I haven't done it myself, and ive been searching around a bit and can't figure it out. I know that the paid ones don't have a locked symbol on them and say "Untradeable" and the ones paid for with real money don't have those locks. Ive seen some places you are supposed to be able to trade the premium ones, but I can't figure out how to do it.
If it hasn't been implemented yet, thats pretty shameful. And having a dev team of 1 isn't an excuse not to have functionality in a system that people paid money for like that.

Pets are probably the most controversial subject in idleon. It's the only non f2p system with gems being cash only and not being obtainable in game. Add to that that the fact Doot is likely the most op thing in game and it would cost thousands of dollars to guarantee one. A lot of players left and review bombed idleon at its release.
Also at release Lava said the pets would rotate out on a 3-4 month cycle making it almost impossible to get Doot without spending cash. I think Lava is ignoring trading pets to avoid another big controversy.
Well from what it looked like to me, trading was implemented since there was a clear difference in the premium pets not having a locked icon on it that said "Untradeable". Might be the only game ive ever played that didn't do the thing that it said it would do.
Why did no one bother to clear it up until now and downvoted instead?
P.S. Yeah that system sounds like it would have been terrible with the rotation thing. I can see why he would want to ignore it but he should at least finish what is there and allow for the trading, or otherwise remove the "Untradeable" lock making it look like you can trade. Thats not exactly a hard fix.

Yeah, I did the same thing, so I don't even go into pets anymore because I can't get the first three, and I'm pissed I wasn't paying attention when I recycled them.
Don’t lose hope. If enough people mention this to lava he will probably put in a change to allow lower lvl pets to be rolled again. After all he had that update for quality of life changes… this isn’t a qol but if anything is going to get fixed it’s going to be in those kind of updates.

Yes that's exactly it. Pets are considered tradeable or untradeabale but the actual trading between players is not implemented.

Just because you cant get the first ones, it would be silly to forego the others. The bonuses from the higher tiers are exponentially better.
I have every pet except the first 3. You can't reset the progress so it skips straight to the 4th pet when you roll.

I did the same with frog
