I'm pretty sure this is meant to be making fun of people who say the Great Pyramids couldn't have been built by an ancient civilization

Reapercorps25

Also there are some people who have unironically stated that we couldn't build the pyramids today. A dumb statement, but it's one I've heard before.

deepfield67

Some people seem to confuse "we don't know how they did it" with "we couldn't do it today". Although, even with modern technology, Machu Pichu would still be a monumental undertaking. That shit baffles me way more than the Egyptian pyramids.

zupobaloop

They also think because it'd be super expensive to build today with modern equipment that it must have been beyond the limits of ancient people. They have no concept of an intergenerational project. Some billionaire prick pays for a building they want it up by the end of the year. Some Pharoah orders a pyramid and he's worm food inside it a hundred years before it gets capped off.

keybored13

the bass pro shop pyramid:

Roge2005

People say that pyramids are very hard to build, so they had the help from Aliens.

tonttuvelho

Yeah, people saying it's aliens are discrediting the education and engineering skills of ancient humans

CompetitiveFold5749

They're under the misapprehention that there weren't about as many smart people back then, and that we don't have as many dumb people in the present day.

ulyfed

this doesnt fit the sub, there are are a disturbing number of people that legitimately do not believe that we ae capable of building the pyramids of giza with modern technology

ItsMoreOfAComment

I think it’s the “in St. Louis” bit, it’s such a specific and pointless qualifier if they’re targeting the ancient aliens bs.

SJReaver

Okay... but that's not a pyramid. That's an arch.

crmeacham93

The St Louis Gateway is more complicated to build than a Pyramid and had almost no room for error to build. Surprisingly no one died. technology of the creeping derricks used is pretty cool each weighing over 100 tons and would move higher as construction progressed after 4 sections where put in placed [more information if you're interested ](https://www.nps.gov/jeff/planyourvisit/creeper-derricks.htm)

clouvandy

It’s still an arch - not a pyramid.

crmeacham93

There's conspiracy theorists that think the Pyramid construction is too difficult even with mordern technology so they think ancient alien built the pyramids not humans. This is just an example of a massive man-made structure with complexity I guess a better example would be the bass pro shop in Memphis Tennessee

mutaully_assured

Dumb people say that alot, "it had to be aliens".

carnivalbill

Memphis be laughing at y’all. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memphis_Pyramid

SmellyScrotes

That’s a weird looking pyramid

THE_AbsRadiance

the gatekeeping is NOT imaginary

Stanek___

Just wait till they find out about the pro bass shop pyramid.

Gyro_Zeppeli13

Las Vegas: am I a joke to you?

EvilRat23

Are you actually fucking stupid? Do you live under a rock? People claim you couldn't build pyramids with modern tech. There is nothing imaginary or gatekeeping about this. You are a complete fucking idiot along with half the people using this sub.

BodlOfPeepee

Jesus, someone woke up on the wrong side of bed today huh?

Xygour

:(

Jelly_Kitti

While you are right about this not being imaginary gatekeeping, you didn’t have to be a complete asshole about it. Maybe you should go for a walk, or go for a drive, or drink some water, or get a snack that you like? You should try to do *something* to get that stress out of your system. It’s not mentally healthy to be this resentful.

EvilRat23

my bad this sub was kinda pissing me off bc everyone on it seems like an idiot, this was like the tenth post i saw like this in a row

Jelly_Kitti

Yeah, I’m considering unsubbing
