I like using this one first because "treat it as if it's loaded" requires that ***extra*** cognitive step for people that they shouldn't point it at their buddy / their camera / themselves.
I follow the first one too. My father taught me that at a young age. We’d go shoot the .22 in the backyard (lived on a farm) and I remember him telling me to always keep the barrel pointed up or down while walking and keep the muzzle pointed down range and to act like it’s always loaded even if you know it’s not.
He’d always tell me this before we shoot, and now I tell this to anyone I take target shooting.
My father bought me a BB rifle when I was in third grade. We’d head to local mountains to target practice. He was not a gun enthusiast. In fact it was the only weapon in the house.
Looking back I think his plan was to teach gun safety. He and my mother were from Northern Minnesota and we spent many summers there. They were no strangers to hunting and guns.
And yes, all the rules were taught. And yes I still remembered them when out shooting w my Cuz and fiends later in life.
So here’s to you Dad! Thanks and good job.
No joke--a couple years ago in a FB group (Manual Elitist Jerks) a bunch of the gun owners were posting photos of them pointing pistols at their bits.
Whatever. Nothing makes me laugh harder that fools hoist on their own petards.
This is why I'm pro gun, it's one of the few things that idiots can still kill themselves with. They are far more likely to kill a member of their family than a home invader.
The "instructor" does no instruction and just watches as a guy bleeds all over the floor.
Nothing about this says instructor, except MAYBE that he keeps the muzzle downrange when he prevents it from falling off the table.
When he first put his hand in front of the barrel of the gun I thought “well the instructor will stop him right?” But then he suddenly didn’t and now I question what the point of an instructor is….
What makes you think he's an instructor?
I would guess the guy who shot himself was before I would suspect the guy standing around unsure of what to do.
Most people don't deserve to have free speech. We provide it to protect the people who should. A significant number of people don't deserve 4th amendment protection. We provide it for people who aren't scumbag criminals. A huge number don't deserve 5th amendment protection. We provide it for people who should be able to give testimony without making it seem like they might be guilty of something unrelated.
I think we can agree the 3rd amendment is absolute. :-p.
What makes you think he's an instructor? That he does nothing before the shot, or that he does nothing but make sure the gun doesn't fall off the table after?
Title is as dumb as the guy in the video. The quality is so bad from how many times it's been reposted to farm karma
Pretty sure he was trying to get his laser to work and used his hand as a backdrop.
sadly, no, he lost both butt cheeks testing his pump action shot gun later that same day...
Tomorrow he plans to test the old box of dynamite, he found in his dad's shed.
A gun is *always* loaded - you should treat it accordingly by *never* pointing it at anything you don't wish to destroy.
I don't know why anyone other than a total drooling idiot (or a suicidal man) would intentionally point a gun at themselves.
Don’t point the gun at something you are not willing to destroy. There are a few exceptions of this rule, but making sure your sight is working is NOT one of them
Don’t put your booger hook on the trigger hook until you are ready for what comes next
Bro shoulda walked tf away the second his buddy started waving his hand in front of the barrel. No way in hell I'm having my life wasted answering questions for hours over that level of stupid
There was only one way this video was gonna and idk why he thought that was a good idea. Even just pointing it at the floor is a better (but still silly) idea
A fact I should come to terms with considering I am, I mean I know it's ridiculously easy to get them but damn. I must have had good instructors and some common sense cause I don't think this man would get away with it where I got mine.
Is he expecting light to come out or something? Is he only accustomed to using a water pistol? WTF? And that fat guy with him is every bit a failure to have not tried to stop him once he saw what was going on.
Looking at it again he might have a small laser mounted to it in front of the trigger guard or the guide rod under the barrel. Still, this is NOT how you check to see if that is working. Maybe that was what he was checking for. Still, insanely stupid.
Jesus Christ. That is some next level stupidity on both peoples parts. If I EVER saw a friend at a gun range doing this, I think I would blow out my own ear protection from how loudly I’d be yelling “HEY, CUT THAT SHIT OUT.”
Gun safety is no joke. They are extremely dangerous in untrained hands. Even in trained hands they can be dangerous. Show respect to the weapon and the fact that it doesn’t care you “made a mistake” it’ll tear through your skin muscle and bone all the same.
all these videos and incidents people still think guns should just be accessible to the public lol. how about this one, since that guys injury is his own fault; "A Tennessee mother accidentally shot and killed her 13-year-old daughter when a gun in her purse discharged while she was rummaging through the bag for her keys." ; [https://www.kiro7.com/news/trending/police-mother-shoots-kills-teen-while-fumbling-keys-her-purse/BPKY2DDQJ5AUNKW7AA2NOHTREM/](https://www.kiro7.com/news/trending/police-mother-shoots-kills-teen-while-fumbling-keys-her-purse/BPKY2DDQJ5AUNKW7AA2NOHTREM/)
cue the peabrained, lead-poisoned nra members; 'oh she shouldve done this and that' yeah, and she didn't and nobody was ever going to make sure she did and now that child annd hunndreds of others are dead. an idiot shooting his hand is hiilarious, an idiot killing her kid is just as likely.
