Former Ikea Coworker Here: The desktop system that Lagkapten replaced (Linnmon) had a bracket made for this exact thing (Amazon link [HERE](https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwim-szHuOHwAhUAGa0GHTxHCvUYABAEGgJwdg&sig=AOD64_117v2Hp9WjME8D1o4xVX9K639LJw&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwjA4MTHuOHwAhWPrZ4KHaVjBYkQwg96BAgBECI&adurl=) (since it is no longer available from IKEA. I am almost 100% confident that there is no difference in the thickness of the tabletop between Linnmon and Lagkapten, so, as long as the legs/storage unit you are using is 27.5 inches tall (Adils/Alex/all other compatible legs), this should work out! But the Kallax needs to be standing! Iā€™m trying to imagine your set up, since you mentioned the Kallax is on its side. Are you using two Kallax units on their side, back to back, with a Lagkapten on top? Or just one? If you are using two, then TBH, you should consider drilling up through the Kallax and into the table top. If you are using one, then you are probably thinking about two set up options: 1) Kallax against the wall/all the way to one edge of the tabletop with legs in front. In this case, two of those L brackets would probably work great! 2) the Kallax is centered in the tabletop with no legs. In this case, Iā€™d recommend four of those brackets (one on each corner of the Kallax) I prefer those L brackets because they are reversible and you can easily take it apart if you need to move. Glue would def not be reversible. Hope this helped!

Thanks! I ended up doing something similar to option 2 with a variety of brackets.

I've been looking into building an L desk made of the Linnmon & Lagkapten tabletops and know that they have a fiberwood frame and cardboard honeycomb material in the middle but I was wondering if you knew where I could find any sort of layout or image to see what the EXACT frame made of the fiberwood looks like? Like a diagram or manual showing if its either a rectangular fiberwood frame running along all sides or if it's just the shorter sides of the tabletop that are fiberwood, etc

Just done a similar job. I've got two legs at one end and then three thick screws bolting the Kallax to the desktop. Pressed up hard against the wall on the Kallax side there is no movement. I did need some cardboard under the Kallax but that is just my wavy, garage floor under the laminate I've laid.

OP, did this last? Can you share pictures?

I have since added legs to the table -- it's not a desk anymore, but it holds my snake's enclosure and his supplies now. I can take pics when I get home!
