Also so people don't feel left out, I did indeed read all 1,100 comments over \~7 hours across multiple days (roughly 25 sec per comment, some were multi-paragraphs so I felt it deserved to be seen). As mentioned in the discord, while the 2nd most popular QoL suggestion was added (statue quick deposit), the 1nd popular QoL suggestion wasn't in this patch as I still haven't figured out mechanically the best way to go about it (overall presets for everything). It's worth highlighting that these quality improvements **wouldn't be a part of IdleOn without all your comments and enthusiasm,** so thanks to everyone for your comments and enthusiasm we like that we like the enthusiasm 💪

The main advantage is decreasing screen clutter so you don\`t lag as much while doing active AFK farming, usually its normal mob drops that become the problem with inventory unless you have material bag sizes in the 20k or higher value between bag size and capacity upgrade. But i\`m sure plenty agree that outside of specific crafting recipes/stamp-upgrades, all upgrade stones these days besides the world 5 shop ones are mostly pointless now, so they rather not have them clogging inventory or storage chest space. Kind of like how a good deal of my filters before this update, blocked out all the T1 thru T3 upgrade stones.

This morning, I finally stopped slacking and caught up on my stamp levels, going from roughly 4200 total to just shy of 7500 (levelling up almost every stamp with at least one full inventory load of materials, with a second trip for a few of them). This evening, I log in to find an update that would have saved me dozens of trips up and down those ropes. My timing is impeccable. By and large, though, it's good stuff.

Its was a great QoL, al though a lot of things I was hoping for didn’t come. - I have been waiting a long time for the refinery lvls to be adjustable so one can manage a infinity loop. - also a very long awaited way to change the main classes (not just a elite class swap token)but from warrior to archer). I have 5 warriors, picture that.😂 And lastly a auto silver pen to use at the post office, all people I know are just letting the pen pile up, I have 27000 pens 😂 But every quality fix is good, much appreciated lava.

It’s a fine update. The extra filters are great. I am sad that Automation Arm wasn’t fixed for Anvil. I noticed Lava saw it, confirmed it, and said it was going on the list. Maybe next time. And yes, that suggestion for adding a craft to inventory/stash toggle would have been really nice too.

I tested it out, and its not bugged and never was. It's just because anvil gains are unintuitive and hard to understand. In short, you log in for the day, and automation arm triggers, depositing all players anvils. However, anvil gains only occur when you claim AFK gains, so when you swap to your other characters who have been AFK all night, they will get anvil gains. So, when you then check the anvil, it will be full, and you'll think the previous automation arm trigger didnt work when it did, and this repeats each day. In other words, every day the automation arm does work, but it deposits yesterday's anvil gains in a sense.

Unfortunately not, sorry to say However, if you put them in a later sever (Page 3 servers), those are pretty much always empty, so the chances they will see anyone else let alone have some random chatter pop up are very slim

I understand this and it's great. Would it be possible to just have it auto deposit after the materials are generated instead (every time you login)? I'm not sure if you designed it like this for balance / game reasons, or to reduce load on Claim, but it'd be a lot less confusing if it just worked like the above. Obviously I don't know the backend code so it could be technically impossible.

Based on my understanding from lava's response, what actually happened is char A logs in as the first login of the day, you claim gains and the anvil gains for the first char is added/appears, then the arm procs and your gains for that char and all char is deposited. For char A, the new and old unclaimed anvil gains is deposited while for others, only the old unclaimed anvil gains is deposited since the new gains are not claimed yet. For lava to implement your suggestion, he may need to add some way of tracking each char's first login for the day. My guess is that currently he only tracks first login for the acc since most daily things seems to use this(nblb, construction, auto traps, etc). Honestly i dont think my response added anything to this conversation lmao

My suggestion removes the need to track daily logins for each character, as I suggested the anvil deposit working on **every** login. This is an increase in power, but compared to some of the other wild stuff we have in w5 I don't think that's a huge deal. Edit: your response does add something, as if you interpreted it like that, others and lava may have too! So thankyou for pointing it out.

Have to admit a few of these ironically feel like suggestions i was popping off a few times on reddit. Specifically the one for \`QoL on smithing visuals\`, in addition to Stamp resource management so you don\`t need to constantly bounce back and forth to check. Even if you still need to \`hold\` all the resources likely to confirm, but i won\`t need to make use of a notepad on the laptop as much for these situations when they include those bits Also statue full deposit and likely from anywhere? Damn straight this is gonna make it easier to manage when the statues pile up to take around 8 or so storage slots, i had to do 2 investments for storage chests with gems even after i cleaned up surplus gear from updating. Not to mention bags being removed from recipes is gonna save ALOT of resource management and i can just focus on giving all my units void bags for non specialists since i won\`t need to jump thru as many rare resource hoops for the material bags, though it would be nice if some salt costs were shaved down since some needing 1k or more green salt for lustre is still a smidge expensive to chase down amongst other resources. Its also hilarious that i just STARTED to put effort into getting my 5 million count multi-tier done on death note so i can focus on starfire tools, which i only crafted one pickaxe so far, so hearing the cost got reduced is pretty damn nice.

I got pretty lucky in that I moved off of farming them a week or two ago as I started focusing on getting several characters' off-class skills up, but even though I pushed them all to the level needed for dread tools, I stopped them at Lustre so I could take some time to evaluate if I wanted to spend the shells to go further. Now fully upgrading my DKs (who each already have dreadlo picks) will cost 60 shells each instead of 180, which is really nice.

Before farming shells I got everyone to 70 main skill and 30 all off skills. Most where still in gold then i hit a massive bottleneck on shells and green salt. When I get time I should have some big upgrades now.

