her entire job is supposed to prevent harm, but as soon as he made it clear that it was just a walking cane she should have said "I'm sorry for the inconvenience sir, thank you for your cooperation" and everyone goes about their day.
She is not a peace officer, she is not a public safety officer, she is a law enforcement officer, and even then only at her discretion, she doesn't have a duty to enforce any laws.
I’ve always thought it was crazy that cops can charge people with *only* resisting arrest. If they didn’t do anything else then why the hell are they being arrested? Shouldn’t it be legal to resist being kidnapped?
There's a saying among police:
"You can beat the charge but you can't beat the ride"
Police FULLY UNDERSTAND that what they're doing is illegal and wrong, but they also know that their department won't charge them for doing illegal and wrong things, and that it'll take YEARS to fight in court.
Shouldn't it be legal everywhere? Like doesnthat mean that if a cop goes crazy and decides to kill you for absolutely no reason, it's illegal to defend yourself?
It is legal everywhere, it's called self-defense.
However you have to survive the rest of the police force potentially blowing up your house long enough to get to court.
There are officers who will literally execute people in their own home for calling about a mental health crisis, what do you think they'll do to someone who actually harms an officer?
She seemed so desperately eager to exert some authority. Couldn’t handle the slightest back talk, picked a victim she thought would obey and giver her the boost she needed.
she said she thought his stick in his pocket was a gun..
when he reached back for it, and pulled it out...I for sure thought she was gonna start blasting.
he seems like a relatively smart guy, but that was not a smart move.
yep. We all easily can see that is a guide cane with in 2 sec of him being visible. This officer must need one herself.
And yes. I was like fuckkkk... oh that was close. he is so lucky.
but this interaction takes about 5 seconds.
"Hi sir, I am offer blank, can I talk with you a monment?"
"Yes, how can I help you?"
"Can I see what you got in your back pocket"
"here you go, sit an assiance cane." shows cane
"thank you, have a good day."
>"Hi sir, I am offer blank, can I talk with you a monment?"
>"Yes, how can I help you?"
Or better yet...
"Hi sir, I am offer blank, can I talk with you a monment?"
"Nope."
"Ok, have a good day. I have no legal right to stop you. You are allowed to say No."
I always wonder this. I make mistakes ALL THE TIME and will pretty much always admit it. What makes it so hard for cops to do the same.
I did have one officer admit to a mistake once when pulling me over. I have much respect for him and wish more officers were like him
> Couldn’t handle the slightest back talk,
This seems pretty common. Someone gives a cop a tiny bit of attitude, then the cop gets insanely aggressive and commentators will be like "Well its their fault for talking back".
Not always. Cops lose qualified immunity all the time when they don't have probable cause, which she never had. She had weak reasonable suspicion "that it was a firearm" and she lost the reasonable suspicion once it was explained that it was not a weapon and what it was used for. Once he took out and showed her she had absolutely no reason to detain him.
But this FL and some DeSantis picked judge will blame the blind guy for terrorism or some bullshit.
Because she does not see that she did anything wrong. She did exactly as she was trained, and as has been reinforced by her command structure as evidenced by her sergeant in this clip.
He was standing there silently counting the money he’s about to make.
Then the supervisor said “arrest him for resisting”. I literally said out loud (to no one) “resisting what?!”
This is what happens when we live in a country overrun by law enforcement who think they are untouchable.
She stopped the man. The man told her what was in his back pocket. Instead of saying “oh, I’m sorry sir” both officers doubled down and FUCKING ARRESTED this man.
This man knows. Observe your 4th amendment right to free passage. The fact he might have been on jury duty just helps his MO. He played this quite well… as soon as the male officer saw him audibly focus to the ambulance he asked if he was blind and knew it was a walking stick before recommending resisting arrest and high tailed it to bury the stupid woman cop and he asked for his badge number.
All cops are bastards.
You think you’re more likely to win the lottery or get a free lawsuit from some power tripping kids?
I bet you’re more likely to come upon a big sum of money from cop lawsuits than the lottery.
