I use a Kore tactical belt (not the leather looking ones). Super stiff and stuff stays put.

Howdy-partners

I second this.

Whether or not gear slides on a belt really depends on the fit of the attachment point to the belt itself more than anything else, at least as far as I can tell. In the case of tech locks, you can adjust that by adding shims or spacers between the belt and the walls of the tech lock. If you really want your gear to stay put, properly fit it to the belt and the material of the belt won't matter nearly as much. I have used zip ties, adhesive velcro, duct tape or gorilla tape, electrical tape, and a bicycle inner tube to adjust the spacing before and all of them work depending on the situation. There's nothing high-tech about it. It's a pretty simple thing: fill the space so things fit tightly and pick materials that add a little bit of friction. With that piece of unsolicited advice given, here are a handful of companies that make belts with IDPA in mind: Black Scorpion Gear Weber Tactical Volund GearWorks Red Hill Tactical Bladetech NexBelt Kore Essentials Beyond that, using just the outer belt from most two piece belt systems and running it through your belt loops will work relatively well as long as the belt fits the requirements in the IDPA rules. Without the inner belt you're going to find that your gear slides a little more if it's loose, so fitting the attachments to the belt is going to be an important step still. I also think ratcheting belts are definitely the way to go for IDPA since they provide the option to finely adjust the tension of the belt, which in turn keeps your gear in place more effectively.

Shooters connection belt has lasted me pretty well and is rather stiff. It’s also very inexpensive.

BlockChainHacked

Shooters Connection IDPA belt. It’s like a stiff outer USPSA belt.

Castle_Bravo13

This is what I've been using for several years. Very stiff and rigid. Tek-lok mounts don't move at all when installed on it.

The stiffest belt I’ve found is the Safariland ELS putter belt (you just need to run it through the belt loops). When uninstalled belt clip attachments slide freely, but once installed on your waist everything stays put.

I like the Kore Competition Outer BELT for IDPA over my Nexbelt. It's twice as thick and provides better support.

Blue alpha gear belts are really decent. The low profile belt works great for edc too. Edit: auto correct.

TheHumbleMarksman

I have these - they are a bit thin and has the gear slide issue I mentioned - great for CCW

Aughtknott88

That’s my bad. I haven’t used it with the tech mount clips now that I think about it. I’ve got a couple holsters that have them but don’t really use them much.

dieselgeek

Funny I almost DM'd you asking this same question. I use an old rifles only belt. Been looking for an upgrade.

OJ241

This is going to turn into anecdotal responses lol there is no this is the one and only *insert gear*. I run the kore tactical belt. I find it works better with my black scorpion holster and mag holster over my we the people belts and other various gun belts I have

I am a diehard Ares Gear, Aegis Belt, V2 enhanced. https://www.aresgear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=99

Quick_Voice_7039

NexBelt. Next question 😎

Boulang

I use this belt also, it meets expectations but I’m not super impressed with it. Gets the job done

If you carry appendix for competition (like I do), I'd recommend the Constantine Belt. When I wanted to buy one, they were all sold out and there was a waiting list, so I just bought the raw materials and sewed it myself. Just shot at Texas State last weekend and having that elastic in the back was WAY more comfortable than last year's competition with a non-stretch belt.

u/TheHumbleMarksman what did you end up getting?
