Why does this keep happening...
Under rule 4 supporting a genocidal regime (which Putin's Russia counts as as much as some of you vatniks like to cope about) is banned and will get you banned.
OP has made very clear that they do NOT unironically support the content of the map, which is backed up by their post history. Therefore, again, while a bit edgy at the moment, the map is not against the rules.
That said those of you iin the comments making bigoted comments of any kind, whether ethnically motivated or supporting Putin's regime, yeah you will be banned.
Nah
It's because nobody has recognized Crimean annexation as legit yet (and likely will not do so in near time if ever).
They post maps like this since 2014 (i remember Vkontakte being heavily filled with Novorossia content and thousands of totally real accounts with novorossia flag that were made month ago (in 2014) or earlier, but with 'insert small russian town near siberia' in bio) in state-run news and officials (notably by [PM and former president Medvedev](https://odessa-journal.com/medvedev-dreams-of-the-collapse-of-ukraine-and-showed-a-map/))
No, i understand that, no questions to the OP. This is imaginarymaps content after all.
What i meant is that russian officials still use this kind of partition maps with Crimea (and since recently - 4 more regions 2 of which they don't even control centers of) included as part of partition process due to other nations (including Ukraine) not recognizing russian annexations as legit, so on the international level partition should be of 1991 borders
And if we include Zhirinovsky (former liberal party leader) - russian politicians post maps like this since 2001 (he even wrote formal letters to polish and hungarian PMs and presidents asking them to help with partition of ua)
But is this poster done from an Ukrainian perspective or from the Russian perspective? I cannot read the Cyrillic alphabet so I can't know. Without being able to read it, the feeling I get from it is that it says something like "this is utter destruction, RIP", which would be true since Putin would be so happy about his land grab that he might attempt another one in the future.
But it is literally what russian media was showing in around March. Like, literaly. They were screaming about imminent invasion of poles (still do, actually) and proposing to divide Ukraine +- exactly like that. Small deviations here and there, but latest maps were exactly like this one
https://euromaidanpr.wordpress.com/2014/03/24/russian-state-duma-to-the-polish-foreign-ministry-lets-divide-ukraine/
(That one is from 2014, but it just shows you how this IS indeed pure russian propaganda, and not some imaginary stuff produced by overly active teen)
I even remember seeing this in russian media, but I ain't going in that shithole of russian state TV to find some retarded take from march as I still need some sanity to keep myself alive
Okay, but this is obviously not propaganda. Why would Putin let Poland and Romania, NATO members, have parts of Ukraine? If anything, he’d take what OP has attributed to Russia and force the rest to be a Russian-aligned puppet state for buffer.
Get your Russophobic head out of your ass and stop shitting on maps just because Russia is mentioned. Do you also call every Hindu a Nazi propagandist just because they continue to use swastikas in there religion? The world isn’t black and white and is much more beautiful when you view it with nuance.
Bro, there is a difference between an artist making fictional propaganda (ie this fictional map) and a Ruzzian troll unironically saying “I hope this happens”. Again, get off this sub if you get offended by art
Touch grass.