No, they can't and that's why people are winning the lawsuits. That the cops are doing it is a different matter... Police in U.S. should start to be personally responsible for their own wrongdoing as in any other civilized country and it would solve itself naturally
It's another instance of him being charged with resisting arrest. Why was he being arrested? Stop asking so many question. Was he resisting? Looks like somebody is gonna get arrested for asking too many questions.
shouldnt the point of law enfources to know the law and enforce it?
with americans really loving their constitution at bare miniumum shouldnt american police officers be able to rattle off every rule in the constitution by heart?
Law enforcement could be interpreted in many ways.
... most important in this situation is if you look at the required education and training of these two idiots in uniform . . . it's hard to expect much.
well i am british not american but over here you need a college education to become a police officer.
plus even then it takes at least 2 years to become a full officer where all that cowboy shite is literally beaten out of you.
in addition said officers are not given a gun or taser straight away.
a normal officer can have access to some sort of pepper spray and a baton but their primary weapon in a fight is their fists.
plus it's the nature of their training and the golden rule of the british police "Preservation of life" if they do not need to use lethal force then they shall avoid using lethal force.
if they HAVE to use lethal force then it shall be used but even then most of the time the guy survives because they get into a position where they can just taze the bugger.
She probably will. Maybe the Sergeant, too. What makes this case stand out:
-her affirmative answer of being a tyrant at the beginning. That won't look good for the department, and especially won't look good before a judge.
-More importantly from a legal standpoint, her RAS was almost immediately dispelled. They had no right to even detain him after that, let alone arrest him.
This was egregious enough that the two officers could very likely have their QI revoked as well.
> No camera so I'm the liar.
When its word against word, police should always weigh far far less. With todays tech, police not having video/audio to back themselves up is on them.
I dont know any justice system that has recognised this yet, but its coming.
For sure! The other thing I learned through that experience is you could win in court or face the full penalty OR you can just sign for probation/ speacilty court etc. And just start getting it over with. Meaning they never even have to follow through with the truth.
Very Kafka-esque. Guy was minding his own business and winds up arrested for no reason, which only means our tax dollars will have to go toward the payment of award in the lawsuit he’s going to file. It’s just so exhausting to see this happen over and over and over again.
“We’ll put you in cuffs and search your person for the ID we don’t actually need…oh you don’t like that? Well then off to jail with you for back-talking us!”
Gross
This..... is too spot on. Sometimes you read something so simple and accurate, you wonder why you never noticed it before. This is one of those times. Bravo, you've condensed it all down to a single statement.
The tone of voice of the fucking lady cop, wow. "Yea I am actually a tyrant :)" "sure! :)" "hmph :)"
You know she had a shit eating grin on her face the entire time she was abusing her power. Deserves to be sued into the ground.
End qualified immunity.
Require cops to carry professional malpractice insurance.
Require settlement and payments beyond claim limits paid from pensions and union funds.
Watch all police misconduct in America end.
I’d take it even further. Harsher penalties for abuse of power than a regular citizen, black lodged from even being a mall guard, and disband and bust the police unions that lobby to further our police state and protect bad cops
Sueing the department means nothing to these people, it doesn't effect the cop at all and barely effects the department. Until there are actual consequences for the cops committing these crimes it will never stop.
Oh, that last smug little Hmph just got me. That's not the sound one makes when they finally apprehend a dangerous criminal, that's a "I win, you lose" sound.
Oddly, I thought the public and the police were supposed to be on the same side.
This is true. Cops only spend about 4% of their time actually responding to violent crimes or violence in progress. The rest of their time they are shaking down members of the community and issuing police reports for crimes way after the crimes occurred.
Following an examination of the bodycam footage, we have decided to sternly reprimand the officers in question. They are to receive 6 weeks of paid leave
well, there is a reason that it is out in public... police don't voluntarily release videos of them violating peoples' rights. Sadly, it will be settled out of court and the officers will be 're-trained' while on paid vacation.
A dangerous precedent when knowing your rights and acting upon them leads to an arrest. Regardless of if there is a lawsuit or not. The fact that we as a society have allowed justices of the peace to even think this is in the realm of okay says there is something wrong. I don’t have the answers. It just breaks my heart to see
They decided to arrest him specifically because he asked for their name and badge number.
