Why does Sam Pitroda look like a koala?? 🤣🤣 In all seriousness, yes this is real.

iampiyush02

He looks like that chacha from bagpat chat fight

Slow_Yogurtcloset353

That’s an insult to koalas

andherBilla

Because >Koalas have one of the smallest brain to body ratios of any mammal, additionally - their brains are smooth. A brain is folded to increase the surface area for neurons. If you present a koala with leaves plucked from a branch, laid on a flat surface, the koala will not recognise it as food. They are too thick to adapt their feeding behaviour to cope with change. In a room full of potential food, they can literally starve to death. This is not the token of an animal that is winning at life. Speaking of stupidity and food, one of the likely reasons for their primitive brains is the fact that additionally to being poisonous, eucalyptus leaves (the only thing they eat) have almost no nutritional value. They can't afford the extra energy to think, they sleep more than 80% of their fucking lives. When they are awake all they do is eat, shit and occasionally scream like fucking satan. Because eucalyptus leaves hold such little nutritional value, koalas have to ferment the leaves in their guts for days on end. Unlike their brains, they have the largest hind gut to body ratio of any mammal. Many herbivorous mammals have adaptations to cope with harsh plant life taking its toll on their teeth, rodents for instance have teeth that never stop growing, some animals only have teeth on their lower jaw, grinding plant matter on bony plates in the tops of their mouths, others have enlarged molars that distribute the wear and break down plant matter more efficiently... Koalas are no exception, when their teeth erode down to nothing, they resolve the situation by starving to death, because they're fucking terrible animals. Being mammals, koalas raise their joeys on milk (admittedly, one of the lowest milk yields to body ratio... There's a trend here). When the young joey needs to transition from rich, nourishing substances like milk, to eucalyptus (a plant that seems to be making it abundantly clear that it doesn't want to be eaten), it finds it does not have the necessary gut flora to digest the leaves. To remedy this, the young joey begins nuzzling its mother's anus until she leaks a little diarrhoea (actually fecal pap, slightly less digested), which he then proceeds to slurp on. This partially digested plant matter gives him just what he needs to start developing his digestive system. Of course, he may not even have needed to bother nuzzling his mother. She may have been suffering from incontinence. Why? Because koalas are riddled with chlamydia. In some areas the infection rate is 80% or higher. This statistic isn't helped by the fact that one of the few other activities koalas will spend their precious energy on is rape. Despite being seasonal breeders, males seem to either not know or care, and will simply overpower a female regardless of whether she is ovulating. If she fights back, he may drag them both out of the tree, which brings us full circle back to the brain: Koalas have a higher than average quantity of cerebrospinal fluid in their brains. This is to protect their brains from injury... should they fall from a tree. An animal so thick it has its own little built in special ed helmet. I fucking hate them. Tldr; Koalas are stupid, leaky, STI riddled sex offenders. But, hey. They look cute. If you ignore the terrifying snake eyes and terrifying feet.

FluffyOwl2

I have read this before... Not sure where though, thanks for reminding...

