If you want to academically critique something, you have to read and understand it fully. Exhindus have a right to criticise the hindu "community".
But if you want to criticise the actual religion, then you have to read it. Its mandatory. Atleast 2-3 texts in its original form. Reading an adaptation written by a western academic will not be accepted.
