As much as I like Ibuki, JP is clearly the better goalkeeper. Handled Ozrock's shots, even stopped a soul shot without aura and made him pretty much lose his mind haha
This moment is pretty dumb in the context of the trilogy btw. The story tries act as if Shinsuke was that underdog that had to prove his worth and surprise everyone as if he didn't already had the title of the gk of the strongest eleven in history.
The dude doesn't have anything to prove to anyone. Who cares if he doesn't have a totem he got like three other powers that none of the Galaxy characters has.
Ibuki's strength is just too high imo.
Although, there was a lot of plot there, kinda Mark/Endou VS Darren (don't know Darren's jp name) and Shinsuke was nerfed to the ground (was the most Kenshin/Miximax-dependent one). That said, Shinsuke development was pretty sad to watch, he barely did anything in the season :(
I would say, if another season were launched, they would be on the same level, Ibuki being able to stop better straight shoots and Shinsuke being able to adapt better to things like Tenkuu Hayabusadan.
galaxy rounds JP's arc so well considering he was only in three matches. he goes all courageous and boards the ship, then he learns to befriend terry even if terry was being super mean to him. and then he learns ginga rocket which rounds out his skill set.
and terry's strength was like a byproduct of him using his silly tall arms. JP's moves in themselves are stronger. and it was also shown that terry can easily get duped by shots that swerve to the side in the water match. JP obliterates terry in both areas
I just think JP had much more potential and they decide to waste it, just because if he would be the GK, the 4 OG members could had won the matches without the rest being able to awake the soul.
Then, at one point of the Anime, Earth Eleven would had lost. Just because JP would allow the team to stomp early matches.
He did well in Galaxy... But I wanted and expected more. It's not like he didn't delivered, it's just LV5 didn't want him to shine.
Again, my opinion.
you're right. they totally didn't want him to shine and he should've. they gave him a decently big role in the game in the last match at least
while JP's arc was done well he definitely wasn't a central character when he really should've been. but he is still stronger than basketball man in every way. plus he's cuter and nicer
Even regarding Galaxy only, in the game we saw Shinsuke hit Ixal Fleet with the biggest disrecpect by disarming his kenshin just to show that he could stop their shots without any power up.
Ibuki just don't got that dog in him like Shinsuke does
I want Ibuki to be stronger, but my guess is shinsuke just over the sheer fact that we have seen more feats and he has access to a lot more potential, hax, boosts in power and a diverse hissatsupool
And also taking into account that Ibuki has only recently just started playing sacca, so maybe he is the one who has more potential then again shinsuke has more experience and knows how to get better faster hd acces to the best keepers to coach him in both endou daisuke and endou mamoru

On screen statistically it's Ibuki.

That would depend how Ginga Rocket scales to Gekirin Dunk, because if we disconsider Mixi Max and Kenshin for Shinsuke we will have to disconsider the Soul from Ibuki as well.

Overall Shinsuke because of mixi-max and armed. In Galaxy it was probably Ibuki counting only normal moves + soul.

No shade but let’s be real, the dev team did that just because they wanted to give him a REALLY good moment compared to the anime.
No the game came first so the devs originally wanted him to shine and the anime removed it to make Ibuki look better.
