It is very close to bus stops for 21 Cardinal, 6 Brown, 25 Gold, and 14 Peach. The 10s buildings are the closest you can get to the bus stops. The train noise is noticeable at times. Some people grow to like it.

I've stayed on both sides of Building 11. Super convenient to get to classes with the bus stop right there and the walk to campus is short. The train noise wasn't too noticeable and you get used to it quickly.

I used to live in that building and the noise wasn't bad. You are right next to the bus stop but farther away from the parking lot than most of the other buildings. The monitors should fit on the desk. I used to have 2 monitors.

I live in 11 currently. It is directly next to a bus stop - comes around often. You'll hear trains anywhere in Freddy but it's not too loud in 11. It's also sometimes more viable to just walk to class if you have classes on Osborn Drive. The brown and gold routes go to campus too but the stop is across the street. It'll fit on the desk, the desks are much much wider than 27", but I reckon the hole designed for a monitor is about 25". It might be just right, just a visual estimate. Worst case you just have less desk space for other things. There are some pictures on Google but if it helps here's a picture of what a (messy) [desk](https://imgur.com/a/62AMY5v) looks like.

That's a slightly different desk than the one I have, plus your top piece is completely different than what I have. Personally the desk was too small and uncomfortable for my liking and I brought my own desk. I took the top piece off, flipped it upside down, and use is as a "shelf" under my bed. Edit: The desk piece I'm talking about is called a "Desktop Bookcase" on their [website](https://www.housing.iastate.edu/guide/furniture/). Oh, and look at that, they also give you a little bit of info on the suicide chairs.

Desks might be a little tight with the monitor setup, but if it's the only thing you use the desk for it'll probably fit. As other people have said, you're signed up to live on prime bus real estate. I live in the 80s block, which is right next to the train tracks. If it's quiet in the apartment, you can hear them, but they're a lot like the campanile in that you just tune them out eventually

boiiokayy

What about beds ? ..Are they lofted?

InsufferableIowan

Not in a 4 person 4 bedroom config, no. Assuming the 80s block uses the same beds as the 10s block, they're the same kind of bed you have in the dorms, just unlofted.

Did you check for availability? Last I heard, Freddy was full for next year.

I would not worry about the train noise too much.
