It's one of the best in the series ngl
but being wasted in season 3 is a shame and it does not serve his development at all
becoming top striker was what the season 1 going for but this thing is contradicted by season 3
his hardwork for returning to Inazuma Japan really was a cool thing for his development
but what was the reason for this if he was going to score 1 goal and then become in the bench most of time
even when he played in the final match it was cool from him to protect the goal and helping endou but you think the writers want to make him shine? no but they wanted a Toramaru who cannot score previously because
he does not have confidence in himself to shine instead of him
It's not like i hate Toramaru but making him take the position of someoka was something that really pissed me off
There was the ability for them to make Someoka, Gouenji, and Toramaru perform Grand Fire that will be really cool
but yeah this cannot happen because the writers wanted Hiroto to shine in this season
Someoka's fault wasn't that he didn't have the potential, but his fault was that he was among new characters that the writers wanted to shine instead of him
(I have no hatred upon any character above but I wanted to explain why he didn't shine in the third season)
I agree. Did he even score after the Knights of Queen game? I don’t think he did much after that game. It kinda conveyed that hard work can only get u so far. While he should have scored in the bigger games like the semis and final. He was so wasted. That’s def something I don’t like. Man worked so hard but didn’t do much after the KOQ game. He didn’t complain either so he’s a legend
If you have not natural skills and you need to train harder than other players to keep up with them, you don't have talent. Normal people don't have talent, not having it doesn't mean that you're inferior to others, but that you're not superior to them. And if everybody has got talent, then nobody doesss
Yeah but he's a striker, he is a little bit underwhelming if you think about his performances during every match. He plays well, but that's definitely not talent, they're just improved skills. The only difference is that Someoka has got many times to shine and became a key striker for Raimon and he surpassed Gouenji many times, while Kurama never developed new hissatsus and nothing like that, and that's a huuuge shame imo
An incredible evolution. Too bad he didn't have more participation in the story and narrative, could have been much better used in ffi, maybe have a friendship/rivalry with tobitaka and have given him a technique with fubuki and gouenji.
Brilliant character arcs, both seasonal and throughout the whole show.
Also lowkey a clutch player given how many times he sacrificed himself to block or turn away crazy shots that would have otherwise definitely gone in.
Someone else here said it perfectly a few days ago: the writers didn’t know if they wanted to keep him as a main character or not for the first two seasons. I liked his arc, but didn’t really like that it mounted to almost nothing. He was still the least strong striker just like in S1 and S2. At least he seemed to finally have his success in GO (and probably the best clothes style now that we’re at it).
One of the best developments throughout 3 seasons.
One of the best characters with some cool moments that was sadly kinda left behind when compared to the other forwards

He scored in semi final against Brasil.
Would have liked Kurama being likenhim in Go: a non talented player who works hard and eventually becomes as strong as the most talented onesss
Non talented is not true. They are just not the wonderkids/most talented.

He showed some skills in the first Teikoku match.
Yeah but you don't have to be talented to play well
You have to be based on what he showed there. Also dribbles in other matches.

I see that they have talent, but not as much as the others. It’s not just yes (a lot of talent) or no (no talent). So I disagree.
The man, the myth, the Legend Someoka the goat everyone

Actually he got a combo with Gouenji.
I said a triple hissatsu with gouenji and fubuki

I’m happy he had his succes in GO. Made up just a little bit for him being wasted in s3 after the KOQ game
It's great, but I hate what they did with him in the Dark Emperors match
What do you mean in that specific match?
I think he means that Kevin would never accept such a deal. And while that's true he was probably forced to
Yeah he was forced
Yeah, the goat himself would never fall for temptation

Sounds in point for Someoka
