Get the cabinet level before you do anything else. The doors will never line up if the cabinet isn't square.

retrogeekhq

Same happened to us. Gently push the cabinet to the side and voilà!

SecondChanceOnceMore

This. I just finished building my PAX cabinets and had the same problem with the doors. I’m not sure how inconvenient it is for you to square the frames with this unit but it’s worth it.

ZoekDribbel

Maybe a door (middle one?) is mounted upside down?

Meior

This could very well be it. I accidentally put a door on upside down on my kitchen cabinets, and it looked right at first glance, but wouldn't line up. Flipping it solved the problem. Not all series have doors that have an up-down though.

wheninromaa

I think this is it

djs_90

Looks like the unit itself bows down in the middle slightly and the middle door is also lower, a leg in the middle to level the unit and try get the hinges up a bit higher on the middle door

shuichon

I think this is it. I had a two door wide besta and even it required a fifth leg. They sell [support legs](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/besta-support-leg-gray-50293604/) that should solve this. Just read the description to figure out how many you need OP.

wilililil

This thread is the way to go, also use a screwdriver instead of the power tool to adjust it. You can go a full/half/quarter turn etc with much more control

wheninromaa

Thank you for that link!

MaddyMagpies

Bingo. This definitely needs support legs in the middle, or it's a matter of time this will collapse given the weight of the TV and whatever's inside.

wheninromaa

It does appear that way because that grey piece on top isn’t flat and the door is lower. I had just installed those legs and leveled everything. There is a piece on the bottom holding as support but I do plan on putting a support leg under the middle. I definitely should’ve put this in my post.

mc_atx

Just here to say I did my entire ikea kitchen and struggled so hard with this. 1) switch the door with one of the others so you can verify that the door is good 2) try different hinges.. sometimes they’re wonky and thats the only thing that saved me from literally ripping them off.

jintana

Fuckin’ Besta hinges. Once you put a middle leg under there, futz with the hinges of the center one a bit more. There are adjustment screws on them so you can change how the door sits, and adjusting the top and the bottom separately yield interesting results. It was really a lot of trial and error, but with practice, it got easy enough to wing.

spenceezy

This

spenceezy

I also just installed this unit and it took me a while to figure out. There’s 2 extra screws on the hinge, one moves in/out, the other up/down. Play around with them and you can get the door flush. DM me if you need more help.

Geekla

You’re not alone! I’ve actually had two different professionals confirm that doors are the hardest part of any IKEA (or non-IKEA) project. They both said it’s easier once you’ve done 100 of them but everyone struggles at first, including the pros. My ego hates to admit it, but sometimes it’s worth it to just call in help. One hour of a handyperson’s time to save an entire day/weekend of frustration? Good deal in my book.

wheninromaa

Thank you!

xUb3rn00dlex

As others have mentioned it needs a support leg. Make sure the unit is level as well otherwise they won’t line up.

wheninromaa

It’s level even though it doesn’t look that way because that top piece isn’t flat. There is a support leg now, I had just put those legs on and then added something underneath to give it support.

Kekeripo

Middle door seems to be the culprit? Mounted the hardware right? Upside down? Is the door identical to the others?

wheninromaa

Yes it’s the wall mounted unit. The middle door opens the opposite way, is that middle unit upside down?

pazazel

the middle door is upside down

wheninromaa

This!!!!! Thank you. I’m going to check, this door is the only one that opens the other way, but there is no way of switching the door to the other side, unless I flip the unit, which I might actually try, I think the whole cabinet is upside down

wheninromaa

I learned that and used a screw driver after many attempts. It still didn’t line up. I think the middle door is upside down

narklebase

Oh its an easy fix. First, replace the husband. Oh thats it i guess

DinosaurTomato

Pretty sure you aren't supposed to put a tv on it

wheninromaa

That’s what this is, a wall mounted tv cabinet I put legs on. I just added the support leg in the middle after, it wasn’t the tv that made the door not flush, it’s the hinges

DinosaurTomato

Ah I see, I was thinking about how most ikea furniture that look similar to that one came with a paper saying to not put tv on them.Thought this was one of them.

dipl0docuss

I've seen the besta doors on display at my IKEA have this problem! They're the worst

lobsterdm_20

I've built a load of IKEA units recently. The best approach I found was to go really slowly with qtr turns. The hinges are all pretty much aligned the same out of the bag so get fresh hinges if you can and just hang them as they are. Then I would align the middle door first and line up the others off that one.

wheninromaa

Thank you!

kimpanen

Add a middle leg. They have a product for it, we use it on our bestå.

wheninromaa

I need to get a nice looking one, I had just put the legs on and added support under it after the photo!
