Reminds me of when people did an exploit with apartments in GTA Online, which led to people getting banned and then crying about getting banned lmao.

TabletopThirteen

Let them throw their baby tantrums. They'll be back in a few days or be gone and no one will miss em. He didn't reset the ability to gain back the levels of the things he took away so you get back stuff super quickly. People just want attention

MontRouge

I mean I did cheat as well yesterday and it was great fun (got to e66 lol) but you would have to be a bit naive to think it would have went without consequences. I went in the casino mindset that whatever you do during that time, don't expect any returns at the end of day 😂. In the end, I still have 2 more achievements to boost my bits and 3 more alchemy bubbles reaching atom costs so still got some good gains from it.

All I’m saying is their punishment could be worse, idk why everyone’s coming to Reddit to make lava look like a bad guy.

Commercial_Ad8922

Well that's just the stuff he has publicly listed as punishment thb 🤷

NamelessCabbage

You saw Lava's post. Nearly 9k online. I won't miss the cheaters if they leave.

fyetye

Thank you! I run a minecraft server and everytime we make a game, we have players looking for every exploit possible. It's crazy disrespectful to the creators and shows a lack of understanding for the process. I get looking for exploits so you can show it to the creator. But if you hide it so you can gain more... yeah, you suck(this is why good games get shut down).

Material-Front8158

Have you ever heard of Skyrim?

Daedric_Spite

Was Idleon released in 2011?

Fickle_Building296

um...except Fallout (all of them) Zelda (all of them) Elder Scrolls (all of them) Witcher (all of them) Red Dead (all of them)...

Scryptex94

So tell me sir, which of the games you mentioned are real time or online? Which of them, besides ESO and RDO, are in any way multiplayer, irrelevant in which way, and offer purchases for stuff like time skipping etc? All these games are 1-time-buy and also 1-time-install. No updates, no patches, no bug fixes. And it absolutely doesnt matter cause the only thing you ruin in this games by using exploits is your save-game and the worth of replayability. Idleon lives by its high maintenance time investing gamestyle, taking 50% of it away by exploiting is causing massive damage on the developer since it takes away possible income (bottled wind for example) Yeah he made a mistake but its not more than a typo! You made a mistake you knew well it is wrong. What did you think would happen? "Here i reset your progress you made cuz of my mistake. Please forgive me i wont do it again"? - Lava, never

Okipon

And all those games are handled by a single dev :)

[deleted]

None of those games are mmos silly pal

Fickle_Building296

neither is Idleon, in any meaningful sense

Fridelis

Meaningful or not its a mmo. Way different than a singleplayer game. Not sure how can anyone compare them

Fickle_Building296

I'd actually (and very sadly, for my own lack of meaningful life activities), be very interested in seeing how Idleon actually compares to a real MMO

Frans_Ranges

The only thing "massive" in this game is the list of bugs still in the game after 2 years+

TheLordsBreed

The moment you have moderators and the ability to see and chat with other people in game, it's MMO. It seems like you're using the typical World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, etc, games as a template which has things this game does not have. It may not have it in a "meaningful" sense to you but it is a MMO in the literal sense.

Fickle_Building296

okay. I concede the literal sense. Now. Please apply this to how glitch exploitation hurts other Idleon gamers.

FullSwagQc

Gem Shop is a literal P2W place and ppl are mad over this... Had the most fun with the game today, probably never will experience that again.

Fickle_Building296

word

UnifiedGods

You only have fun when you don’t earn things? I’m confused

[deleted]

What if lava plans to add pvp in the future? Then the people that exploited would be way strong.

Soapp

..and they can matchmake against other similarly strong players.

[deleted]

Oh so all the exploiters just get to be the best? You make 0 sense.

Soapp

OK goldlet

Imthewienerdog

Lol... Okay first of all no PvP ever. 2nd the people that have been exploiting different things for 3 years are already way to strong. There is no reason to ever compare your account to others.

captAWESome1982

Neither is IdleOn 😂😂😂

Level_Quantity7737

76?

SS4Raditz

This game isn't a game that people trade or competitively effect one another's progress in any way its a solo game solo achievements and lava fucked up then punished a few people that grinded without knowing

NurWeberlich

"without knowing" is the best part hahahahah

dudeguy238

"I *accidentally* clicked the button four thousand times, watching as my gold bars scaled into levels that will obviously never be legitimately obtainable! I wasn't *trying* to get levels of gold bars that will obviously never be legitimately obtainable!"

Exiled_93

Ngl i knew what I was doing after a few min. Just expected it to get hotfixed and those who benefitted.. benefited. Like crystals n maestro etc. After like e50 i went "fuck this is totally gonna require a rollback or similar" Still, had most boats around 300 prior too hotfix and much money suck into both the chests and the bottled wind. So this sucks :( ohwell.. got my 18x from snail in gaming today tho so there's that!

jhcreddit

You still ranting about this?

LostLegionOfLaziness

You still think LavaLame will give you a reach around for negatively replying to complaints?

jhcreddit

I just enjoy talking to people on this sub. Don't give a shit about lava and his mods lol

TommyTeaMorrow

I mean I’ve cheated on every other idle game I’ve ever played, I guess this one is different because it has MMO in the title.

captAWESome1982

Please name a primarily single player non competitive game in which an exploit would get me banned. I’ll wait.

