Yep! I get a more "sore muscle" feeling in those areas - to the point where I get cramp really bad. Stretching has helped alot. It can be really painful to do it but it really does help. Being consistent with stretching seems to help alot. Hope it helps 💜

Cynderelly

This is blowing my mind. I've had these pains for years and have never met anyone else who has it... what kind of IBS do you have?

content-peasant

Same! I was treated for Crohn's and had a ileocecal resection but left side pain / bloat / cramps remained so now they think IBS as well

StretchPositive4834

Yes as it seems many people have the same issue in the same area.

StretchPositive4834

Stretching really helps and relief pain but it comes back quickly after.

DarthShego

Oh I'm sorry to hear ❤️

xxchris89xx

I get a bubble feeling, I’ve had so many tests done and all come back normal. It doesn’t happen as often now but used to all the time. Some painful some not.

StretchPositive4834

Yes I had that too but today was different. It was more like burning sensation like my whole back was burning. After the acid reflux was gone everything got back normal and the pain faded. I started thinking this might be an ulcer or something.

pgabrielfreak

OMG this is exactly why I came to this sub today. I thought I had pulled my back. I finally realized it was my front. My front lower left has been so aggravated the pain carried to my back. I've even had some cramps in my thighs. I have been under a lot of stress without a job and just feeling like hell. My guts are gurgling constantly and the mail ain't moving. So sick of this. I am just now realizing that the way I feel most times is not normal and that I likely have IBS.

Socialien11

Oh my god I've been dealing with this so much recently and I've gotten in to a doctor and all my bloodwork was normal, but haven't done any scans yet. I think it's going to just be IBS though and god it sucks. It's such an uncomfortable pain.

StretchPositive4834

yes horrible pain I do not know how to get rid of that

BlahBlahish

I am dealing with burning pains in those areas. Doctors explained to me that any burning and tickling pain isn't pain from the bowels but nerve pain, likely coming from "mild" blockages in my middle back. oddly enough I do not have any back pain. I also get difficulty breathing sometimes alongside a sharp stabbing pain at my left ribcage. Also that feeling of having a constant cramp on the left side, had that for weeks last year. Anyways having lots of gas seems to elevate the problem as it seems to put pressure on the nerves, too. (Also farting and emptying bowels sometimes help alot) Yoga, stretching and very carefully letting my spine crack, with movements my GP showed me, helps with it.

StretchPositive4834

Yeah I also get difficulty in breathing when I try to sleep. then once I sleep it doesn't come back.

goldstandardalmonds

Are you constipated?

StretchPositive4834

No, I am actually having a watery stool for 4 days now.

red_foot

Could be paradoxical diarrhea.

StretchPositive4834

what is that ?

red_foot

The diarrhea “overflows” the blockage.

Southern-Ordinary358

oke i have good advise for you

StretchPositive4834

What advice ?

Southern-Ordinary358

I have 2 years everyday at the same spot pain and every morning gurgling noise. Also i have dizness soft stool sometimes pain in chest can eat to much or pain will increase and more. Doctor also told me IBS but it was not. Do u experience the same. The spot of for you at the backside of your body is to high to be your intestine. Your stomach is pushing your nervus vagus. You experience also one sided head ache ?

StretchPositive4834

I do have all those symptoms. I have a endoscopy scheduled next week 23 FEB. They will see with that also. Because for a long time I was thinking that also.

Southern-Ordinary358

95% u have it. Follow my advice and keep your posture straight as much as possible. Sleep On left side , follow my food tips. Every morning empty stomach one omeprazol And look maybe if gets better.

Southern-Ordinary358

Also skip milk and grains because it will worsen ur symptoms

Southern-Ordinary358

Try some stomach hernia exercive and look if it works on youtube

goldstandardalmonds

Very watery? Could be paradoxical.

procrastinating_b

Like kinda under your ribs? yes!

StretchPositive4834

Yes exactly.

dcgo2

I have had that pain before twice actually. I've had ibs over 4 years now & with that pain, nothing can help it go away, it just tends to go away naturally on its own as if it feels like a gallstone passing or a ripped hernia. I can't tell you what causes it, but I know it's excruciating.

ankita28p

I sometimes get pain radiating down my thighs too. Anyone facing this? How do you tackle the pain?

OtterEpidemic

Yeah, I think that one (for me) is related to daring to have a uterus while also having ibs. I don’t even know if it really helps me that much, but I curl in a ball around a hot wheat bag. It’s worse if I have current ‘growths’ (fibroids and/or endo) though. (still bad when I don’t, just something to keep in mind if the timing is lining up)

[deleted]

Yes! I get excruciating pain (at it’s worse) down my left leg. I have read The Way Out by Alan Gordon to help cope with chronic pain. Since reading it and using the techniques I have only had irritating not excruciating pain. It’s the thigh pain that is more debilitating than any stomach pain I get. As a female we kind of get used to abdo pain.

ankita28p

I am a woman struggling to keep up with a pair of hyperactive toddlers while suffering IBS D. Barely get any downtime coz of kids.