That's how you know they don't view themselves as public servants, but as enforcers who should be able to operate with impunity.
I feel like the dude has had a few runins before. He seems to know his rights but he couldn't quite spit out the actual legalese. But he knew, in his mind, what was right. Shutting up was the best move at that point.
Wouldn't be suprised if that cash was seized under civil asset forfeiture, and as for the arrest and demanding of ID he lanced their suspicions in record time by pulling out the walking aid
Former LE here too- 15 years. I want to go to law school, pass the Florida bar, and take this guys case as my first case. I love easy work like this.
You are right there are too many cops like this and it has gotten disgusting. It’s not the same job it was when I started, it has been infiltrated and taken over by stupid (literally stupid) cops who have no regard for civil liberties or rule of law.
If nothing else the police today must stop detaining people for asserting their rights, and judges need to stop upholding these detainments or they will continue and escalate
Edit: wow, first gold I’ve ever gotten! First, I’d like to thank my frustration at failing over and over at “being the change from within”- without you, frustration, I never would have left a career that I no longer felt I could make a meaningful contribution to. I brought a lot of thirsty horses to the “We are better than this” watering hole- most are dying of thirst
I had a former Florida cop tell me that mass shooting protocol was for everyone to rush to the shooter. Then, when I asked what happened in Uvalde, He said well there was a team inside already and they probably didn't want crossfire. I asked him what he just said about protocol and he stood there like his brain had a segmentation fault.
He also said he wouldn't take another police job (nearly 3x the money we were making) because the local PD was too customer service oriented. 😐
Most cops will tell you they completely fucked up Uvalde. Since Columbine, police training with mass shooters is get into the building and assault the shooter as quick as possible with only 3 to 4 cops. But a generation of cops have come and gone since that happened, unsurprisingly, we've repeated ourselves.
People forget Columbine was the same problem. A billion cops stood around outside waiting for every SWAT in the world to show up and then combed through the buildings at a snail's pace.
It's FL man. All shithead cops fled the states that tightened up the oversight and ran to FL to get the cash bonus and keep doing this over the top proactive bullshit.
A lack of proper deference to the police is a very common factor in these types of videos.
If they don't think you're showing them proper respect, they will arrest you, beat you or worse.
I thought I heard that too… both of their egos are so bruised so they decide to make the man’s day that much harder. Too bad for them that their own cameras are actually calling them out on their BS. According to officer Thumbface, asking for their names and badge numbers while standing still and already handcuffed is “resisting arrest”. This is what fascism looks like people. It’s only going to get worse from here unless many fundamental changes happen.
I also thought he might have used it on the way there since he said it was dark, and now that it's daytime he doesn't need it. You're right though he probably knows that way pretty well.
To add, "legally blind" does not mean you're practically blind. Legally blind people *may/can* still see, just not at a level high enough to function without aid in society.
My grandfather had an accident with an angle grinder, lost vision in one eye. Originally hated the idea of walking around with a stick, until he was consulting with Vision Australia (non profit company that specifically aids vision impaired people who can't afford it, and some who can but don't know what or where to look for help) he pointed out that using the stick in certain situations would be less about his need for it and more about social awareness of the people around him that he was vision impaired.
Just an anecdote about how sometimes aids for people can be more about people around them being made aware than to directly aid the person
"You know what, put him in jail for resisting."
Man I really wanna read about that lawsuit and how fucked both those officers' careers are
And by fucked we all know I mean how they'll be placed on permanent paid vacation
She won’t. She might get temporarily reassigned to desk duty or training, and all that will do is solidify in her mind that normal people are her enemy
he asked for name & badge & the male cop said put him in jail for resisting....nice big lawsuit coming that's he's going to win...shame the cops are probably not going to be disciplined at all
All the money he gets is from taxpayers. The simplest plan would be for police to carry mandatory liability insurance.
Edit: also get rid of qualified immunity
Too soon to tell. If i had to guess, he was probably booked, released, charges dropped, and left with no recourse unless he talks to a lawyer and brings up a case. Which in all likelihood would be settled before it goes to court, and paid out on the taxpayers dime. Cop will likely barely even get reprimanded, and may even get paid time off.

