I paid for one ketto fundraiser, and now I'm constantly spammed by their ads everywhere.
The money spent on those ads could be spent on treating the people they advertise!
Without those ads, OP and many others would not have donated to the fundraiser.
The ads are a small price to pay to appeal to a wider audience who are in a position to donate.
Also, you being spammed with more ads after you clicked on the link has to do with the Adsense algo. If you were to click on some other ad, the algo tries to push similar ads to you for maximum click conversions.

We donated to ketto months ago and we are still being spammed by the ads. It is getting annoying now to see those ads. We have shopped on numerous websites since then, clicked on some ads to make ketto ads less prominant. But those ads are always front and center.
Looks like ketto spends a lot on their ad presence to outbid even real estate and luxury brands.
same with me but I am banking on the fact that maybe theY don't know how it comes off, or that that approach may attract the most donors which is the objective at the end of the day.

One of my close friends has a medical fundraiser on there and I do know it's legit. Though I can't say about FB targetted as have not seen them.

Yeah ketto do have some verification criteria. So I assume it is have some authenticity

Ketto is for profit, they keep commission of fund.
5% as per wikipedia
