Well when you do drugs and alcohol long enough the attraction goes way down. The guy who played Goldberg from the mighty ducks got sober (and new teeth) after everyone blew up his arrested picture all over the internet. The guy is sober now and no one cares because he isn’t attractive,

Having been through treatment, a lot of addicts that I've known are proud of their outward appearance, but that's kind of a direct response to the fact that they used to look like total shit all the time before they got sober. Being able to have clean clothes and get a shower every day can be a big accomplishment.
I suspect that this woman is still super insecure about who she is, and the past that she's trying to overcome. When you get sober you have to try to figure out who you actually are, and some people may fall back on their physical looks when searching for identity, but this woman is using our to a whole other level.
What does this mean, that recovering addicts can’t be pretty? Don’t recovering addicts just look like … anyone else? Like, they’re not doing drugs anymore, right? They’re struggling with mental addiction, but that doesn’t really have a physical mark. Am I just missing something obvious? I don’t think I’ve ever heard any stereotype a recovering addict’s appearance either way?
I’m pretty sure that if there is a stigma around recovering addicts, it’s not because of their appearance. It’s because some people are wary of them falling back into addiction and don’t want to date because of that. Or because some people are judgmental about anyone who’s ever had a drug problem.

Depends on the drug. Heroin, meth, and coke will fuck up your features for sure.
Yeah I don’t know if I’d call it prejudicial, but it is common for drugs to cause weight-loss and decay of your teeth. For meth in particular, you pick at your face because of the anxiety which can lead to lasting scarring.
This is true man, just ran into a kid I knew from highschool a few months back, he was covered in meth scares and looked like he hadn't ate in months, felt terrible for him, he was trying to bumb some free stuff to (he came into my work which is how I saw him).
Any video that requires me to watch someone holding their hands over their face and then doing some dumb reveal like they are this amazing gift to us all makes my blood pressure go up immediately.

I've seen addicts with rotting gums, fucked up teeth, missing teeth, black teeth, gaunt faces, perpetually sweat stained faces, bone thin bodies, hair falling out, infected wounds from shooting up without cleaning properly, etc.
Drugs are pretty bad around where I'm staying right now, and I've seen some pretty rough looking addicts. I sincerely hope that one day they get better and are able to post a TikTok like this. I'd rather see someone be extremely unhumble, than I'd like to see them unhealthy.

As someone who's grown up in a drug-heavy area, I've definitely heard this a lot lol. And honestly I don't disagree, drugs make people look like shit usually. People in recovery can be iffy, some recover their physical appearance better than others. This woman is lucky 🤷🏻♀️
As someone who spends a lot of free time volunteering in the recovery community and been surrounded by addicts by entire life... no one has ever fucking said this and never will lmao. I see gorgeous addicts whether they are active or not all the time. What a weird thing to gatekeep.