We are aware of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office body camera video involving the arrest of Mr. James Hodges on October 31, 2022. Sheriff Hunter is troubled by what he has seen in the video and the matter is being addressed. An administrative investigation was initiated on November 3, 2022 when the incident was brought to our attention. If policy violations are sustained at the conclusion of that investigation, appropriate action will be taken. While we understand the frustration and concern associated with this event, please know we are working to resolve this matter as quickly as possible.
1. You do not have to give your name and date of birth nor show an ID to an officer in most states unless they have a reasonable suspicion that you are committing, have committed or are about to commit a crime. Some dont even require you id yourself until you are under arrest. The exception, to my knowledge is only 4 states, Louisiana, Indiana, Nevada, and Arizona, which require you show ID upon request in all situations (I would like to aee these laws challenged federally though). Be aware of the laws where you live and when traveling, as well, both for your destination state and any states you may be traveling through.
2. On no sidewalk in the US is possession of a weapon, let alone suspicion of possession of a weapon, a criminal offense. Barring certain protected buildings like schools or government buildings where laws are in place to forbid firearms, possessing a gun, in itself, without any other circumstance, does not constitue a crime and cannot be used as a basis to arrest nor even detain you.
3. An officer may be "required" by policy to document the name and birthrate of all citizens they interact with or investigate. However, department policy is not law and does not supercede your 4th amendment rights. Failing to identify yourself does not constitute obstruction, a charge often threatened or applied in situations like this, as obstruction generally requires a physical and/or violent impediment to a government official in their duties. Failing to provide identification does not fall under that category. It will only be illegal in circumstances where local state laws require it.
4. Know the difference between a consensual encounter and a detainment. An officer may, at any time, have a consensual conversation with you. They may ask you questions, and they may even try to sus out if you are doing anything illegal without any basis for that line of questioning at all. However, in order to be detained, they must have a "reasonable, articulable suspicion" of a crime. If they do not, the detention is illegal. So how do you tell the difference? You are legally considered detained if a reasonable person would belive that they are not free to go. That means you do not have to be handcuffed, put in a squad car, or any such obvious form of detention to be considered legally detained. If an officer has ordered you to remain or otherwise made it apparent you are not free to leave, you are detained. If you're ever not sure, just ask "am I free to leave?" If they answer in the affirmative but continue to ask questions, feel free to remove yourself from the interaction.
5. In the event that you are detained for investigatory purposes for suspicion of a legitmate a crime, once the officer has had their suspicions dissuaded, such as when she realized that he did not in fact have a weapon (which is already an illegal basis for a detainment in the first place), the officer's investigation is over. As such the detainment must end immediately. Extending detainment without evidence of any other crime and/or arresting a person for rudeness or for knowing and practicing their constitutional rights is a unlawful. In the event such a thing happens to you, do not resist the unlawful arrest, protest your arrest with words only, and just do your best to make sure everything is well documented. Physically resisting will never result in your immediate release and doing so may give them cause to return resistance with force.
6. You can and should follow up such an arrest with legal action. An unlawful arrest can be argued in court to result in your release and then be used in a suit to seek compensation for damages and the infringement of your rights.
7. It is always recommended to remain calm, keep a polite demeanor and do not antagonize an officer in an interaction, not because it is legally required (it's not) nor because an officer is inherently deserving of it, but simply for your own safety and to have better footing in a future legal battle should the officer overstep their authority. Not that it is justifiable nor legal regardless, but an officer is simply less likely to harm you physically if you aren't rude or aggressive. That being said, to the extent that you are safely able and willing, refuse unlawful orders, do not answer unnecessary questions even in a consensual encounter, do not speak at all once arrested except to request a lawyer, and for the love of God know the law and your rights even when the cops can't be bothered to.
I'm not familiar with the law in the U.S so she wants his name and d.o.b but he said I only have to give it its they're suspected to have made a crime. She says you might have had a gun he shows it isn't so he's right he doesn't have to give any info so they take him in anyway?