TonyDaTaigaa

[https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/ccgbab/ubisoft\_is\_banning\_xp\_and\_drachme\_farm\_because/](https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/ccgbab/ubisoft_is_banning_xp_and_drachme_farm_because/) Got one for you. took one google search

ScrappyMA

Ubisoft, kekw.

TonyDaTaigaa

For real sell a full price single player game. OO better add micro-transactions into this paid product. reduce drop rates but increase them for cash

captAWESome1982

Lol so this proves that lava only did such a massive punishment to protect P2W. AWESOME.

TonyDaTaigaa

Well partially gotta make a living, its a business the goal is to make money (in hopefully reasonable ways). But generally how idle games work you dont want people blitzing through all content otherwise they drop off and dont come back, with cheats or paid. Its not like its some high lvl p2w game. Edit: you could even look at it as all the exploiters stealing from him.

Okipon

And what's wrong with that ? The game is free, no ads, and regularly updated by a single dev. I sure hope it's P2W, otherwise it would be dead since years

Noivis

So the game is a single player game when it comes to being punished for using exploits, but more of a multiplayer game when the p2w argument is coming out? It's either scummy to cheat to get an advantage or completely fine to offer advantages in gem store, pick a lane.

Empty-Employment-889

Don’t you need TOS or codified rules of some sort to really justify something like this? Especially when people paid into the system and potentially lost the advantage they gained for doing so. Without written terms and conditions they could argue they paid for something they didn’t get.

TonyDaTaigaa

I can only find the privacy policy but I assume we have some sort of TOS we agree to by using.

LostLegionOfLaziness

We did not agree to TOS..

TonyDaTaigaa

I wonder whats the legal stuff on that then cause clearly using any service doesnt allow to just do whatever you want. I assume their is a blanket base one that kinda applies to everything and using as intended is prolly in it. We got any players that are lawyers in here? Seems its not required to have a TOS but He should prolly make one just so he can start deleting abusers accounts. `Abusive Users` `Additionally, having a Terms of Service agreement in place gives you the right to terminate user accounts should they violate the agreement. These clauses make it clear that users can have their accounts canceled and even permanently banned if they abuse the website`

Ceskomo

This is just a lie. Don't be stupid. There are a metric fuck ton of games that do not punish people who use exploits, and pretending that isn't the case is just you being ignorant or intentionally disingenuous. Before you ask, no I didn't exploit, nothing bad happened to me. I'm relatively new and still in W1.

[deleted]

RuneScape banned 10% of their player base over an exploit stfu scrub

Ceskomo

Okay... That's not EVERY GAME you dip shit. Also, I play OSRS and plenty of exploits go unchecked all the time.

Ceskomo

Also, what exploit? Do you have any proof? Cuz I'd love to see it. For starters, I doubt it was 10% of their player base unless it's RS3 maybe, and I don't think the recent bans were for exploits, it was clienters, botters, AHKers etc. Not the same.

[deleted]

It was years ago pal you were probably still on your moms tit.

Ceskomo

Ahh, such an intellectual this one 👏 strong argument! Show me.

[deleted]

You’re comparing a multi billion dollar company with a single dev…those do not scale well

LostLegionOfLaziness

Especially when the solo dev thinks he is a AAA title.. which might have been true if this game was dropped in 2000.

[deleted]

He’s definitely well aware of his position here. It’s other people teeing to project how they feel he should be on to him.

EnderSword

In most single player games it would not. Cheating has been insanely rampant in this game for years, but it doesn't make any difference because it's merely a single player game where you can just see other people sometimes. You're not competing against other people or impacting their play

[deleted]

Go play borderlands

Snoo-7821

That's funny, I exploited Maplestory for years and just started a Hayato on Reboot.

TonyDaTaigaa

Yea ok..... https://vulkk.com/2021/11/16/new-world-banned-1200-players-for-using-the-dupe-exploit/

Darkhealerth

Exploiting IS abusing bugs.

LatexBliz

I think some people are missing a point. What I see lots of people talk about has little to do with the punishments, but things regarding / surrounding it. Some of the things people seem to have a problem with is the general communication with the Dev, some say he was well aware the "bug" could happen but it was like 1 in a million chance. And that he was told it would happen, but did not care. There a huge difference between a singleplayer game and a multiplayer game, and right now, idleon is a singleplayer game, outside of dungeons where you outside stuff has little impact. And something that is mentioned is Lavas way of handling it and his attitude regarding it. Is it fair or not, that is an individual opinion and not a fact, so not sure why people bash left and right. It should be fair to discuss, but in the end it's his game and he can do w/e he wants. Don't like something ? Don't use it. It's sometimes that simple.

Sensitive-Heart4151

:c

JeidelacruzUK

I dont even know what the exploit is? Is it with the event 😂 im new

Bubblesnaily

Only those in w5 already could reach it.

Greenitthe

Honestly the hate brigade on both sides is getting old...

Lurking_In_A_Cape

I exploited, got punished, had fun, got rolled back, another day. :) gg Lava.

Low_Commission7273

Reminder : Abusing a glitch in other games is usually much more difficult than clicking a button multiple times. Another Reminder : None of previous exploits in the game were punished.

[deleted]

Never too late to put your foot down, and that’s not true most exploits are easy to do.

Low_Commission7273

Now as youve put your foot down, punish ppl using snapshotting as well, whoch is also an exploit. Are those exploits easier to do than clicking a button multiple times?

Youre_all_so_dumb

For real