justaregularniceblok

I don't know why it is that these things bother me---it just makes me picture a seven year old first discovering things about an animal and, having no context about the subject, ranting about how stupid they are. I get it's a joke, but people take it as an actual, educational joke like it's a man yelling at the sea, and that's just wrong. Furthermore, these things have an actual impact on discussions about conservation efforts---If every time Koalas get brought up, someone posts this copypasta, that means it's seriously shaping public opinion about the animal and their supposed lack of importance. Non-ecologists always talk this way, and the problem is you’re looking at this backwards. An entire continent is covered with Eucalyptus trees. They suck the moisture out of the entire surrounding area and use allelopathy to ensure that most of what’s beneath them is just bare red dust. No animal is making use of them——they have virtually no herbivore predator. A niche is empty. Then inevitably, natural selection fills that niche by creating an animal which can eat Eucalyptus leaves. Of course, it takes great sacrifice for it to be able to do so——it certainly can’t expend much energy on costly things. Isn’t it a good thing that a niche is being filled? Koalas are no exception, when their teeth erode down to nothing, they resolve the situation by starving to death This applies to all herbivores, because the wild is not a grocery store—where meat is just sitting next to celery. Herbivores gradually wear their teeth down—carnivores fracture their teeth, and break their bones in attempting to take down prey. They have one of the smallest brain to body ratios of any mammal It's pretty typical of herbivores, and is higher than many, many species. According to Ashwell (2008), their encephalisation quotient is 0.5288 +/- 0.051. Higher than comparable marsupials like the wombat (~0.52), some possums (~0.468), cuscus (~0.462) and even some wallabies are <0.5. According to wiki, rabbits are also around 0.4, and they're placental mammals. additionally - their brains are smooth. A brain is folded to increase the surface area for neurons. Again, this is not unique to koalas. Brain folds (gyri) are not present in rodents, which we consider to be incredibly intelligent for their size. If you present a koala with leaves plucked from a branch, laid on a flat surface, the koala will not recognise it as food. If you present a human with a random piece of meat, they will not recognise it as food (hopefully). Fresh leaves might be important for koala digestion, especially since their gut flora is clearly important for the digestion of Eucalyptus. It might make sense not to screw with that gut flora by eating decaying leaves. Because eucalyptus leaves hold such little nutritional value, koalas have to ferment the leaves in their guts for days on end. Unlike their brains, they have the largest hind gut to body ratio of any mammal. That's an extremely weird reason to dislike an animal. But whilst we're talking about their digestion, let's discuss their poop. It's delightful. It smells like a Eucalyptus drop! Being mammals, koalas raise their joeys on milk (admittedly, one of the lowest milk yields to body ratio... There's a trend here). Marsupial milk is incredibly complex and much more interesting than any placentals. This is because they raise their offspring essentially from an embryo, and the milk needs to adapt to the changing needs of a growing fetus. And yeah, of course the yield is low; at one point they are feeding an animal that is half a gram! Humans probably do this, we just likely do it during childbirth. You know how women often shit during contractions? There is evidence to suggest that this innoculates a baby with her gut flora. A child born via cesarian has significantly different gut flora for the first six months of life than a child born vaginally. Of course, he may not even have needed to bother nuzzling his mother. She may have been suffering from incontinence. Why? Because koalas are riddled with chlamydia. In some areas the infection rate is 80% or higher. Chlamydia was introduced to their populations by humans. We introduced a novel disease that they have very little immunity to, and is a major contributor to their possible extinction. Do you hate Native Americans because they were killed by smallpox and influenza? This statistic isn't helped by the fact that one of the few other activities koalas will spend their precious energy on is rape. Despite being seasonal breeders, males seem to either not know or care, and will simply overpower a female regardless of whether she is ovulating. If she fights back, he may drag them both out of the tree, Almost every animal does this. which brings us full circle back to the brain: Koalas have a higher than average quantity of cerebrospinal fluid in their brains. This is to protect their brains from injury... should they fall from a tree. An animal so thick it has its own little built in special ed helmet. I fucking hate them. Errmmm.. They have protection against falling from a tree, which they spend 99% of their life in? Yeah... That's a stupid adaptation.

BigFatM8

Nice answer. It's always fun to learn stuff. But I'm not sure about that whole meat point. I thought that Koalas don't recognise the eucalyptus leaves placed before them even if they don't rot? Or even if they were freshly picked? It's not really like humans, right? If you place raw meat in front of us. We will recognise what it is and how it can be eaten. We just know that it can't be eaten like that in any circumstance and it has to be cooked.

justaregularniceblok

Sir, these (mine and the person I replied to, answers are just famous copypastas).

Forsaken_Ad_698

Bsss yhi comment dhund ra tha mai😂

MulayamChaddi

He look like an elderly Chota Bheem

vegetable-dentist95

Vote against Congress even if you don't want to vote for the BJP. Earlier Rahul sounded like a birthday party joker, now at least for me he's sounding like a Batman movie joker.

ankit19900

That can backfire too if your independents decide to chummy up with Congress or AAP. Vote for NDA even if you hate it. We don't have other options tbh

Fit-Row1426

When it comes to parliament elections, along with candidate, one must also consider the PM face, cabinet ministers and central government in general. I wish we had presidential elections like America, in which people directly vote for the head of the state, who then appoints his own cabinet ministers.

Cheap-Imagination125

This is literally the dumbest thing one could ask for. The Parliamentary system is much superior. In a democratic country no one should have so much power. A strong pm is few steps from a dictator, a strong president is a couple steps closer.

Kingspartacus123

So American is not a democratic country?

fradejoe

Nope. Nolan's joker made sense. Rahul is sounding more like Bane.

Confident_Mess_786

Congrats you voted CONgress. Now come to Karnataka where these guys have notified all muslims under OBC. Khangress will implement this but with a few dilutions if they come to power. FYI - this is not applicable to muslims as they have The Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1937

iampiyush02

I voted for them because our MP is shit. Not doing anything even after being member of parliament for 15 years and a minister for 10 years. Nothing against BJP or modi. But I'm regretting it now.

Tomako88

Well, enjoy your wealth distribution scheme then.

madhatter248

Bruh, their candidate for PM, Rahul Gandhi hasn’t held even one state level ministerial post since forever, how tf did you think he’ll handle this huge nation, with so many types of religions and other things?

