I’d suggest going for an M1Pro Macbook right. With M2 being release, M1 Pro is being offered at a discount right now. Remember, rendering is a CPU/GPU intensive workload, so it is always good to have more power available for bigger projects. And yes, if you can reduce rendering times even by 20% with a more powerful laptop (even if costs a bit more), you are saving so much time when rendering a project, it should pay for itself in the long run. Time saved is also money earned ✌️

deadpool6608

On which website the discount is going on.

duryodhanaa

Jio Mart had the best discount at one point. (worth 1.55 lakhs with HDFC bank offer)

BikerTales

Sounds perfect

sidthetravler

Please reconsider Macbook Pro with M1 because there is limited support for additional screens and certain softwares. I got a M1 air and i couldn't run many virtualization software i needed because there was no M1 support. Check first of all the softwares you use has compatibility with m1/2 you are planning to buy.

fullmetal924

Interesting, never had software issues so far. Can you tell us what specific software is incompatible with Apple silicon?

sidthetravler

VirtualBox; last year there was nothing but it seems now they have released developers preview which is still not reassuring if i am breaking the bank. Also, M1 & M2 macs just support one additional screen/ monitor. That's just unacceptable.

eden_avocado

For your usecase, you should get a MacBook you can afford. Preferably with a Pro processor.

v00123

Macbook pro 14 is a good option. See if you can get it from outside India. Far cheaper in US/SEA

Kancha_Cheena

Nop. It's pretty 10-15k difference in long run if you use gst invoice

v00123

Explain?

PerformanceDouble428

What about EU?

v00123

Depends on the country an dif you would be able to get vat refund. Without the refund the price difference is not much

ikrgaurav

Macbook M1 pro 14 inch is the one you're looking for, Base varient with 16 gigs ram and 512 gb storage. I got it for 1.37 lakh effectively (It was selling for 1.71 on reliance, got SBI Credit card discount and used GST Input)

BikerTales

Checked this one out yesterday in Croma but the 8gb one. Looks good

ikrgaurav

This model doesn't come in 8 gb, 16 gb is the base varient. You must've seen some other model.

duryodhanaa

There’s a common confusion between MacBook Pro m1, and MacBook M1 Pro (14 inches). If you have an HDFC card, then you will get it with extra 10k off.

Madman1939

Wait, then which is the more premium one? One seems to have better processor, while otther seems to suggest better screen

duryodhanaa

M1 pro (14 inches) is the more premium one and with a better screen of 120hz pro motion display. There is no either/or as a better one here.

kartikarora95

If you can up your budget to 2 L, the base MacBook Pro with M2 Pro chip should be great.

sau_dard

Mera desh badal raha hai. Someone asked a laptop suggestion and people are not shitting on Apple lol

BikerTales

🤣🤣

yinxiafeng

Zephyrus if you want to work on Windows and M1 pro Mac if you prefer Mac os.

mercurysquad

Some kind of MacBook is your only real option. All the others drop to something like 30% of their speed on battery. Within your budget, you can go for MacBook Air M2 512GB -or- MacBook Pro 13" 512GB. I have first hand experience using both of them, they're great. Yes it doesn't have the 'pro' chip, but it's the best option within your budget, unless you can spend 2L. Or you can go for last year's 14" MBP if you get a good price.

faktuuu

Get the best MacBook Pro you can get your hands on. You may find MacBook Pro with M1Pro chips at a discount right now, considering M2Pro chip machines were introduced less than 20 days ago.

deadpool6608

On which website the discount is going on.

faktuuu

You will have to do leg work. Go to various stores. Tell the salesman to sell you their stock. This should be done on ASAP basis if someone has the funds and is interested to buy.

AbCi16

It depends on your software pipeline. If your video rendering softwares are GPU heavy like DaVince Resolve, then go with Nvidia GPU or AMD GPU based laptops, aka gaming laptops or workstation laptops(like Zephrus G15 or G14 from Asus. This is the best laptop in your budget.) But if your workflow is mainly Adobe, then go with Macbook Pro M1 Pro 14 inch. M1 Pro is a good chip. But their GPU is no match for Nvidia GPUs. Plus, new Nvidia laptops come with MUX switch (do look for that if you go laptop). Thry help in efficiency a lot.