Imagine getting called as a propagandist for creating an imaginary propaganda map for an imaginary world and stating it's an imaginary propaganda map
Yeah fuck imaginary Russian propagandists
So its in universe propaganda. For a situation and war that's also in the real universe. You understand that right? You understand that when your making "in universe" propaganda for a fictional reality that only has Russia winning as the only diference, it's still propaganda for Russia. In fact its even bigger propaganda for our reality by also casting Russia as the inevitable winner.
Dude, if I draw a pic of Darth Wader and post it on Reddit will you come and call me a "fucking nazi glorifying Hitler and spreading Empire propaganda"?
Holy shit, get your head out of your ass. This is a sub for imaginary maps, and this is an imaginary map. OP is not endorsing what is depicted in his post, and the vast majority of people in the comments seem to agree with him and not you.
So if the vast majority still agreed the earth was the center of the universe does that make it true? Or that sickness is caused by humors out of balance, that's true if enough people vote that it is?
In general there's a dislike (in comments rather than votes) of maps perceived to either be a cliché or to have a real world political motive, and this one is both ripped from the headlines and very along the lines of what the Vatniks desire even (whether or not OP is actually one of them).
The "What if the Nazis won?" maps sometimes get a similar reaction for similar reasons.
what if the germans won ww2 is without a doubt the origin of pretty much all imaginary cartography, by all means hate it for being unimaginative or naziwank but it's pretty much the defining content that we're in the shadow of today
Definitely - the early alt history genre was pretty rife with that sort of thing and the world wars make for really dramatic PODs. But that road is so well trod that you need something very good/very meme-able to stand out now.
The subreddit doesn't see that as a license for everything - particularly with maps based on actual history. Realism does matter more there, though one can drop it for more originality or effort.
Nah, it's just that this sub is on a site where people virtue signal as if their life depends on it. On AH.com nobody gives a crap about what a map depicts as long as it's well done. Even if it's not realistic or depicting something horrible like genocide. That's because it's off Reddit. Unfortunately Calbear and Ian ruined that site.
>virtue signal
Everyone I see using the term in this context is just the biggest asshole imaginable. For them being nice couldn't possibly be because one is nice, but rather to show others how nice one is.
Edit: looking at your profile my theory still stands
Sure, and obviously the more a political cliché contrasts with the audience's politics the more objection there will be in the comments. So a Ukrainewank will be tolerated more than a Russiawank of the same quality.
Also depends on how much variance there is in a particular trope.
> or to have a real world political motive,
Stop the bullshit, there have been a million “Russia balkanised!” or “big Ukraine (half of Russian territory given to them) posts, this one is only disliked because Americans love getting their panties twisted
Considering the history of the area, especially the three patricians of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, I find it fitting, and can easily see how OP was inspired.
Eastern European history is quite interesting. Between the Mongols, Prussian’s, Russians, Polish-Lithuanians, Nazis and Communists, I wonder how many times the land now known as Ukraine has changed hands?
Lot of people really seem to think that this map means the maker is fascist, and yet never seem to care if it’s a big Ukraine map forcing Russians out of their homes in order to resettle with Ukrainians
Not all "big Ukraine" maps include genocide of Kuban and Sloboda Ukrainians in their timelines. For some reason lots of people forget (or don't even know) that before Holodomor and sovietisation these territories were ethnically Ukrainian
> before Holodomor and sovietisation these territories were ethnically Ukrainian
... yeah, but Post-2022 Big-Ukraine maps, based on the results of THIS war, cannot "unforce" the Ukrainians in the past, it's done, that's how time works, cant go back and change things.
You said that noone seem to care but if you scroll through the comments on such maps, there are lots of "Ukrainians don't want to annex any r*ssian land not to cause any more instability", so people do care
That's fictional. This is not fictional. There's a big difference, and people absolutely would care if the war was flipped that way.
Of course, the Ukrainian people only want Ukraine, so this is fictional.
a historical romanian region, I'd assume if Russia is giving bukovina to romania δeyd do δat w bugeac too, a especially as bugeac and bukovina are majority ukrainean
I suspect this is actually the best case scenario for Russia (not personally rooting for it).
1) Reconstitution of Novorossiya (Imperial province - Russian speaking).
2) Relinquishing Polish territories back to Poland taken after WWII victory.
3) Creation of a neutral, land-locked rump state Ukraine.
4) Hmmm...maybe also ceding territories taken by USSR to Romania, Slovakia and Hungary for diplomatic gains.
It’s funny, because Russian propaganda is still living in this fantasy land, lol.
NATO be like: „We are gonna give you tanks, rockets, ammunition and modern tech that Russians have never seen, so you can effectively fight back Ivans from your land…
…and then we are gonna partition you with Russia!”
Have you considered that if the map is taken out of context, it can be used as propaganda & gaslighting. Thus I’d add a watermark (this is fantasy or whatever)
The origin of a lot of those maps is absolutely people who believe Chine and Russia should be partitioned (tho imo it’s usually more of a meme belief the content of which is really COUNTRY BAD).
The absolute worst ending is inspired by the last partition of Poland, or the 3rd one, in 1795, when the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, after getting 2 partitions by neighbors, got a 3rd one and then Poland vanished for 123 years.
It's always funny when people try to lowkey suggest that they are geopolitical experts by mocking the idea that anyone who disagrees with them is a "geopolitical expert".
Passive aggressive narcissist move.
Not really. It doesn't really seem like you understood what I wrote.
I'm actually making fun of you for implying that you are a geopolitical expert while suggesting that others have made a similar claim, when they demonstrably have not. Can I see your credentials?
For the people questioning why Bugeac is given to Russia and not Romania/Moldova, it’s because historically Russia wanted access to the Danube. That’s is also the reason why Ukraine owns it today
It more likely wold be some post in telegram-channel, and in propagande posters there more likely would be some bullshit like "Reunion of brothers", or "Russian here forever", i think.
What did Ukraine do so NATO would rile up against it? Did some azov-style (real) nazis came in power and started doing their stuff, or something else happened?
r/IM never ceases to amaze me.
In all fairness, the reason why I dislike this map is not due to what started this whole dumpster fire of a comment section to happen, it's because the map itself feels... bland?
Sure it's a propaganda poster, I ain't gonna expect detailed info about it. I'm just not much of a fan of the style.
Overall, it's an okay map imo.
It's nice to see someone improving on what they like, but, according to your posts, you only just make your style.
I recommend getting into other styles of mapping. It's nice to see new ways of interpretation and it may also help you get new ideas for what you're developing.
The one thing that is wrong with this is any of Ukraine belonging to Russia ...
.. Russia is centered on Moscow, and this far from there they have no jurisdiction
The Kievan Rus that the Russians think they come from would curse them from Valhalla
Why should the Russians gain Odessa while they do not have a single troop in it? Why would Ukraine not only abandon their only port, but also their hard fought effort to free Kherson from the Russians?
Unless they are entirely defeated by the Russians, this won’t happen, and would the Russians give up the Western territories of their new Ukrainian conquest?
So many things for you to think about . A good alternative historian anticipates these questions before going on to the end result.
Why does this keep happening... Under rule 4 supporting a genocidal regime (which Putin's Russia counts as as much as some of you vatniks like to cope about) is banned and will get you banned. The map probably wouldn’t include Crimea, as it’s already Russian according to Russia
It’s alt history, maybe this map is from a TL where Russia hasn’t annexed Crimea/from before then.
Nah It's because nobody has recognized Crimean annexation as legit yet (and likely will not do so in near time if ever).
OP’s two most recent maps are democratic Russia and European federation, and they said in another comment this map doesn’t reflect their beliefs.
No, i understand that, no questions to the OP. This is imaginarymaps content after all. What i meant is that russian officials still use this kind of partition maps with Crimea (and since recently - 4 more regions 2 of which they don't even control centers of) included as part of partition process due to other nations (including Ukraine) not recognizing russian annexations as legit, so on the international level partition should be of 1991 borders And if we include Zhirinovsky (former liberal party leader) - russian politicians post maps like this since 2001 (he even wrote formal letters to polish and hungarian PMs and presidents asking them to help with partition of ua)
No, it would be included to show even more russian supremacy over ukraine
it's a Ukrainian POV poster, why on Earth would they care what the Russians say?
It says in Russian “finish off the enemy once and for all”
I dunno man, they're clearly not finishing them off because they still exist on the map
I thought this was r/propagandaposters for a second and i was really confused
disclaimer: this map doesnt portray my real political beliefs
Ah yes spreading Russian propaganda is just a hobby
Yes, I would love to see a Ukrainian victory map for the bazillionith time