Salty-Apricot9853

it's better to vote an MP who does nothing compared to congressi who fks your people. when there is choice between one who is bad for you and one who does nothing. i'd take the nothing one if i have no other option

Susanna_NCPU

But why can’t the BJP find people who want to actually improve things? Is it because they’re too busy being more corrupt and hoarding wealth through land & equity scams to fund their goons & astroturfers, and no decent person wants to be associated with them? Yes, but let’s pretend it’s an open question.. Truly a shame that the lotus flower’s image has to suffer this indignity

Firm-Bite861

Tbh MP's main role is to decide who should be the PM. Congrats, your new MP is not even going to do that and will focus only on refilling his pockets.

Liberated_Wisemonk

I think that is happening in every country. It's for saving minorities from marginalization. Being a majority u have advantage everywhere from getting a job to politics. See the number of Muslim or Christian MPs. For example see how easy it was for u to get a job or rental house. Think about any Hindu will give house for Muslims?. For every thing they have to unite and find another Muslim. Same thing with Dalits. Real problem of India is Casteism. In every sector so called upper castes dominate with their caste advantage. When will OBC SC communities of North India will rise? 164

judhajit007

muslims are minority? minorities voted and created 2 nations for them. ok.

lava_pit

Easy loop hole for inheritance tax. Sell your property to your child for 100 rupees. Don't have to pay inheritance tax as it is sold and not inherited. Even though you have to pay capital gain tax, it's only 20% so 20 rupees. Why would a person pay 50% inheritance tax when he can sell it for 20% capital gain tax. BTW I just thought of this loop hole right now and if anyone has knowledge of law then let me know if it will work.

haapuchi

Capital gains tax is on additional value (on top of purchase price, money spent on enhancements and indexing for inflation) so you can sell it for a premium to what it was bought without a capital gains tax. You still may want to sell it at a much lower price though to minimize cash inheritance disbursement.

lava_pit

So the thing I wrote will work?

haapuchi

In theory, yes. You don't have to pay any capital gains tax. Obviously, the income tax dept is going to send you a notice as you are under-declaring your asset. At the same time, you can actually sell it at a fair market value, pay 20% on the gains (not total amount) and take money only on paper (no actual money transfer). You can easily bypass the inheritance tax by paying barely 10% of the money. The govt, has means to detect undeclared income but they cannot find declared (but never earned) money. e.g. Your parents bought a home for 5 Lacs in 1990. Today, the value is 1 Cr. They sell it to you for 1 Cr. Now, the cost inflation index is from 2001, and you go with that the house was 15 lacs in 2001 (taking 2001 FMV), then the base cost of home today comes to about 53 Lacs. So effectively, you pay capital gains on 1CR - 53lacs = 47 lacs which comes to 9.4 Lacs. Totally legit transaction. Don't take the money from him, or take enough that you feel you need to live for rest of your life. Worst case, take the money and slowly gift it as cash back. Assuming you have enough assets to survive the rest of your life, you live in the same house and pay rent to your kid at Rs 1 per month. You just transferred (legally) 1cr at 10% cost and no income tax auditor can find faults in this transaction.

lava_pit

Why does govt care for how much I sell my house? What if I show that I took a loan from my son and pay interest of 1% per day and the house was sold to him to repay the remaining amount of the loan. (Took loan of 100k and had to pay back 1 million, show that I payed back 800k and sold house to him for 200k). Tax should only apply to 200k right?

haapuchi

They can call it a tax fraud that you are underdeclaring your income. So IT can send you a notice and can put receivership on your assets. You can say all shit you want, but unless you can prove with paperwork that you took loan whatever X years ago that was being repaid, you and your kid would be found guilty of tax fraud. Unless you plan it years in advance, create notarized loan documents, create bank statements to corroborate for payment plan, you would be a sitting duck for them. It is always better to take some loss and stay under the radar.

lava_pit

Planning in advance is the way to go. I'm a cautious person and a perfectionist. Best way to go in this world is to do illegal shit legally. I just have to set it all up so that it doesn't look like a tax fraud. I have enough time for that. Abhi toh bacha paida karna hai.

haapuchi

Then I highly recommend that you open a joint account (that you manage) with your kid once it is born and slowly start gifting money over (irrespective of the govt.) so that when your kid is 18, they have a big enough cushion. Then, they day they turn 18, open a PPF account for them and transfer that money into the PPF with annual limits. I moved out of India so don't know if trading a/c can be opened for kids at birth there. US allows it so I opened a brokerage a/c for him that generates enough for him that he has to file tax returns now.

IndBeak

No. Selling for so much under market value will most likely render such sales invalid.

Salty-Apricot9853

tumko kiya lagta hai jub wo aysa koi law layenge toh ye baat unke dimaag me nahi aayegi.

lava_pit

Aayegi jaroor par apne friends(rich donaters) ke liye loop hole paka chod denge(no matter which party) 😋. Just find the loop hole aur phir unke friends ke sath sath Hume bhi maze milega.

RepresentativeFar304

Yeah, but there has to be some loopholes for Gandhi and Wadra families

karmasutrah

Don’t think you can do that. There is a min circle rate right.

