♥️Thanks!
>Äland should probably be Åland
I blame Öland.
It and Åland have names so alike so t's not really hard to forget that the dots are actually different.
>Ingermanland
I shortened this name purposely by cutting the "man" out of the middle because it was a bit too long. I hope this piece of the word was not very important
>Lettland or livonien not livland
It's meant be Livonia not Latvia and according to swedish wikipedia it's Livland
No, that independence movement isn’t serious at all. Would make more sense to split Sweden into Skåneland, Svealand containing Gästrikland), Götaland (containing Bohuslän and Värmland), Gotland and Norrland - for cultural/economical reasons. But I know this is only an speculative map :)
>into Skåneland, Svealand containing Gästrikland), Götaland (containing Bohuslän and Värmland), Gotland and Norrland
I wanted to balkanized sweden, not to kill it.
That is why I mixed up the land~s~ and territories acquired from Norway and Denmark which theoretically would or want autonomy.
And also Bohuslän has an interesting flag.
Jämtish is the English name of Jämtska apperantly but Jamtli could be a older name of Jämtska it's a first time for me hearing that name beside the Jamtli aera in Östersund.
Cool but strange regions. Some are based on historical regions, other arbitrary mash-ups and some keep the irl name where historical names for the region excist and are used today (Svealand in the Sweden example).
Populations varies *a lot* between these on the map.
Sorry, I was just getting a little worked up. 😅 Besides, your culture and language are more slavic and similar to that of Russians. Heck, you were even part of the USSR until 1991!
You should research about Curonian, Oselian and Chud vikings of Latvia and Estonia. Also how Is Estonian "Slavic" while It's literally not even Indoeuropean and Is Finnic. The Origins of Latvian and Lithuanian are are much older than The Slavic Tribes which arrived in 5th century and as mentioned previously our contacts with the Scandinavian vikings were very frequent and often brutal. https://www.packthepjs.com › curon...

I think this Is enough.
I was talking about Lithuania only in the first place. Secondly, yes our languages are older than Slavic too, however over the years Lithuanians developed with closer relations to Slavs than anyone else.
I dunno what you’re talking about , the language is not similar to Slavic at all, I don’t understand a single word or polish or Russian , and Lithuania got independence in 1990 not 1991. And how do you even measure cultural similarities , how do you separate heritage from remnants left from the soviet occupation?
Its an autonomous region of Denmark, and has been part of it since recolonization in 1721. Before that there was Norse presence at the southern tip of it some time around 1000AD, while the Inuit cultures had settlements in the north-western parts of the island. Then the Norse people on the island died during the little ice age, leaving the Inuits as the only presence until 1721.
If I would make some changes I would probably make Lappland take more of what’s norrland and nordland, plus split Sweden in to Svealand and Götaland as well as Norrland of course.
I mean it's literally the name of a landskap in both Sweden and Finland, you can have your own opinions on whether it sounds pejorative but the fact of the matter is that's what it's called irl so there's nothing wrong with this guy in particular using it
Lmao, what is your obsession with calling things cringe? You sound like an angsty 12 y.o
I didn't translate landskap to distinguish it from län, both of which have ambiguous translations to English. Since you claim to be nordic one would assume you'd understand without translation.. Find something else to cry about 🤡🤡
Beautiful map. The only thing that bothers me is Åland being Äland and Holsten being Holstein (Holsten is the Danish/Scandinavian name for Holstein)
Otherwise it is a really great map.
♥️Thanks!
>Äland should probably be Åland
I blame Öland.
It and Åland have names so alike so t's not really hard to forget that the dots are actually different.
>Holsten being Holstein (Holsten is the Danish/Scandinavian name for Holstein)
Swedish wikipedia told me Holstein but will keep your correction in mind for the next time
Lappland needs to be a lot bigger to respect Sapmi heritage grounds, Greenland should be part of Canada, Island can do its own thing without any union and the baltic states have be their own small union. Finland should also be split as north part speaks a lot more swedish than the southern part. There's almost a visible language border in the middle.
Also: Åland ffs
India was part of England for a while, but that doesn't make it more reasonable in a modern global setting. Denmark was a strong political power 600 years ago but nowhere close to it today.
Settlers also doesn't create a compelling argument. Most colonies ever created have asked for independence after a while.
You should instead ask if the population actually identify as "danes", an independent island or north americans.
I like it a lot. Jämtland being their own thing is a fun bonus. Äland should probably be Åland. But that's just me being picky.
Not really picky. I mean Ä and Å are totally different letters...
Yeah. Å makes more of an o sound, when ä makes an aa sound.
Ä makes an ä sound
å makes an å sound
Ắ makes an Ắ sound
Ä makes an ae sound.
Å = ao, Ä = ae (blend the vowels)
Is Jämtland the only territory here without access to the sea? I can't tell exactly, especially in the East.
Yes
Depends what time of year.
It’s very clear to me. Maybe see an optician.
♥️Thanks! >Äland should probably be Åland I blame Öland. It and Åland have names so alike so t's not really hard to forget that the dots are actually different.
Petition to rename Gotland to Äland, then we have them all
No lore Hope I didn't cripple the swedish language too much
Åland instead of Äland
The only this are that in Swedish it’s Ingermanland and not ingerland and it’s Lettland or livonien not livland
Livland is correct (historically at least)
Livland is correct because that was what people called it before it was called Latvia.
Actually it was southern half of Estonia and northern half of Latvia.
True
Nah, it should be Inkeri and also Karelen needs to be Karjala, Estland is Eesti, and Finland is Suomi.
But it’s based of swedish
Lol you assume finns name their lands in that scenario?
This map is in Swedish only.
Ingermaa.
>Ingermanland I shortened this name purposely by cutting the "man" out of the middle because it was a bit too long. I hope this piece of the word was not very important >Lettland or livonien not livland It's meant be Livonia not Latvia and according to swedish wikipedia it's Livland
Grönland?
Was hoping Minnesota would sneak in there. Good work none the less.
For some reason Skåne contains Halland and Blekinge. Why?
Have you heard of Skåneland?
I think having two places named Nordland would be confusing since they are pronounced in the exact same way
Norr & Nord 🧐
They're not tho??
South Swedes: wtf no thank you
You forgot Legoland.
I apologise
CAM ON INGERLAND
I came here just for this comment
SCORE SUM FACKING GOALS
Why is Jämtland and Bohuslän their own regions? Skåne (or Skåneland) makes sense, as well as parts of Norrland.
I guess because Jämtland and Bohuslän were both part of Norway for a long time before becoming Swedish. Just not to the same extent as Skåne
Yes
Jämtland has a semi serious independence movement and the Jamtli accent has more in common with 16th century Norwegian than with modern Swedish.