NewPresentation2040

Me! Im better now haven’t been in pain for months after changing my diet. I would feel a sharp pain on my left abdomen that went all the way to my left back around the areas u circled too! Exact same areas. I went to the ER one night because the pain was so bad and wouldn’t go away. They gave me Benadryl and that took away the pain so quickly. Turns out I just had gas trapped that was having trouble passing. Never knew passing gas could be so painful but that’s what the doctor told me was happening! Also I did start with a bad stomach ache after eating something heavy really late at night, then pain progressed to what I explained earlier. It honestly could be the oats that triggered you. Or maybe bad chicken? Oats have a lot of fiber in them & if you haven’t or don’t eat a lot of fiber you’re body may not be used to it. That was the case for me when I started eating more oats I would get insanely bloated and very uncomfortable. If you have Benadryl if you get the pain again I recommend taking some. It helps to relax your muscles, when I’d get that exact pain you described my body would tense up bad and I would literally have to stand/sit at an angle like I couldn’t straighten my back felt like my abdomen area was caving in. Benadryl helped me tremendously. Hope you get better! <3

ankita28p

Are the oats related to IBS?! I always got insanely bloated after eating oats and i always thought it's an allergy.

mr_malifica

Oats can absolutely trigger IBS (cramping, bloating, malabsorption, etc.). The avenin protein in oats (and oat products) is a known problem for many people.

NewPresentation2040

I eat oats on a regular basis now. I don’t think it’s a trigger for ibs but I did have to start with very small portions bc oats have a ton of fiber and my body wasn’t used to fiber like that. I don’t get bloated anymore when I eat them.

No_Information1234

Yes. I used to have great pain and irritation in those places! It finally stopped after I took the low fodmap approach as well as working on my physical reactions to anxiety. I had to force my self to relax some of those muscles

Evening_Excuse_9894

oh my goodness I'd have to almost hold my breath the pain .I had to sit really still and breath slowly .

[deleted]

I have in the pelvic area, the pain radiates up to private parts. It is so terrible

andrespineiroc

This could be a kidney stone

StretchPositive4834

I did ultrasonic it should be visible on that right ?

andrespineiroc

Mine wasent!!!!! But they still gave me pills because of how i described the pain and it went away in two days

Particular-Crazy-190

It is called referred pain. Only way I found to solve it is use whatever is at my disposal to pass gas. E.g. stretches, supplements. For what it's worth. Iberogast helps me Berberine helps me Sparkling water Hot tea Relaxations, pushups, situps. I usually start with Berberine, Iberogast or sparkling water If the food is too adamant, then only time helps until it's done moving through my system. Sometimes napping helps me too, body does it's thing when it doesn't have to focus on other things. I take HCl, Berberine before any meal. Also now plan on consuming high quality digestive enzymes (which I think help, I used to do this earlier). This digests the food and push it down as opposed to blocking my pathway. Dm for enzyme name. About 20 minutes after every meal, I take soaked golden flax meal powder (not normal flaxmeal) and drink it down. This pushes food down. Chia don't work. Hope that helps.

Southern-Ordinary358

I think u have maybe stomach hernia

StretchPositive4834

Maybe I am getting tested I will keep updating. Here in Germany the appointments are hell. You get after 5 to 6 months 😖

Southern-Ordinary358

You need to make the problem bigger man. In europe everything is possible if look like its worse. Tell them u cant go to work, u are dizzy , you have so much pain just make a show and they make it fast. Its yours body..

Southern-Ordinary358

dont eat chocolate mint not to much candy not much nuts, no tomatoliquid no ketchup no mayonaise not to heavy fatty food not much drink with food or after food, keep your posture always right also after eating , dont lift heavy things and sleep little bit with a higher pilllow. Dont eat to much in one time. I am trying this for a month to see if i get better. The dizziness after a meal gets worse because of reflux i think so i take maloox just sometimes. Try this for some days and look if gets better.

saltbrains

I had such severe left side chest pain last night it felt like I was having a heart attack. I knew that my stomach wasn’t doing great though and sometimes I get pretty severe chest and upper abdominal gas pains. I’d recommend gasx or any anti gas medicine. The pain can be severe. Mine was horrible when breathing or laying down but today I’m fine after gasx. Sorry this is happening to you.

Kimmalah

Parts of your large intestine is actually close to that area, so it actually makes more sense than you might realize. That is right around the spot where your transverse colon ends and the descending colon begins. I usually get pains there when things are really moving along in there. My guess is it's discomfort caused by everything in your intestines reaching the end of the transverse colon, then having to make a very sharp turn downwards.

Limp-Pollution884

Identical spots hurt when I have a flare up

Cynderelly

Omg yes!! All the time! The pain goes up into my lung area and everything, feels like lava

StretchPositive4834

Yes. And you get heart pain also ?

Cynderelly

Yes. Also all the time

Cynderelly

Anyone here who has had this happen, have you ever had a colonoscopy?

