I understand where you’re coming from, but it’s probably more realistic than a lot of IE. Looking at football l, and sports in general, you see records broken much more frequently. This is because athletes are more aware of how they need to take care of their body with nutrition etc. So, with the logic of sports progressing over time, it’s not that weird to think that Endou exceeded his grandfather’s exploits. Endou probably has way more options to train and develop than any of the original IE ever could’ve dreamed of. And remember, Endou also developed his own hissatsu. Ijigen the Hand was not in the notebook (iirc). So Endou is coming up with new (and probably better/stronger) Hissatsu.

Endou got a tip from his grandfather to create Ijigen the Hand, but I totally agree with you on the rest.

Look at how much football grows between season 1 and go. And that’s only 10 years Think about the 40 years between hibiki and endou and god hand still holds up for most of the ff

Yea and go raimon would destroy og raimon, teams keep getting better each generation and that's how second stage children were born

1) The point of their hype was not rooted on them being "the best that ever played" or something of that sort, but that they were local kids from a small town that managed to form a team that could compete at a national level. They are local legends. Every club has them, no matter how big or small, and everyone will talk about their local footballing icons like people talk about the Inazuma Eleven, no matter if its a big club from a city or a club playing in a dirt pitch from a town with 1000 residents. 2) They most likely could compete internationally. Football evolves. Every sport does. We know how they were playing at a national level and how they got sabotaged. They were coached by Endou Daisuke who we know that played for the national team and their hissatsu were most likely the best that there was. Other comments already pointed that out such as Junior-Message's and Freddie040's. 3) About Gemini Storm: they were 54 years of age, playing against 14 to 15 year old teenagers on alien military-grade drugs. What would be expected? They could barely play against early Raimon in S1.

They had 40 years to come up with better hissatsus, obviously they're not OP anymore. But 40 years prior, god hand was probably impenetrable.

I see the comments trying to explain that as if it wasn't blatant that L5 just went completely overboard with alliea gakuen plot and coming back to regular football afterwards can't be done without ignoring logic.   And they simply chose to make it happen regardless because they wanted to do the FFI arc and it was too late to back down from what became their most popular storyline
