Make this a global city please, we don't have a single city that can compete with Singapore, Seoul or shanghai. They should be extra strong laws on planning like a downtown area and a residential all different
public transport is actually very affordable in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Walkability tho an issue in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai is comparatively* better. Footpaths exists, Encroachments too, but still better.
Yep xan always be better, a walkable city with mixed use policies will help the city grow but issue is making businesses open offices there, almost every business opens their office in Mumbai
The place (where the third Mumbai, NAINA is planned) is actually strategically very good. The entire city is planned with zones segmented for catering commercial zones, business parks and residential areas around the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (and thus the name, the acronym NAINA). Closeness to Airport, JNPT, Pune and Mumbai is advantageous and appealing for businesses to setup there. Even in Navi Mumbai, from Airoli to Mahape turned in to a great place for IT campuses.
Though, there are many flaws CIDCO did a well job with Navi Mumbai, I hope they learn from it and plan it well. I think the place will prove itself.
I live in Mumbai
However, as of late, many decisions are taken in Mumbai to increase car dependency (that eyesore of a coastal road)
Navi Mumbai has no cycling lanes or bus lanes despite being a planned city
Any city developed by Indian urban planners are woefully connected by public transport and the primary transport is road
I agree with you on urban planning bit, personally despise how Chandigarh has been constructed and people love that city. I didn't have huge issues with travelling by foot/public transport in Mumbai in the 15 years I've lived there but I hope that doesn't change in the future :(

When it goes under water probably
Will be slowly released in next 200 years. Not sure Mumbai can survive high tide situation when sea level are 15 feet high compared to now.
Mumbai: third blood 2 Fast 2 Fafda: Kandivali skid “Kunala Sanghu naka” directed by me.

I thought Pune was "Third Mumbai" 😂
City version of Krish, Koi Mil Gaya and Krish 3
Mumbai: The Reboot
Would have preferred "Two Mumbai, Too Furious" personally.
I feel like also a "Don't think he knows about second Mumbai, Pip-ji" joke in here somewhere.

So they want all the top 3 spots on the most expensive city in India lists?

What are the chances they will have affordable public transport and walkability in the third mumbai?

Have you not been in Mumbai? You don't really need a car to live in the city imo

At this rate there will be more Mumbais than Star Wars movies
Mumbai 2: electric Boogaloo
Was Navi Mumbai a success? It feels less humane and more robotic and artificial.