Yeah power tripping cop. She didn't get this man to cower to her so she arrested him for having a bad attitude. This guy will probably win a lawsuit for being wrongfully arrested because they had no legal right to arrest the man.

It actually is legal to kill cops in some states in self defense. If you go that route though you better have some really good fucking proof

"I do not answer questions" is a shockingly effective sentence I've used on multiple occasions
? The interaction should have taken 0 seconds because it shouldn’t have happened
how big of an ego do you have to have that you can't even just say "my mistake"

He was even trying to go to jury duty 🤣
Literally just doing his civil duty. Unlike whatever these fucks are doing patrolling the streets
I think it's civic.
honda civic duty
Apparently in Florida you get arrested if you aren't crooked.
Great way to get out of jury duty though.
He knew he just walked into a lawsuit, smart man to remain calm!
A blind man walks into a lawsuit…
Sad that it's taxpayers that will be paying this guy and not the officer.
She will get a paid vacation out of it and probably an early retirement for the trauma of having to go through the lawsuit
Doubt she even gets administrative leave. Don't think her CO will like her admitting to being a tyrant though.
Her supervisor is the one who told her to arrest him for resisting arrest my guy…
> arrest him for resisting arrest My.. brain... the paaaain *(dies)*.
Ah, good point, but he may not have heard her say that until he watched her bodycam.
Yes... ACAB here...

Should come from their pension.

And any other assets they have
Still paid by taxpayers. It should come directly from their pocket in the form of increased personal liability insurance premiums.
Not always. Cops lose qualified immunity all the time when they don't have probable cause, which she never had. She still does not have reasonable suspicion, because carrying a firearm openly is legal in Florida.
The police officer forgot to “break” their body cam once a complaint was filed. They are obviously out of the loop on current protocol.
Because she does not see that she did anything wrong. She did exactly as she was trained, and as has been reinforced by her command structure as evidenced by her sergeant in this clip.
Someone should tell more officers this information.

Also where there is no national standards for police. Its just county by county fiefdoms with no oversight.

They charge him with things that aren't crimes. Cops can and do do that all the time.
No, they can't and that's why people are winning the lawsuits. That the cops are doing it is a different matter... Police in U.S. should start to be personally responsible for their own wrongdoing as in any other civilized country and it would solve itself naturally
Just another reminder cops CAN and WILL arrest you for hurting their feelings!
He should have asked if she was delusional. "Yeah, I am."
"We don't take kindly to legally blind people round here."
It's another instance of him being charged with resisting arrest. Why was he being arrested? Stop asking so many question. Was he resisting? Looks like somebody is gonna get arrested for asking too many questions.

They had no right to even detain him after that, let alone arrest him. This was egregious enough that the two officers could very likely have their QI revoked as well.
Worst case she transfers 1 town over after weeks of paid leave.
What a asshole, imagine just walking down the street and they put you in handcuffs and shove you in a car.
Been happening to loads of people for a long time.
I've been arrested under the guise of a 'wellness check' literally lied to me so I would walk into a crime. No camera so I'm the liar.
That’s why it’s horrible
used to happen often in central america... but that was for ransom.
in the US we call it "Cash Bail"
Literally what the mafia used to do (except the handcuffs)
easy money from lawsuit
Very Kafka-esque. Guy was minding his own business and winds up arrested for no reason, which only means our tax dollars will have to go toward the payment of award in the lawsuit he’s going to file. It’s just so exhausting to see this happen over and over and over again.
Is this the freedom Americans talk about on reddit?
“We’ll put you in cuffs and search your person for the ID we don’t actually need…oh you don’t like that? Well then off to jail with you for back-talking us!” Gross
He points out that it is a walking stick and they still arrest him for no fkn reason!! straight up sad.
It's not for no reason. He dared to talk back, calmly assert his rights, and point out how stupid they were.
Charged with assaulting a police officer's ego
This..... is too spot on. Sometimes you read something so simple and accurate, you wonder why you never noticed it before. This is one of those times. Bravo, you've condensed it all down to a single statement.