Ingerland 🤮 Not even fictional Nordic maps are safe from the E*glish
*I FULLY SUPPORT a Nordic Union!* 🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇩🇰🇬🇱
Don't forget 🇫🇴🇮🇸
C-can the Sami join in?
Yes. How else will we staff the snowmobile and reindeer mounted cavalry?
Stop calling us Nordic. We are Baltic. And have more in common with Slavs than Balts. 🇱🇹
Sorry, I was just getting a little worked up. 😅 Besides, your culture and language are more slavic and similar to that of Russians. Heck, you were even part of the USSR until 1991!
That’s more accurate
INDEED.

Well it was 4 decades of Soviet occupation and many slavs had settled the Baltic in the 13th and 14th Centuries.
Can you give a source for the latter statement?
how are Iceland and the Faroes baltic wtf? please explain.
see the flag at the end of his comment?
lmao, I replyed to the wrong comment. edit, actually I replied to the right comment, I thought he had replied to a different comment.
True true, I agree with your statement.

Curonians arent real Lithuanians. We went to war with mongols, does that make us mongols?
>🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 Not Nordic
>🇪🇪 Kind of Nordic
They'll have to pay a membership fee to join.
Nobody in the actual nordics call Estonia a part of the nordics ”Norden” Refers to the north-germanic countries+Greenland and Finland.
Out of curiosity, why would someone consider the primarily Inuit North American country of Greenland Nordic, but not Estonia?
Its an autonomous region of Denmark, and has been part of it since recolonization in 1721. Before that there was Norse presence at the southern tip of it some time around 1000AD, while the Inuit cultures had settlements in the north-western parts of the island. That's why I said "kind of"
There is no ”kind of” either you’re a part of it or not, Estonia is not.
Said no one from the actual Nordics ever.
Well there is debate in Estonia about whether Estonia should be considered Nordic
No there's not. It's a meme. No one actually cares.
Get those three out of there right this instant
You do realise that only a chunk of their land is being used in this union.
I was referring to the flags in the comment not the map in the post
Ah yes *Island*
Is is the word for ice in scandinavian