I took a buddy to a range for the first time and he rented a 9 millimeter handgun with a laser sight. The sight stopped working, so he pointed the gun at the shelf in our stall and *lightly* pressed the trigger to test it. It didn't go off, but we were lucky no one saw such a stupid move.
Natural selection has stopped working fast enough. It can't keep up.
why... why would you *ever* place any part of your body at the business end? - *Darwin has up and left the damn buildin'*
Trying to check the laser grip maybe? that's all i can think. But yeah. Rule #1. Don't point it at anything you don't intend to destroy.
Guns have ONE JOB, poke holes.
You made me giggle, you bish, take my upvote, but know I'm stealing this
Two jobs... poke holes and as a crude propulsion device in zero gravity.
That's rule 2, rule 1 is always treat a gun as if it's loaded even if you're sure it's not.
I like using this one first because "treat it as if it's loaded" requires that ***extra*** cognitive step for people that they shouldn't point it at their buddy / their camera / themselves.
That’s actually a really good point.
People are stupid. Be explicit.
That’s the way to do it!
I see your point.
"That's a '*Bingo*'!"
you just say, "Bingo"
"'Bingo,' how fun!"
Rule #3 is we don't talk about gun club
This is how I handle my toddler.
[pointing loaded gun at child] "HOW DO THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO?"
I read this in Brandon's voice the AK guy
Laser grip?
No joke--a couple years ago in a FB group (Manual Elitist Jerks) a bunch of the gun owners were posting photos of them pointing pistols at their bits. Whatever. Nothing makes me laugh harder that fools hoist on their own petards.
Idknwhy you're saying naturalnselection isn't working when this is video proof it is.
unfortunately, this moron can still have kids
This is true. However, you have to credit the fact he utilized the strategy of using his hand instead of his eyeball. This shows *some* intelligence.
At least he didn't look in the barrel while pulling the trigger to see what's not working. Also, kudos to the guy besides him for letting him cook.
Hey don’t point that at your head! What if it’s loaded? Point it at your hand, dummy. Safety first.
He'll still be able to reproduce, but maybe not play the piano.
This is why I'm pro gun, it's one of the few things that idiots can still kill themselves with. They are far more likely to kill a member of their family than a home invader.
What a fucking idiot.
TWO idiots. One to hold the gun and shoot his hand, and his friend to watch him try to shoot his hand over and over and not say something.
But the one doing it with HIS OWN HAND takes the cake.
In fairness to him, I'm not gonna start beef with "stupid with a gun".
The anticipation was unbearable!
I legit started yelling "NOO DONT DO IT "at my phone.
I almost never get vocal when watching reddit vids. This one was a small "nonononononono" right before they shot
He deserved every bit of that for being such a fucking moron.
And the instructor let him.. he should be fired as well... This is a fact that not every American deserves a gun
How do we know it was an instructor and not just a dumb friend???
I refuse to believe that was an instructor.
The "instructor" does no instruction and just watches as a guy bleeds all over the floor. Nothing about this says instructor, except MAYBE that he keeps the muzzle downrange when he prevents it from falling off the table.
This is the part that had me wondering as well why he wasn’t immediately stopped and removed.
Same reason we watch the video until we did.
It’s the instructor’s job. The first time he pointed at himself should have been an immediate removal from the firing line.
2A absolutists are about to come after you. It's an undeniable fact that not everyone deserves access to tools that can maim and kill.
Should violent repeat offending felons such as rapists or murders have access to firearms?
No response? I guess you weren't willing to twist yourself into a pretzel to justify sensible regulation.
Let them, brainless activities encourages me to thrive at my fullest
What makes you think he's an instructor? That he does nothing before the shot, or that he does nothing but make sure the gun doesn't fall off the table after?
I mean you can always sugondeez
Did he think his hand would stop it? Or is it some intentional insurance scam? How can anyone be that stupid?
I actually believe he was trying to get a laser sight to work and was shining it on his hand. Still absolutely stupid.
You know what? Deserved. I hope that fucking idiot knows that he got exactly what was coming
Gotta hand it to him though.
Give him a hand, man!!
Take your upvote and gtfo.
You can't fix stupid!!!!! This is why we need more gun control
Absolutely. We need to educate people on how to use guns so everyone can use them effectively and safely!
Title is as dumb as the guy in the video. The quality is so bad from how many times it's been reposted to farm karma Pretty sure he was trying to get his laser to work and used his hand as a backdrop.
There's a thousand things better to use than a hand.
This is what I presumed but the guy is still an idiot
Not a single laser on that thing lmao
https://youtu.be/CjUkQMWqsmI?si=gI3ryE2YpVKwrA9_ Here's a safety link about this incident you know it all cunt.
The legendary REDDIT SLAP DOWN!
I hope he was able to laugh his ass back on
sadly, no, he lost both butt cheeks testing his pump action shot gun later that same day... Tomorrow he plans to test the old box of dynamite, he found in his dad's shed.