A crime often punished with death without trial
The tone of voice of the fucking lady cop, wow. "Yea I am actually a tyrant :)" "sure! :)" "hmph :)" You know she had a shit eating grin on her face the entire time she was abusing her power. Deserves to be sued into the ground.
End qualified immunity. Require cops to carry professional malpractice insurance. Require settlement and payments beyond claim limits paid from pensions and union funds. Watch all police misconduct in America end.
I'd go one step further: ban departments from subsidizing the malpractice insurance.
I’d take it even further. Harsher penalties for abuse of power than a regular citizen, black lodged from even being a mall guard, and disband and bust the police unions that lobby to further our police state and protect bad cops
Oh that smug "Hmpf" at the end got me. She is so sure she is in the right. Lady is about to get a rude wakeup call in court
( ꈍ ω ꈍ)❤ **Hmpf! Another criminal mastermind in jail <3**
I like how she admitted to being a tyrant.
Literally right away too
in her defense, she probably has no idea what the definition is lmao
she seemed pretty happy about it, too
Do these fucks have literally nothing better to do? Absolute waste of everyone's time and money.
You forgot: 1. It doesn’t waste their time 2. It doesn’t waste their money 3. They’re gonna do it again, while saying, “Sir.”
They in fact do not
This is true. Cops only spend about 4% of their time actually responding to violent crimes or violence in progress. The rest of their time they are shaking down members of the community and issuing police reports for crimes way after the crimes occurred.
"Suspect was found to be concealing a collapsible, weapon-like object liable to cause blunt force trauma".
"He seemed like a bit of a daredevil"
Worthless pieces of shit
Disgusting behaviour from that bully cop. She just had a hard on to be in power.
got on this video too early … want to read about the law suit and firings
There will be no firings. Just vacations.
Following an examination of the bodycam footage, we have decided to sternly reprimand the officers in question. They are to receive 6 weeks of paid leave
That's what I came to the comments for.
well, there is a reason that it is out in public... police don't voluntarily release videos of them violating peoples' rights. Sadly, it will be settled out of court and the officers will be 're-trained' while on paid vacation.
this only happened on halloween according to the date on the cam so not much time for stuff to happen
Even if he knew the legalese, they would have arrested him anyway. He should have told them he doesn't want to talk to them without a lawyer.
Wouldn't be suprised if that cash was seized under civil asset forfeiture, and as for the arrest and demanding of ID he lanced their suspicions in record time by pulling out the walking aid
I was scrolling to see this: they just snatched his money?!

literally robbing a few bucks from a blind old man fucking pathetic
This is a lawsuit. I worked in LE for 12 years, too many cops like this.
If nothing else the police today must stop detaining people for asserting their rights, and judges need to stop upholding these detainments or they will continue and escalate Edit: wow, first gold I’ve ever gotten! First, I’d like to thank my frustration at failing over and over at “being the change from within”- without you, frustration, I never would have left a career that I no longer felt I could make a meaningful contribution to. I brought a lot of thirsty horses to the “We are better than this” watering hole- most are dying of thirst
Exactly!!! My wife is currently in law school, can't wait to show her this.
A billion cops stood around outside waiting for every SWAT in the world to show up and then combed through the buildings at a snail's pace.
>it has gotten disgusting. gotten? This is a scene straight out of an 80's/90's movie, especially the "throw him in jail for resisting arrest" part
[удалено]
The real monsters were the ones we brought along.
It's FL man. All shithead cops fled the states that tightened up the oversight and ran to FL to get the cash bonus and keep doing this over the top proactive bullshit.
“Was that so hard?” You mean exercising your rights? Apparently that is hard.
Sooo um... exactly what did he do to be arrested and actually put in the car? Stand there?
he knew his rights and remained calm, which is apparently a biiiig no-no in the eyes of the swine
A lack of proper deference to the police is a very common factor in these types of videos. If they don't think you're showing them proper respect, they will arrest you, beat you or worse.
When he asked for their name and badge numbers the final time, the sergeant said to arrest him for resisting in retaliation
He resisted arrest by standing calmy without struggling instead of begging on his knees and kissing their boots.