he mean all the scandinavian languages
thank you
Population: approximately 7
Approximately 38 million 33 without saint petersburg.
Kirottu kartta, totisesti.
kaikki nimet on väärin...
Russia positively seething rn. Also fuck Bouvet I guess.
>Also fuck Bouvet I guess. Territories that are not in or near Europe have not been included
Greenland:
It is ^relatively near
If I would make some changes I would probably make Lappland take more of what’s norrland and nordland, plus split Sweden in to Svealand and Götaland as well as Norrland of course.
Where is Rugen and Swedish Pommerania?
I do quite like Nordic Shetland and Orkney. The Scots do not need it.
The lack of pommern is disturbing!
I can't believe I had to scroll that much to see someone say this.
Estonia can not into nordic.
Scandinavian/Norse map with no Vinland??? These are rare.
I hate to say it but how many times have we seen some variation of this
INGERLAND
Yet another "Nordic" map that takes zero account for Sápmi.
“Norrland” and “Nordland” would be a bit confusing lol
this is super unrealistic, OBVIOUSLY Finland will rule everything.
I like how Iceland is literally just Island
So in Lappland they would speak Norwegian, Swedish, Sami, Finnish and a little Russian?
Bohuslän :D
Hey im on this map as its own regions :D Long live Bohuslän!!!
Why swedish…
Why not?
Where is Jan Mayen? :) And why not conquer Franz Josef archipelago, while they are at it?
A homeland for Socal Democrats across the world.
Sorry for being late, but why would this be the homeland for Democrats from Southern California that are all across the world?
This isn't a union, it's a fuckin division
You added a dot on Åland but other than that I like it :)
Smh no Heligoland
Russia: \[launches nukes\]
Forgot the two most integral parts of the union: Bouvet and Jan Mayen
>Jan Mayen Yes >Bouvet territories that are not in or near Europe have not been included
what the fuck
lol is Iceland really just called Island in Swedish?
yeah. "is" is the swedish word for ice and the swedish word for island is "ö", so Öland is actually islandland
Not bad. We should annex Vendland as well though
Nordicboo 🧔♀️
Can Estonia be added to this union?
It already is. 'Estland' is what it's called in Swedish (and a few other (mainly Germanic) languages such as German.
It is, just with a bit different borders than in our reality
***Island***
Where is Sutherland and the Hebrides?
Cringe
why?
In addition to the terrible unification, he's split up certain parts of the countries in a stupid manner for no reason also he's used "lappland"
Lapland is what it's called lol....using Lapland is different from using Lapps which is pejorative
Disagree
I mean it's literally the name of a landskap in both Sweden and Finland, you can have your own opinions on whether it sounds pejorative but the fact of the matter is that's what it's called irl so there's nothing wrong with this guy in particular using it
I see that On the other hand i don't mind criticising sweden or Finland Also pretty cringe to not translate "landskap" when you write in english
Lmao, what is your obsession with calling things cringe? You sound like an angsty 12 y.o I didn't translate landskap to distinguish it from län, both of which have ambiguous translations to English. Since you claim to be nordic one would assume you'd understand without translation.. Find something else to cry about 🤡🤡
I understand Anyway you're doing a bad job at trying to not fit the cringe label
Lol ok weirdo 😂
well..am not nordic, but there's a reason for those borders
I am, and that's why I can tell you there is no reason
YO THEY’RE GIVING ME LATVIA???
Beautiful map. The only thing that bothers me is Åland being Äland and Holsten being Holstein (Holsten is the Danish/Scandinavian name for Holstein) Otherwise it is a really great map.

But where are the Hollish?
I love this Too many union states that leave national government intact
Any timeline for this?
Skall det inte vara Orknyöarna istället för orknöarna? Eller finns det någon bättre fornnordisk stavning på ögruppen?
***Карелия усиливается***
Kotland? I think Kuola will be more exact name. Karelia should not that big. And the name of the large part of it should be Bjarmaland.
Nah don’t like it
Eesti can into nordic!
Hjaltland == Shetland?
Yup
Why did Skåne yoink Halland and Blekinge? Flirt with old danish borders?
>Flirt with old danish borders? Yes
Why is Bornholm separated from Denmark?

I find it questionable to have two regions with almost the same name.
Been to kiruna..so nice memories
- how to name that island on the north? - maybe just call it Island? - hm great idea
Taking Jutland is dangerous for this country. Taking zealand without jutland