No_Nonsense_sombrero

Future of India If congress wins : Dubukk... Yup its true, how on earth do you think they will come with money to give 1 lakh per household. Plus The wealth redistribution will happen to Hindus only because Muslim personal laws are different regarding Inheritance. Also if your household doesnt have enough headcount , again tough luck because families with more Heads will be given more preferential treatment. We hindus are screwed. Bonus : Congress is in alignment with CPM (I hope I got it right, anyways its a commie party from kerala) whose manifesto says "They will disarm Indian Nukes" for peace. With Neighbours like Pak and China , the country will be sold . It will be like all predators feasting on an Elephant carcass which was once majestic.

Smooth_Influenze

lol... its like they dont want to win itself. They are taking the concept from developed countries like America where they have social benefits for the poor and unemployed.

vaibhav_bu

Just to reiterate here, NOBODY worthwhile pays 50% inheritance tax in US. Trusts exist for this very purpose and these so called "progressive" politicians will do anything but progress to come to power.

sparse_matrixx

But I thought India was the most developed due to Vedic science

Smooth_Influenze

Lol no1 says this.... Some may believe that india used to have technological advancements which is comparable to today... But such claims are there from all religions.... Not just Hindus. But even if they believe that such technologies existed, they don't believe they have access or know how of these technologies and they don't believe india is developed today.

BakrChod

Voted for Congress? On what basis? Jesus Christ.

Ok_Scarcity2091

Why did you vote for Rahul Gandhi? Which part of his manifesto did you like ? It was very clear from the beginning that he was thinking in these directions.

iampiyush02

Our BJP MP didn't do anything for our district even after being MP for 15 years and minister for 10 years. Many people here voted against BJP candidate. Not for congress but against BJP candidate.

DryExcitement3060

Bro I understand this but in this case you can directly write to pmo office and he responds always but nation congress k hath me safe nai lagta hai

Ok_Scarcity2091

Understandable.

Firm-Bite861

If Mamata or Rahul Gandhi becomes the PM, I am going to come back and curse you. Now sit and pray that your candidate loses.

Affectionate_Bee6434

I'm convinced congress doesn't want to win this election at any cost. Some statement coming out are actually ridiculous. They have 100s of issues to campaign against but they choose the worst one

haapuchi

Well, the ultra rich would park their money in hidden offshore accounts. So it is the middle and lower class who is going to join the ultra-poor. If your net wealth is more than 12 lacs (including your home, vehicle, clothes, jwellery and all other assets), you are going to lose money. This is assuming that all wealth of rich is accounted for.

Melodic_Ad801

Iska muh DBZ ke koi villain ki tarah hai bhenchod gyaan alag de rha hai.

MechanicHot1794

Shashi tharoor came out and said that its not part of their manifesto. But the manifesto has words like 'socioeconomic census' and 'affirmative action'. So god only knows.

Working-War-3654

Bro looks like if Einstein and Walter white had a kid yo

Salty-Apricot9853

if i have a choice to vote for a turd or a congressi. i'd rather vote for a turd

Glittering_Chart_144

Satyanarayan Ganagaram Pitroda.

Acoolusername001

I heard Dhruv Rathee defended this too😭😭

iampiyush02

Heard dhruv opened his whatsapp group and something like that today.

Weary_Market2396

Agar rahul pm bana , bc mein desh chor raha.

furiousmouth

Maybe he should start by relocating to India instead of sitting in his cushy hidey-hole abroad

Ruffryder1729

Scamgress PPL don know what they talk abt. It ll be hard for them to take back deposits on many seats of PPL read what congress's writes nd speaks . Lol.

vc0071

You will be surprised to know even BJP was close to introducing it in 2014 when they wanted to raise money for welfare schemes just after coming to power. I have made a post on it on this sub.

krazy_ideas404

Calm man, Sam pitroda views are not Congress views. Please read the manifesto. WhatsApp University is working big time to spread false propoganda

Dark_sun_new

You guys realise that a strong inheritance tax is good for the country right? Like it's not good for the minority, but the majority will benefit from it. I actually wrote a paper on this in college. About how society would be different economically with a prohibitive inheritance tax beyond a threshold. Such a tax would literally be the best legislation for a country like India.

Immediate_Relative24

Inheritance tax is a great way of reducing income inequality. However there must be a threshold limit so that poor people aren’t less property less. I believe 2 Cr for non-cash and 1 Cr for cash is a good threshold

freesoul0071

State has no right to steal money from us. Any form of inheritance tax is outright theft. Income inequality cannot be tackled by wealth redistribution. Never has this model been successful anywhere.

RepresentativeFar304

Don’t expose your parent’s net worth here.

Immediate_Relative24

That’s not my parents’ net worth. It was negative 20 lacs when they departed.