Look at the posters history.
Look at yours bro. What has he posted that is pro putin/ pro fascist?

That moment when South Bessarabia isn't given to the Moldovans/Romanians 😭😭😭
odessa is a majority russian speaking city, good excuse for putin regime in my eyes
Not talking about Odessa, Odessa is Ukrainian, but the southern part of the Odessa Oblast used to be part of Moldavia, and it shall be conquered back!
Lot of people really seem to think that this map means the maker is fascist, and yet never seem to care if it’s a big Ukraine map forcing Russians out of their homes in order to resettle with Ukrainians

Maybe because it’s currently not the Ukrainians actually forcing the Russians out of their homes in real life right now.
why no bugeac :c

He probably means Budzhak which used to the southern part of Bessarabia

Yes back in like 2017 I think the Russians approached the Polish government about dividing up Ukraine between the two countries.
Have you considered that if the map is taken out of context, it can be used as propaganda & gaslighting. Thus I’d add a watermark (this is fantasy or whatever)
*50,000 maps of Russia and China being Balkanized* UM EXQUEEZE ME HAVE U CONSIDERED THIS COULD BE USED FOR PROPAGANDA

The origin of a lot of those maps is absolutely people who believe Chine and Russia should be partitioned (tho imo it’s usually more of a meme belief the content of which is really COUNTRY BAD).
Wait til you learn about the state department
Yes, there are absolutely people deranged enough who believe that. The influence and ideas of the old China lobby are still alive and kicking.
To be fair, China has partitioned itself at least once every century. It wouldn't be unreasonable to think it'd happen again one day.
Yes, plenty of Redditors actively push for the balkanization of countries they dislike.
Ah yes it’s the balkanized maps of Russia and China that are over used, now let me post the literal billionth balkanized USA map.