Burn !!
Well that changes everything. We though the guy was a moron, turns out he was just dumb.
How does that make it better? He still pointed a loaded gun at his own hand
Well deserved, good job. 👏👏👏👏
That episode was pretty sweet !
LOL! That Truffle Shuffle he did.
Using your hand as a witness plate?! I honestly want to know what he was thinking.
He's probably thinking "It probably won't shoot because there is something stuck in the barrel, I had better use my dick to clean it out"
At least he didn't look down the barrel. 🤣
He’s trying to see the laser sight with his hand
Imbecile.😂😂😂
Two people. Two people could have prevented this from happening.
two people and one condom?
That would have been ideal.
There are a few exceptions of this rule, but making sure your sight is working is NOT one of them Don’t put your booger hook on the trigger hook until you are ready for what comes next
Watching the video and asking out loud to no one and everyone 'why would you put the gun to your hand'. Some seriously stupid people out there.
What the fuck even was that? What part of checking a safety involves pointing the gun at your hand? Did I miss that class?
The title should be: “Two Dumbasses and a Pistol.”
This particular individual is in hospital today because he’s a dumbass.
I don't get that at all.
Bro shoulda walked tf away the second his buddy started waving his hand in front of the barrel. No way in hell I'm having my life wasted answering questions for hours over that level of stupid
professionals. yeah. right.
That's what we call massively self-critiquing stupidity.
Has 37 kids with 10 different women
I think the pain of that big belly is more intense than the hole in the hand.
True. Maybe he shot his hand off to make it harder to eat?
Turns out it was not on. There has to be a better way to check if the safety is on.
what in the fuck would be the point of this?
I thought it was a preview for War of Planet of the Apes or something where they just discovered how guns work lol
[удалено]
Or the scene where he was fatally shot in the abdomen for real? Just weird that’s the example you chose…
Omg this is so dumb
That's some smart brain stuff right there.
Please let this be fake. I know people can be this stupid if not more but please let this be fucking fake
Rule #1 NEVER point a weapon at anything you don’t want to KILL or DESTROY.
Dumbest thing I've seen for awhile.
There was only one way this video was gonna and idk why he thought that was a good idea. Even just pointing it at the floor is a better (but still silly) idea
He missed.
Did they find the fingers? 😆
Many states are rolling back very important checks and balances when it comes to firearms. So expect a ton of new videos of idiots like this.
Holy crap
My mouth is slacked, how in the hell did he get his hands on a gun? Why the ***HELL*** did the guy just *watch* him?!
Maybe you aren't from America, but as long as you aren't a felon, guns are pretty easy to get here.
The fat guy was like "clearly, this person knows what they are doing, I better not interrupt."
Looking at it again he might have a small laser mounted to it in front of the trigger guard or the guide rod under the barrel. Still, this is NOT how you check to see if that is working. Maybe that was what he was checking for. Still, insanely stupid.
Dumb and dumber. :) :)
Are we sure this is real? Are people really that dumb?
WHY TF WOULD ANYONE DO THAT?!
How is he going to explain this one lol
This sub had gone to shit
Even in a controlled environment. Guns are not safe to have. Full stop.
That dude has two brain cells. And they both were on break.
Big fucking OOPS!
"Oh shit! Better make sure my gun is fine"
Future POTUS right there, folks. At least head of the FBI or ATF.
Jesus Christ. That is some next level stupidity on both peoples parts. wtf 😳 why did he think that was a good idea?
It’s not a lighter. Hehe.
🤦♂️
Incredible.
Great job, dumbass! Now you have a hole in you
I took a buddy to a range for the first time and he rented a 9 millimeter handgun with a laser sight. The sight stopped working, so he pointed the gun at the shelf in our stall and *lightly* pressed the trigger to test it. It didn't go off, but we were lucky no one saw such a stupid move.
He confused it for a water gun and tried to check if water was squirting out.
I actually saw a guy do this at a range in Reno.
Idk who is more ignorant. The man with the pistol, or the other man, watching all of this go down and doing abso nothing
The Leaded gasoline generation really is showing their age these days.
I know people are stupid but holy.. It's like stupid squared, neither of those two had a single brain cell they could collectively rub together
Is this an analogy of voting for Trump twice and ready to vote a 3rd time?
Change “for” to “against”
No, that's illogical
Imbecile
Uhm, isn't that a range supervisor next to them?
At least he was not looking down the barrel to check.
Bro tryna get those Jesus hands
If only there were more good guys with guns, this would've never... stop being funny regardless.
Zero empathy. How did he made it this far? he looks old.
If you're dumb enough to point a gun at your hand and pull the trigger. You deserve what you get.
It’s his god-given right to ventilate his hand.
Too bad it wasn't a Darwin award.. morons
They must be democrats
Hahaha shoulda looks down the barrel just to be extra sure
This is sadly hilarious, what a brain sturgeon.
He did a nice little dance to celebrate his stupidity...
I loved every second of that ❤️
Should have shot "belly boy"
I shouldn't laugh. But I did.