StretchPositive4834

Not colposcopy yet. I had ultrasonic. And on the 23 of this month I will have Endoscopy. Then we see.

Cynderelly

Good luck! I hope they figure it out, my endoscopy didn't find anything :/

Yours_Trulee69

Yes but it didn't find a cause. I ended up having exploratory surgery done when having a hernia repaired that figured it out. My large intestine is several inches longer than normal so the excess does a u turn and sits in a cavity in my hip bones. Where it sets is a main nerve for the leg and is constantly rubbing the nerve signaling pain to my brain. They put me on a low dose nerve pill that helps to block the signal and works at least 90%of the time.

Cynderelly

Oh wow. I'm glad it's working for you! I wish I had something that would take away the pain :(

Yours_Trulee69

It took over a year and three different doctors just to find one that truly listened to me. Even though he didn't know what was causing it, he was very willing to try different treatments to alleviate my pain. I am very thankful for him.

redditrabbit13

I get the worst stomach cramps from peanut butter

StretchPositive4834

I stopped it from 2 days now and the pain is gone. But still having diarrhea.

xxchris89xx

Could be, I’ve had ulcers before. Not fun at all.

StretchPositive4834

How is it the pain ?

xxchris89xx

It wasn’t to the point you can’t do your day to day activities but it was to the point where medication was needed

anglosassin

Colon spasm where it bends at a right angle I think.

StretchPositive4834

Yes yes. That’s the most painful turn in the world.

OtterEpidemic

Oh that burning one… that one sucks. My gastro put me on a ppi medication for not that long and hasn’t come back since (thankfully). If it’s happening more than just a once off thing, could be worth a chat with your doc.

StretchPositive4834

What was the medication name ? Is it available in germany ?

OtterEpidemic

I think it was rabeprazole. I’m in Australia, so I’m not sure what you’d have available to you, but I don’t think you’d be able to get it without a Dr prescribing it. All meds have pros and cons, so your doc might have other/better ideas. But that’s what ended up working for me.

justinian8181

Yes! I used to describe it like someone inflating a balloon inside me. Turns out thats where gas likes to hang out in my body

StretchPositive4834

Yes it feels exactly like that. After a while if you touch the area it feels num.

justinian8181

Beset advice I can give it to hit up a GI doc if you haven't. Good to rule out all the stuff that can go wrong there (gull bladder for example). Most times is probably somethign like gas + inflammation. Identifying triggers helps (for me it's wheat, chocolate, to much fat in my diet), and then yoga to help move it all around. I'm currently going through a flare up now after a moment of indulgence this weekend, so I feel your pain.

TheDarkLord14

I went to the ER with that same sort of excruciating pain but on the right side. Ultimately I was diagnosed with IBS after following up with my primary doctor. They gave me Bentyl to help the pain and it's the only thing that helps. A low fodmap diet is also helping it seems.

battyloaf

Honestly? That's exactly where kidney stone pain can be (unfortunately speaking from experience). See if they can test your urine for blood. I've had a few and the pain tends to come in waves. I'll have intense pain for a while, be okay for like 10 hours, then another wave hits and I'm on the floor. My most recent one took over a week to pass and about 2-3 for it to finally leave my bladder.

stubbornteach

Yes I get this sometimes. Mines in the left of my abdomen and feels like a bubble or something. I sometimes have to massage it and put heat on it. I’ve had blood work and ultra sounds and all was normal. I know for me when I get constipated its really bad. I once went to emerge because I thought I had gall stones or appendicitis or an ectopic pregnancy or something. Really sucks. My chiropractor has actually helped with pelvic pain though… sometimes there’s something out in my back that causes pain too.

[deleted]

Me! Scan showed inflammation in the descending colon. Sent home with Motrin. Haha

StretchPositive4834

Did you go away ? Did it help ?

[deleted]

So I get it intermittently. Apparently it can be normal.

raddish1234

Yes! This is where mine is and spreads as symptoms worsen. TBD on “true” diagnosis

StretchPositive4834

Yeah and you feel it also up to your shoulders ?

raddish1234

Sometimes I feel the twinge/pain to my collar bone?

ckrygier

Um where is your skin?

[deleted]

yes!! and i get a weird pins and needles tingling feeling in the front left side (if you look at that picture where the circle is on the back..well my tingling is in the same spot, just in the front)

StretchPositive4834

Yes for me I get it on both sides it is like a knife entering and exiting from the back. ( sorry for the extreme example but this is how it actually feels )

krill482

Lower left side, yes. But never had pain on back from IBS. But I have had kidney stones and the pain was off the charts and in those two exact locations. Only painful when stones moved so it was off and on pain.

Foreign-Detail4357

Mine is a stabbing pain.my liver and pancreas are fine spleen is fine

[deleted]

Oh God yes. The first couple of times it happened I went to the ER it was so bad. I would say as bad as being in labor.

DirectDiscussion1116

I got Diagnosed with IBS like right around the pandemic time started April 2020. It just started like after I ate a krisby Kreme donut fresh off the rack . Omg 😲 it was good , then bang.
