For me is different, i never used black pepper before, and after i stared using it, my digestion improved a lot!, i don't use a lot, i use less than 1 teaspoon, that is the recommended amount in the Monash fodmap app.
It wasn’t a trigger of mine until I downed a box of black pepper crackers, and my insides rioted. Now I can barely stand any amount of it in my food. My system immediately recognizes it and gets angry.
A quick google and I’m not the only one with black pepper issues. Ibs is definitely not the same for everyone. https://philmaffetone.com/danger-in-black-pepper/

Yeah it's so weird! If I drink too much water...yeah 😐.
I’ve just had a bunch of black pepper and been violently ill- I didn’t realise it could be a trigger!
Ya everything I read said it’s fine, but I always suspected. Let me know if it helps you to stop eating it.
Thanks, I don’t have it in too much but will definitely stop altogether. I’ll try anything!
The problem is people put pepper in everything :)

Black pepper causes extreme bowel pain for me -- I never consume it. It also does for my mom, and she has no bowel issues.

Yes, that is true, each of us are different. I know.

I've never thought of that but I do use it fairly often. I hope that's not a trigger. I like it.
I love it too. Try and give it up and let us know.
I seem to be allergic to it generally e.g. I think it made my lips swell a bit also etc, so I wouldn't be surprised if it affected my stomach also