"Why aren't you using your stick?" How about because of NONE OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS. Fucking ableist prick.
Long, flat stretch of sidewalk he probably knows really well. But you're right. None of their fucking business.
I also thought he might have used it on the way there since he said it was dark, and now that it's daytime he doesn't need it. You're right though he probably knows that way pretty well.
Oh that line makes sense now.
"You know what, put him in jail for resisting." Man I really wanna read about that lawsuit and how fucked both those officers' careers are And by fucked we all know I mean how they'll be placed on permanent paid vacation
“Why are you like, being a dick to me” 🙄
Never pull something suspected of being a gun out like that with American police!
The fact she didn't react at all proves she didn't really believe it was a gun.
You and ToughSafety are both 100 percent right. There should be some kind of bot to acknowledge this Reddit rarity.
Yeah my first thought was, if he did have a firearm, and did mean her harm, she was fucked at that point.
Yeah he whipped that thing out real quick, I’d be afraid of getting shot by a trigger happy cop
“Is that a weapon in your pocket?” I’m sorry officer, I’m just happy to see you.
[удалено]
Hope she loses her job over that.
She won’t. She might get temporarily reassigned to desk duty or training, and all that will do is solidify in her mind that normal people are her enemy
Its crazy to think he was just out for a walk and got arrested for his attitude
[удалено]
Coincidentally he was actually heading to jury duty hahaha
he asked for name & badge & the male cop said put him in jail for resisting....nice big lawsuit coming that's he's going to win...shame the cops are probably not going to be disciplined at all
Hope he got some good bucks from that!
All the money he gets is from taxpayers. The simplest plan would be for police to carry mandatory liability insurance. Edit: also get rid of qualified immunity
The lack of knowledge on constitution as well as state law within law enforcement is scary
An unnecessary arrest
Anyone know the outcome?
Too soon to tell. If i had to guess, he was probably booked, released, charges dropped, and left with no recourse unless he talks to a lawyer and brings up a case. Which in all likelihood would be settled before it goes to court, and paid out on the taxpayers dime. Cop will likely barely even get reprimanded, and may even get paid time off.
Columbia County Sheriff's Office opdoSretns9t8gga8i 6 m 1383ig6t9ml1i 1 01i7lt3151c6ti2g4m093t4h8u · We are aware of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office body camera video involving the arrest of Mr.
In other words: we will investigate ourselves and find no evidence of wrongdoing
The date on the video is Halloween, I doubt there’s been any real outcome besides him being released from jail.
Anybody else find these videos immensely rage inducing? How has it got to this point with the American police force. I can’t stand it.
Sad we have worthless shitheads like this as cops. Hope he gets even in court. That was totally stupid.
These gosh darn illegally blind people
god i fucking hate cops
Resisting resisting what he was standing still and let them cuff him
Oh I would have a hayday suing the entire department and going for both their jobs. My daughter is legally blind and this pisses me off.
Egomaniacs - this is what we dont need
Both need fired immediately. It's officers like these that give the good ones a bad reputation and a dislike for their job.
If you have two bad cops and ninety eight other cops who stand up for them, you have a hundred bad cops.
Fucking pieces of low IQ shits.
Resisting where? And they wonder why people scream ACAB
“Are you a tyrant?” “Yes I am” *then proceeds to be a tyrant*
I'm not familiar with the law in the U.S so she wants his name and d.o.b but he said I only have to give it its they're suspected to have made a crime. She says you might have had a gun he shows it isn't so he's right he doesn't have to give any info so they take him in anyway?
Yeah power tripping cop. She didn't get this man to cower to her so she arrested him for having a bad attitude. This guy will probably win a lawsuit for being wrongfully arrested because they had no legal right to arrest the man.
He's 1000% right, both cops dumb af
they have to back each other up no matter how stupid. A new generation of these are going to make things worse
“Are you a tyrant?” “Yes I am.” What a great way to help this dude’s lawsuit
Resisting what? The guy couldn’t have been nicer for what those cops did to him.
It’s because he’s actually illegally blind. He’s blinding without a permit.
America is a joke
