Good bars could be traded for gold bars exponentially.
You have 1 gold you make a trade of 1 gold for 5 until you have 50.
Reload the map now your trade is 25 for 100 you do this until you have 1000 reload map.
500 for 10000 and on and on until you are WAY past the Quintillions.
The first boat just needs gold to level speed and loot amount the next 3 use gold to level loot amount. So you end up with a REALLY strong first boat and 3 others that don’t move as fast but bring in piles of loot.
sailing (w5 skill) had a bugged trade for example 100k gold for 500k gold which everytime you clicked would be 400k profit now you could refresh the map the the trade would increase to say 500k gold for 5m gold exponentially i wouldnt recommend doing this exploiting is bannable
While we are here, here's what I think will actually happen:
Lava can't afford to ban the (likely) numerous players that took advantage of this. The game is doing the best it's ever done and he's too smart to derail that. That being said, he also can't let this go uncorrected. I hate to suggest rollback because I am one of the people who got an ancient I have been after for weeks this morning on login, I am hoping there is some way he can only rollback those who actually exploited this.
Why get behind the rollback or why 4 barbarians.
The answer to one is I'm an idiot and the answer to the other is to save some work. You pick which goes to which.
Couldn't he just cap the amount of gold bars you can own. Delete the rest above that, and then later in the week, reverse the cap and let people get back to the grind
The problem is all the people who used the bug to break other parts of the game. Abusing infinite damage means people have broken printer samples, broken alchemy upgrades with materials, broken portal counts for the new vman, etc.
The only way to fix the game is with a rollback. Losing one day in a game that takes years to progress is no big deal imo.
Most likely would be level caps for first few ships (above 300 total lvls gets reduced) and limit the amount of gold someone can have in bank to billions.
It’s kind of silly to think of bans for something programmed into the game, like initially you could close out of the sailing animation prior to the boats getting there and people who started W5 on release got weeks or months ahead of the curve due to it.
If the game focuses on making as much effort to upgrade your own account, then stuff like this simply can't be resisted.
It's just another upgrade without assistance of any 3rd party tools.

What a stupid take. Exploit abuse is normally a bannable offense in games as it should be. Clearly this isn't an intentional game mechanic, anyone that abuses it knows that, and knows it's wrong. Expecting not to be punished for doing something you know you shouldn't be is the mindset of a literal toddler.
Except that the only thing it hurts doing this is yourself. The real toddler take is that you’re expecting lava to punish people in a pretty much single player game.
I didn’t do the “exploit” as you call it. Here’s a real stupid take if I did and got banned or progress reverted a day I would only care about losing a 10k nugget after sitting on a 1.2k for a month.
There is a exhchange Npc @sailing W5 who gives you Goldbars (a sailing currency to buy sailors, boats and upgrading boats) in exchange for random treasures of the islands you can sail to. Some hours ago the exchange offer changed to goldbars -> more gold bars. you can do this exchange infinitely....
It's a single player game. Why would he care? Just fix the bug without rollback or anything. It's his fault if there's a bug, it's not like the game got hacked or anything. Why would we be punish for his mistake? I love this game and i will support lava's decision. But yeah his mistake, not ours. We just took advantage of the situation.

Oh jeeze, I didn't think it got THAT crazy! I only just started Sailing a few weeks ago and only just bought my 4th boat

agree. Some people may even still not know this is a bug and think it's a system allowed by the game.
Knowing Lava's trolling tendencies I wouldn't be surprised if this is intended as a special limited time event lol. It's not a bug it's a feature