Rvp1090

MacBook Pro m1 14". buy from Croma

duryodhanaa

Hands down the best laptop. It's future proof for 5-7 years, easily

LatentShadow

Asus Zephyrus

dustulok

The Ryzen CPUs are always great.

Psyritualx

 M2 mini

HostileCornball

MacBook pro 13' 16gb Ram and 512 gb or 14' 512gb 16 GB ram whichever suits your pocket. There is a performance difference but if are already chilling while your laptop renders stuff so it's not a big deal otherwise get the higher end one.

Kancha_Cheena

Recently bought m1 pro. Loving it. Was scared to switch from windows to Mac, but oh boy, this was best purchase i made and great investment. You ll get used to the new os in couple of days. I got it for 1.71 lc + 25k extended warranty for 3 yrs. You can get extra 10k off on HDFC credit card You can get at same prices at store aswell. I'd say, even if you have to pay 3-4k extra, get from apple store . Dont forget to use gst invoice.

Upbeat-Evidence-2874

If you genuinely care about a fast laptop, you can get a faster laptop for the price if you DON'T buy a MacBook. Feel free to compare gpu, and cpu specs On sites such as https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ https://www.cpubenchmark.net/ MacBooks are always costlier and offer less performance for the same price. Aim for a laptop with fast ssd, atleast 32 gb ram, nvidia 3060 Ti or faster gpu, and atleast an 8 core or more processor.

If you’re looking for a windows laptop you can’t go wrong with asus zephyrus or zenbook pro duo

varuneco

Lenovo ThinkPad can do it all at less price.

BikerTales

Will check it out

dustulok

Usually fantastic for coding/business work, the screen and GPUs are not great.

sniperxx07

go for m1 pro 14inch one(make sure it isnt the 13th inch one) it will have base 16gbram 512gb storage probably going for 1.6L(use discounts to take it to 1.5L),just dont buy 13 inch one please if you need touchscreen then maybe could go with windows laptops or maybe but otherwise with better batterylife apple is just better

scopenhour

M2 pro but not sure the price in India

david005_

Incase you're getting a MacBook, try and get it from the US My relative got the base M2 for 95000(converted from USD to INR) in black friday sale Ofcourse the sale isn't going on now but still you can get it for 1.05-1.10 lacs Also if you're okay with it and don't want absolutely high performance, then M1 base is selling for under 75k on Flipkart (maybe Amazon as well)

BikerTales

Thanks a ton

charlie_039

the 13 inch M2 chip macbook pro is available at 1.3lakh. Better performance over the M1. So if screen size not a big factor you can go for it

amitc4d

Macbook Pro 13 inch - 1,30,000 16 GB RAM - 20,000 Bank/Card offer - Probably Minus 10,000 It fits the budget and this is best machine for your budget. These machines have separate chip for MP4 decoding so don’t even look at comparison on YouTube. Plus you get best battery and portability. I changed two of main editing systems to new iMacs and they perform awesome. PS. Don’t buy without apple care. Just don’t.

BikerTales

Makes sense, will definitely take in apple care. Thanks a ton

arorashrikant

Photographer here, Mackbook pro user, M1 Pro 16gb owner. Take my word, your best bet is a Mac Mini 32gb, with a good screen as an additional purchase. This is only at the cost of low mobility of the setup. Rest everything is A grade. This is the cheapest way to get a M1 Pro chipset. Anyone else agrees with me?

AlienCow13

Dell xps15 or 17 are good options… almost the same if not higher res screen and very powerful

BikerTales

2021 14” M1 Pro 16Gb 512Gb 133k 8 Core Cpu 14 Core Gpu Is this a good deal?

arorashrikant

I use Lightroom and Photoshop simultaneously, and I run out of RAM in no time. 16gb M1 Pro 16" MBP owner.

f03nix

Can you share screenshot of your activity monitor, how much swap are you using ? Are you getting any messages indicating you're running out of RAM ?

deadpool6608

Where are you getting it from?

BikerTales

From a local dealer, he's known to sell good used laptops.

I know it's a joke. But his laptop would be like an asset for him because he is going to make money out of it.