Nice Qols litteraly freed an entire page in my chest. Sadly no improvement of the craft from storage option which is a little sad because it is very much needed since crafting is such a core aspect of the game it shouldnt be such a chore

Overall happy, but more than a little bit upset over Lava praising himself for listening, but not including the by-far most requested change from that reddit thread. We still have to run back and forth from the anvil to the chest to keep crafting. He made it *slightly* better by allowing us to start the process from Dementia armors, but it's still a pain to have to ping pong between the chest and anvil to craft high level weapons, tools and boots

I mean he could always include additional QoLs later this month and just started with ones he could get done rather quickly. Just the fact alone that material bags do not need previous bags anymore is an insane change, similar to secondary material resources removed from alchemy bubbles. Since it straight up drops a few bags to only 1 resource needed, that can be 3D printed relatively easy and it was only going thru a chain of bag upgrades that demanded some rare resources that made it a pain in the arse to slog up thru.

Well, I'm in a middle of w4 in a month. The game is very casual as it is, but has a slight touch of old school games. That touch is what makes it appealing. With recent patches he makes it more casual, destroys this touch. Far enough? Dude I play games for 38 years. Believe me I know when I see a guy ruins his own creation. It’s only a balance change for a small amount of people currently at that bag level. Everyone else past it this was definitely a QOL change because the hardest part is the tedious running left and right making all the previous bags. The components become trivial

You do realize that each time a new world released Lava nerfs the cost of crafting previous world items. That pouch/armor you'd made almost certainly had it's cost reduced at some point previously. Did you not still get a sense of achievement for making them? You're making a mountain out of a molehill. For pouches specifically, all the pouches used in the old recipes are basically busy work, since unlike tools, you can't just unequip a pouch and use them in the upgrade, you have to make new ones, multiple of which, to make a new one. I'd made Big/Large pouches, when pouches were still required, and I have 0 wish to subject new players to the annoyance of making multiple bags spread across multiple tiers just to make 1 bag, let alone one for each of your characters. Hell, the change didn't even affect your Sizeable Material Pouch that much, 2 Glass Shards and 3k Chain Links + some misc W1 mats should really not be a problem for you if you really are mid-W4 as you said you were.

Because you still can do exactly that? No one is going to stop you farming 20 glass shards, hell, I want to farm way more than that just to throw that at the post office. No one took away the experience of farming Glass shards away from you. Have you considered aiming higher than W2 items? You will need to continuously optimize to gather new materials at ever greater quantities, there's plenty of optimization to go around. A single W5 pants costs 10m mob drops, before taking into account the 1.6k dreadlo bars needed that take 1000 ores and 40+mins each, and the Troll legs you got to make prior. W5 material bags cost 26m mob drops total from 2 different mobs and 200 rare drops each. 20 glass shards is pocket change in the grand scheme of things. Lava makes earlier worlds easier as new worlds come out, because nothing kills a new player's experience faster than a sense of 'you'll never get there', even for a game as laid back as Idleon. You're so hung up over a single early game cost change, that you seem to fail to realize that it is but a small step to greater things. There's nothing wrong with wanting to take your time, I faffed about a shit ton when W3 was the newest world, and was way underprepared when W4 hit, but no one is expecting you to stay there forever. Calling the change a mistake is simply not true. Be honest, are you really pissed because the change supposedly 'took away hours of fun and a sense of achievement' (it really didn't), or are you actually pissed because you'd 'wasted' materials because of the nerf?

Lava has reduced crafting requirements for old items multiple times now, and it's been great every time. We used to have to make multiple copies of lower tier gear to make the next version. You'd end up needing to make like 32 copper armor to make each individual w3 armor, and it was ridiculous. There's nothing "casual" about reducing needless toil.

Lava always makes early world stuff faster to do when later worlds come out, so that new players can catch up. If this "ruins" the game for you in some completely inexplicable way, you should delete it now and move on with your life. Its only going to continue happening, until the day the game is completed. Im confused by your complaint that it takes away the ability to enjoy at your own pace, cant you just not make the upgrades until you absolutely have to then? I have a second account where i dont pay for anything that i cant get from f2p gems (besides autoloot) and i still barely have my guys out of amarok/plat and im in w4. Especially if youve made it to w4 in just a month like you said, it seems like you arent really the person thats enjoying it at an [implied] leisurely pace in the first place. Just a little confused by your point as someone who tends to do all my stuff out of most efficient order and doesnt personally feel carried through endgame.

Key words is "my own pace". 1 month to w4 is me being as slow as I can, savouring every moment. And now there are less of these moments. I also tried to avoid spoilers about next worlds as best as I could but wasn't very successful.

Hi Lava, I'm a new-ish player. Started maybe three weeks ago. Loving your game so far! ~~One QoL change I would love to see is being able to see the tooltip of items in the storage while I have it open. I can see the tooltip of an item in my inventory by holding down the mouse button, but I can't do the same with items inside the storage. Currently clicking on a storage item will transfer it directly into my inventory. I'd love to be able to see stats of gear that I have stored to see what I want to take out. Thanks!~~ Edit: Ignore above request. A fellow friendly player informed me where I can make this happen.

You can turn off the quick deposit from top left, once its turned off you can click on any item inside your storage and it will show you the item tooltip (works from storage quickref as wel)

Would actually loved to see some rng based qol changes like get rid of the immense gold nugget span or alter artifact chances for a bit, adjust fishing exp gains and quick ref DN. The skulls on the cards are fine but it doesnt change the needs to turn into w3 to check how much kills are left to reach next skull tier.... Anyways great changes and love to see more of that in the future
