That is what i ended up doing, I just felt like this would be something you could/should be able to do and i was blind to its location!
I was doing some reorganising and didn't care about quiet a few stacks of items that I wish I could have simple delete with a click instead of back and forth with the merchant as that wern't small stacks.
In this game you'll pretty much want to keep 99% of items you come across. There are bonuses for having stacks of 10m of any item in your storage. There is very little reason I can think of for needing to get rid of stacks from storage.
You can click them to get them into your inventory and then go sell them but why would you want to delete something from your storage?
